Game description
You've been out surfing all day and you run into a shark nest!

Defeat the sharks with you surf board that shoots bullets.

Arrow keys to move and space to shoot.

Also my first game!

Theme interpretation
With the theme being waves I though of having a surfer surfing the waves and trying to escape sharks.

This is a pretty good 1st game. The art is great, I wish there was audio. The controls were hard and it took me a while to understand that I have to shoot the sharks. So consider adding a tutorial (for example just 2 short texts explaining the controls, like : WASD to move , Space to shoot). The gameplay is simple and has potential to be expanded. The hitBox of the projectile could be a bit larger to make the game less punishing.

Overall, a very solid 1st game. Keep making games!

The game idea is quite good, but the game controls are quite difficult.

Solid game play loop and nice art. I hope you keep making more!

Congratulations on your first game! Keep up the good work, and wonderful projects will come your way!

Very cool game! Feels a slight bit hard to get started but in the end it works very well! The art is amazing. Only thing, it would be cool if you could add some background music.

Fun game, and congratulations on finishing your first! :D

Movement felt solid and I like the game loop (pretty big fan of these types of games)! I think upgrades would be quite a cool addition e.g. increasing movement speed etc., which in turn could then lead to ratcheting up of the difficulty over time :)

Great job!

Nice little game, didn't crash or freeze at all 😃  I was a little overwhelmed by the speed of the sharks and didn't really move around because the movement direction is relative to the bow of the ship so when it was pointing towards the bottom it was reversed 😅which is common in game jams actually but it killed the motivation to move around dodging the sharks lel

Overall great job

Great job, it functions well and no errors! One thing others haven't mentioned, is adding a bit of sound (background music, shooting noise, game over sound), would really elevate it.

Good job - very cute shark

ay congrats on your first game!! I love the art for the shark, its super cute. Giving the player HP so death isn't as sudden, and maybe a way to heal might be something to think about for a future update :)

I like the pixel art you used a lot. Looks great.

Congrats on your first game! as the others already said - a nice upgrade to the game would be some sort of power ups/abilities or some sort of HP

Once I realized it was tank controls, the game runs super smoothly!  Death is a little sudden--maybe there could be lives or HP of some sort?  A reason to move around could also be cool, like randomly spawning powerups around the ocean, or different types of fish that need to be dodged.

Good work!

Congrats on your first game! I’m probably more old school and took me a bit to get used to the controls but overall was cool!

overall the gameplay loop is great, and it is quite fun! I would add some powerup system or something to keep it interesting but overall nice job!
