Nice work, buddy. I liked the music.

Developer

Thanks :) happy you enjoyed it. thanks for the compliment :)

nice) a good 20-second concept, but the controls don’t feel very responsive. In my opinion, it would be better to move between fixed points at intersections, because right now it can be quite difficult to make a turn smoothly

Developer(+1)

I like your suggestion.  Thanks for playing and for your feed back. Much appreciated. :)

I really like this concept. Reminds me of a minigame in Bit Life. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you! :) thanks for playing. I think that's the second time someone mentions that.

good fun and the music reminded me of the knight rider theme (which is a good thing).

1 suggestion: loudness normalization improves player experience (the bars should never hit red). a lot of the music, sfx we might find are offered at different volumes (generally, max. i had to grab the volume on launch as the game was extremely loud). i've used Audacity to normalize sound to -20 LUFS since a more-experience dev suggested it and like to pay that tip forward :)

otherwise, i did manage to find freedom after a few plays but that cot on the inside and the serenity there IS alluring... :)

thanks for sharing some fun!

Developer

Thanks :) great commentary. I use Audacity also. I'll try that. thanks for the tip. Why I participate. One learns alot from these jams. Lol, yeah, alluring but I was hoping proving one's innocence was motivation enough. haha.:) Thanks for playing!!

hey its fun! reminds me a bit of the bitlife prison escapes,

Developer

Thank you! :) .. Glad you had fun with it :) .. thanks for your positive feedback  :)

Plays smooth. I think if the in-game colors matched the title screen it would be better aesthetically. Otherwise, good job.

Developer

Great Advice! I just actually saw a video on that on youtube, but it was the day after I had submitted the game, lol. But, I agree that would have been better. Thanks! for commenting and playing :)

Thank you!! :)

Not gonna lie, I was bopping my head to the music! xD Such a simple and great concept for a game and there's loads of potential to make this game into multiple levels in future updates. Well done! :)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! :) Jonathan. I was actually giving that some thought recently on expanding the game. Perhaps, like calling it The Escape Artist and escaping from different places :) Thanks again for your great commentary and encouraging words.

There might be a game time issue, but the in game 20 second countdown ends up being 35 seconds real time. Fun game though, and I escaped! :D

Developer

Glad you made it out :) I didn't think anyone would notice. its a time matrix issue. lol, jk. .. some pc's are faster. my laptop is not as fast as my desktop. on my laptop the song ends before the clock times out. on my desktop, the song doesn't end before the clock times out. But even then, yeah, the count down is not in real time, lol. But, thanks :) for your kind commentary and feedback. Glad you enjoyed it :) Much appreciated.

This is more fun than I care to admit for its relative simplicity. I had to play until I beat it.

Developer

Thanks Marc. sometimes, yes, fun is in the simplicity. I agree. I liked the idea of making a short timed game. a quick fun run. Thanks for playing and for your kind words. Glad you escaped! :)

I like the idea of it, one of the things that i was struggling with at first was input timing but then after 2 rounds I learned I could just hold the input I wanted to go to and once the opening was there it would go regardless. I think maybe some variance in speed in the guards could make it a bit more challenging

EDIT: Looked at the comments after posting this and noticed you mentioned the movement thing.

Developer

Thanks for clearing that up :) Yes, i think many might miss that :/ Great suggestion. Thanks,  yes,  I think that would definitely improve the game by adding speed variance on the guards. Thanks 😊

Cool concept. One thing I would change is allowing input to work more leniently. Sometimes input doesnt work unless the character is exactly in the right spot. You could probably add a buffer so input would work even if the player presses a key slightly before getting to a turn/junction. Also please check out my game.

Developer

Thank you for your feedback :)  I like the suggestion. I think that might work. Thanks! I'm glad you liked it. Definitely, I'll check out your game :)

Developer

But for now, you keep the direction key pressed before getting to a turn. But I think,  yeah, your suggestion might work best.
