I love flying games. There is a fun game in here all it needs is some bug fixing and polish. I saw your comment about the issues with the web build so I downloaded the windows version and it is so much better. The controls were alright but I kept introducing a roll and wasn't able correct it easily. Breaking the obstacles was really hard because you could only see them when going fast so lining up your attack was difficult.  Getting the controls and "feel" in a game like this can be extremely difficult and the time crunch would only make that even more difficult. The animation on the character looked good and the art in the level was interesting. I would have loved to be able to just fly around in a larger space but I know you were limited by trying to target the web build.  I'd love to try this again if you folks do any more work to it post jam!

Not the best at flying but I liked I had some control over the button settings. I think the game fit the theme. Good job.

I like any game that lets me fly around like this. It controlled pretty well for this type of game, and had a cool vibe to it. I did have some minor bugs like clipping through the ground and ending up underneath the map at one point, or my speed suddenly increasing to a crazy high level. Still though, felt like a really neat foundation for a game.

Fantastic feel to the game, I loved how the mechanics pushed me into being more and more of a daredevil

Arena felt a bit small, I kept going out of the play area :(

Developer

agree. the problem here was we were targeting for web and had to save performance on terrain size and vfx stuff.

But then sad enough despite all efforts to make it running on web, the textures in browser on web somehow not loading. But seems to work on Linux browser. Windows local works too.

High score: 2980. The current year is 2025 and let us be real: Where are our flying lightweight wing suits? Jetpacks were a thing in the 1940s, it is absurd that we live in a time of AI generated McDonalds ads and wireless crystals of all human knowledge in our hands, but no gliding wing suits? What, you think paragliders are the answer? NO. This game is the answer, Wings And Rings is the answer. Send it to NASA, send it the EU, send it to China's ministry of defense, someone! Thank you for creating a diagram of a possible future that is really just an unrealized present that should have been.

I really liked how the gliding felt and I loved the music too! I always loved Pilotwings on N64 and it reminded me of that a bit!

Developer

thanks for playing - love to hear that you enjoyed the music!

I love gliding games ! Gaining speed feels great, music is great and assets look good.

Controls take a bit to get used to (love that we can rebind buttons, great options menu) but once you get it you can fly around super smoothly at huge speeds!

The crashing on the floor feels a tiny bit buggy at certain times but apart from a few exceptions the whole game is a ton of fun! Great work ^^

great idea! my only problem with it from a bit of playing is that the speed meter goes away if you die and click restart.

Developer

Yea sorry about that, added some last minute tutorial stuff and it ended up causing that. Thank you for playing!

Unique graphics and nice music. Cool that you allow button remapping. Crashing into terrain feels a bit strange, it takes long to register. Perhaps it's to get leeway for surviving. I had some troubling estimating the distance of rings in front of me. The on-screen size is a giveaway of course, but you could make far away ring appear more pale for example. Your game is a cool whole package, nice work.
