Theme interpretation and application
We interpreted the theme as reducing things to their bare essentials, we wanted to shrink down gameplay elements and have these gameplay elements have an impact on the larger world around acting as gates and keys for the metroidvania genre.

Awesome concept!! Honestly a little spooky from the get go, which is not a bad thing. And something you could lean more into in the future if you wanted to. The positional audio as you approach the machines is a nice touch. Great atmosphere in general, and music!!
For what it's worth I did get stuck in the exact same place as WaveParadigm, so I'm thankful I read that comment thread. The difference in height between the two conveyor belts is so minimal, that it felt strange that I could just jump on the first but then not the second. And then the machine in between them seemingly being an invisible wall didn't help, when it also seemed like a reasonable height object to jump onto, and also kinda blocked the jump from the first belt to the second.
Anyway, that's a hiccup in an otherwise very cool experience. I'm now exploring the 3rd arcade machine, which is a cool vibe shift, I appreciate the different perspectives of each game. Not sure where to go but I'll try to utilize the compass. It's very late right now for me, so I need to pause and I'll try again tomorrow. Really nice work!!
yeah the 3d movement as well as that section is one we would have liked to improve on, it was finalized in the very last day of the jam which was something we would have liked to have more time to refine, glad you enjoyed it, and im glad you took note about the audio!
Loved the game concept! The minigames are legit fun and well build. Really loved the Atari aesthethics.
Keep working on this game, i am very sure you can get lots of sales on Itch.io and Steam if you build a full game out of this.
Some upgrades you can do:
Make the controls of the machine move with player input, so we feel playing the game.
I got stuck in this room, after taking the dash, do not know where to go:
You are supposed to head back to the first terminal, because you now have access to the dash in the other minigame.
Lovely concept and vibes, figuring out that the powerups were cross-cabinet was satisfying and the ending was cute. Felt like there could be a lot of potential in an expanded version of this premise. Nice job!
Great concept. I feel like this could be a great base for a horror game. Like you have to avoid noises in the games to avoid attracting monsters in the real world. But you could take this in lot's of interesting directions.
This was a real treat. I almost got stuck on the 3d, conveyor belt, it looks like you should be able to hop on top but thankfully your earlier reply let me know I was on the right track. Also would have loved gamepad support. Atmosphere was top notch. I loved the mix of mini-genres, I could easily see this expanded.
This is a really smart and well-realized idea. Great work!
Metroidvanias inside a metroidvania was not on my bingo card for MVM30.
I love everything about this game. The creativity behind the terminals, the ambience, the minimalist interpretation, it's awesome from an end to another. I don't much more to say.
I am so glad you liked it! We had a lot of fun making it, and seeing all these positive comments is more of a dopamine rush than we were prepared for. Thank you for playing
i love the implementation of the theme, probably the best I've seen! I got stuck on the lava wall that chases you, but the levels before that was awesome! great job.
when you say you got stuck do you mean you were softlocked?
no no, just not skilled enough lol. Although there was a time I died where it took 4 times of respawing and instantly getting killed by nothing to actually fully respawn, but it worked itself out so it's not too bad.
Ah, yep that part is a known bug, my theory is that something with the mechanic where the thing grabs you causes issues with the respawn logic.
Very cool concept, well-demonstrated mechanics, and I love the music in the final section.
I did have to restart the game early on because I accidentally placed the first key somewhere inaccessible, and the jumps to get to the final arcade cabinet were a little difficult, but other than that I had no issues.
Thanks for the feedback, in retrospect those jumps were a little difficult, unfortunate about the restart. That is unfortunate. I'm glad you liked the concept
THIS IS AWESOME.
Swapping between the different terminals with different ways to play, abilities in one unlocking abilities in the other, and the entire facility coming together had my jaw drop multiple times. I'm heartbroken that my playthrough was forced to abruptly end when trying to find the next way to go upon unlocking Jump in 3D.
I couldn't figure out what the game wanted from me after reaching the conveyor belts since I could jump to the first but not from the first to the second nor from the ground to the second, and the machine between the two was clearly designed with invisible walls to prevent the player from reaching it. I was just sorta looking around and trying to jump to the second conveyor (I'm afraid this was the first time the game really stumped me and I couldn't find anything to interact with or any other way to proceed), when I ended up sorta clipping into the corner of the conveyor and became entirely unable to move. With no way to proceed, save, or respawn, I was forced to exit the game.
Easily my favorite of the submissions I've had the opportunity to play so far. There's SO much cool stuff you could do with this concept. With some polish to the 3D movement aspects of the game I think this idea has a ton of legs. GREAT work!!
Thank you for your comment, Its unfortunate to hear about that soft lock in the 3D platforming section, to complete it you are supposed to jump from conveyor to conveyor and then through to the box and the 3rd terminal. But i am so glad you enjoyed it! It gives me a dopamine rush every time i see a comment like this!
This was such a cool game! I was geniunely sad that it ended because I wanted to keep playing. Loved the concept of the different games interacting. Well done :)
Thank you so much for your lovely comment, and im glade you enjoyed the concept, Soup and I have been discussing making a longer version after the Jam is over (though we may need to refactor a bit of it because it is a mess under the hood)
Would love to see it!
I liked it it's cute and a good concept! I think you should put the controls on the page it took me a Hot Moment to figure out the E key was the interact/disengage button.
I liked the backtrack message lol.
Thanks!, just to clarify was there not a button prompt above the terminal? if so that is a bug that needs fixing within the remaining grace period, thanks for the feedback.
Hi there, just a brief comment. We are still working on the game and the ending specifically within the grace period so please be aware of that.
