Fantastic! Love the combination of mechanics! Early on, I think somehow clicking was registering before the level came up so initially I was very confused because it was the red X. Resetting thankfully works, and is quick. This happened for the first few levels but then either things worked, or I stopped clicking to early.
I love the game (now that I get it :D)
there is a few annoyances like dragging the mouse over the text on the screen feeling a bit mhmmmm and the cursor already beeing snapped to some point upon reset sometimes, but this is all so fixable^^
glad i didnt miss out on this entry!
me when I forget to set mouse mode to ignore (oops):
glad you enjoyed the game tho, thank you <3
I really like puzzle games and hockey, so win-win! I got to level 7 before I got stuck, but apparently it's because I can't read and didn't realize what the crystal was for. Once I'm done voting, I'm gonna go back and see if I can't finish your game now that I know. I've played a few games this jam that have the pull back and release mechanic, but this is by far my favorite one! Really great job, especially on your first GWJ entry!
thank you :D
I geuinely said out "Oooh Okay" and rubbed my hands together when i realised what i was doing here.
Very satisfying!
this was super fun to play and think through with the levels! one nitpick i had is that i wish the timer didn't start until after you launched the puck, so players would be encouraged to take their time and figure out the action plan. other than that, solid entry. art was cute too!
I don't know if that's the idea but you can pass some levels by simply throwing yourself against the wall behind you while jumping to skip some parts xD
This game is well built. Fits the theme and the jumps make for some interesting gameplay!
Love the art and sound.
Congrats on the submission!
twas intentional yea, the skips are usually a good deal harder than doing the level normally I’d say (at least initially)
Glad you enjoyed and thank you <3
Very nice puzzle game with clever take on the theme, excellent for this being your first submission. Really enjoyed it. The difficulty ramp was good although still have not been able to beat the "star" level, the jump the pull mechanic is challenging - I will have to try again.
Would have enjoyed seeing a zoomed out view to help plan understand what to do.
Thanks for submitting, keep them coming
After the first few levels I was worried there wouldn't be much variety with the limited control scheme, but I was thankfully proven wrong. The later levels get really intricate and pretty challenging.
I think my only complaint is that trial and error is pretty necessary to learning the levels, which I'm not the biggest fan of. It might've been cool to be able to pan around and look at the whole level or see an overview of the whole thing before you start so you can plan out your route and win it on your first attempt if you've got the skill.
this game is super smooth to play, i saw some other people struggling a bit with the levels in this, but to me everything was super satisfying. it feels really good to aim just right and crash through the entire level in one fell swoop, and the sound effects fit in super well. the chill music helps with the high difficulty on the last level as well, it took me a lot of tries to beat that one and yet i thoroughly enjoyed the entire time i spent trying to beat it. really fun game! please join more jams in the future :)
hai hai tyyy :D
This is just so smooth to play ! I love everything about it, i'm amazed at how polished the whole game looks too!
I especially loved being able to go off on some weird paths instead of straight up going through the intended route, adds a super nice degree of player agency that i absolutely adored !
The level design was great, controls were smooth and overall i'd definitely play more of this <3
(reading is hard and failed to notice there was a jump at first, i'm a dumdum)
Tried the first level and I only got 1 hit so assumed the 1 was inversely proportional to difficulty. Like it was asking me to pick the time (hits) allowed.
So I tried the * level thinking it would be a tutorial/free play. Still only 1 hit. On 2 occasions I crossed what I now understand to be the accelerator. I thought it was the finish line and was trying to land on. Only when I nearly did, did I realise it boosts my speed.
After that I could easily progress the earlier levels, and had fun on the way.
I can launch the puck, get another hit with the powerup, and the puck goes where-ever I send it then, instead of maintaining a modicum of its original velocity. The momentum was weaker than expected but it makes the game more fun.
Really fun! The jump mechanic really added a lot to this.
I loved playing this game. At first I didn't read about the jump mechanic so I was wondering how to do level 4, I tried to shoot as fast as I could and then knew I missed something. And there was the jump, which by the way felt soooo incredibly good. I had a blast! Really good entry 🔥
This felt so good to play and would make a killer mobile game for sure. I had fun trying to break the intended solutions of the level by abusing the ability to keep momentum on snow/concrete with frame perfect (or near perfect) jumps.
Very clever idea that leverages the theme pretty well! The puck moves like I'd expect it to and it's fun to chain jumps at later levels! The levels take some time to load on my system and I really wish there was a pan camera option so I could see the entire level and plan my moves, but besides that I really liked this one!
