How does your game fit the theme?
Our game aligns with this theme on a narrative level as well, because even five seconds to escape fate is already too late. In this short story, a killer who had confidently managed to obtain temporary leave from prison now comes face to face with one of the victim’s close relatives, and the killer is confronted with his true destiny. As a Persian proverb says: it may come sooner or later, but it will not be avoided.

Story / Context
> The story of the game is about escaping fate—something impossible for those who are guilty. In this story, Daniel, a killer who had managed to obtain temporary leave from the court, realizes in a dark alley that someone is following him, so he starts running. Suddenly, he sees someone standing in the distance right in front of his eyes. The person plays a sound—the sound of Daniel’s court trial.
>
> It was unclear who the stranger was, but Daniel knew that whoever it was intended to kill him, and the played recording proved that the real intention was to confront Daniel with the fate he had tried to escape. Daniel pulled out a knife he had hidden in his clothes and charged at the stranger. He hesitated for a moment, but he knew that he either had to kill or be killed.
>
> The fight between them was intense. The stranger grabbed Daniel’s hand and landed a heavy punch on his face—so strong that the knife fell from Daniel’s hand and he collapsed to the ground. Daniel asked, “What do you want from my life?” but the answer was obvious: he wanted to kill Daniel. Enraged, Daniel shouted, “Go to hell.”
>
> The stranger stabbed Daniel multiple times with the knife, killing him and delivering him to his true fate. Then he placed the victim’s favorite flower at the scene of the murder and left.

Proof of Real-Time Rendering
We created the game’s art using Photoshop and then imported it into Unity. By using Unity’s Timeline, along with post-processing and various camera effects, we tried to make this scene feel more cinematic.

The graphic style is simply stunning, it might be my sleep but for a moment I saw Naruto's chidori PUAHAHAHHAAH... Great job indeed

the art was amazing, and the sounds too and the cinematography but the only point i did not get it is the story who is the killer and who is the victim and i can not see the 5 seconds theme but its was amazing

Well done! Gave you 5 out of 5 in cinematography. This might be a weird compliment, but you optimized it really well. Despite all the visuals and screen effects, my CPU and GPU were barely affected and they frequently go up playing visual heavy games.

great visual style! and the comic camara use is great as well. it would be better to have a more understandable 5 seconds story to fit the theme. still a good one

one of the best in the jam! love the comic style! music was good too. at first, couldnt see where the theme fits, but after reading how you put it in, it does make sense. overall, great job mate!

Comix style is the best part, and the way you are working with it. For music, I would probably expect more mysterious music from the start, with the tempo going up in the fight sequence. The fight sequence could have a few short fighting sounds to juice it up as well.

For the theme, I do know exactly how much 5 seconds make difference - the killer was waiting for him anyway. Was there a decision sooner in the story which would 5 seconds of thinking change could have changed? Maybe, but I do not know that.

For real-time proof (more like a hint for next time) - it's common to have some camera movement mechanics implemented - slight camera shift based on the mouse movement, for example, this is like proof it's not pre-rendered video from the engine, it's rendered in real-time.

The visuals were great. I did enjoy the panel like sequence for the action scenes and overall story but theme doesn't feel present. Overall, good job!

Let's go with the best part first- I really liked the comic book inspired art! The drawings were cool and the way camera worked helped present the action. The action was dynamic- at least to the degree that can be done with comic book pages.

The sound could use some more focus. This submission would benefit, if each comic panel had corresponding sounds played (for example hit sounds when the fight happens).

As for the theme use- I don't really feel how it fits the "5 seconds too late". The story itself looks engaging, and I wouldn't mind following it further :)

Over all- really good art, but needs more polish on sound, and clearer interpretation of the theme. Keep up the good work!

I like this entry, although for me the screen seemed to be cut (?). It did not work in fullscreen either...The time limit fits, but what is missing is the proof of real-time rendering. The art style is gorgeous and feels very polished, except one thing: Text bubbles seem to have a green outline that feels like "green screen" was somehow used...(?) It feels like the story is not fitting that well to the theme "5 seconds too late"... What was actually too late within this scene? Maybe you can explain further, as I don't quite get what you mean within your description of the submission.

Still: Good entry!
