The art is undoubtedly very cute. I really liked the color palette you used — the shades of green, white, and pink were very pleasing to me. I also really enjoyed the perspective of the scene, which, despite being simple, is well done and fits the overall aesthetic.

From what I noticed, you emphasized the main elements by filling them with color, such as the traffic light and the characters themselves, while the rest remained simpler. This creates an interesting visual hierarchy for the composition of the story as a whole.

My only critique would be that it’s a little unclear whether only one of the characters wants to confess, or if both are thinking about telling each other they love one another.

I honestly thought the ending would be tragic haha, but it seems it wasn’t (thankfully — enough of sad endings). The sounds were pleasant and gave the scene a really relaxing and engaging vibe. The color changes reflect the protagonist’s inner state very well, which shows great care in expressing feelings beyond words.

Congratulations on the cutscene — it’s really well done and interesting, even if the intentions behind the confession weren’t entirely clear. I wish you the best of luck in the jam!

great art style and pacing. really like  the i need to say it moment.  expecting a car crash sfx in the end, since the camara showed to expect this. woud be better to fit the theme with it. still a good work!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback !! Genuinely i was also think of a car crash or some thing isekai stuff in the end but i thought it would be better for the viewer to decide what they think about it after that but still i keep that in mind for the next time

ngl part of me was hoping for a dark twist. like if he told her 5 seconds earlier, she wouldnt of walked ahead yet and get run over or sum like that lol. also, i liked the overlay of "i need to say it"! good job mate!

Developer

thank for the feedback !! i guess it's not necessary for someone to die, i mean then it will become one more isekai anime which i don't want for now :(

Art and sound track are nice. I'm a little confused though. The way the phrase "I need to say something" appeared over both characters made me think they both were thinking it, but it sounds like it's just supposed to be the girl? Or the guy? It says "You said something" next to the girl. but I don't get why it's five seconds too late. Unless the guy said it when she was too far away to hear?

P.S. Reading through comments. It sounds like some say the scene is not as impactful because it's a simple every day moment where the guy could just say "I like you" again. I think it still works. Sometimes it takes a lot of courage to speak, and something as little as not being heard can throw someone off enough to not try again. At least not that moment. Perhaps another time, the protag will find his voice and be heard, but for today, he was 5 seconds too late. My initial critique of making the scene clearer still stands, but I think the premise is fine.

thanks for the amazing feedback !!! The phrase i need to say depicts that they both want to say it but couldn't say it but the boy tried it at last, i think the direction goes a bit wrong , at  first i was trying something else, like creating a 2 choice box and timer for the guy but my lazy ass does not want to work on it and time was low so i change some scene mid cutscene. next time i try to convey the meaning more precisely and last part where there's no outcome i did not add it cause i thought it would be more fun to see what the viewer will think but i guess many of them expected the girl to be isekai'd by a truck or car  or something .

You're welcome. It could work to imply both wish to say they like the other, but it's probably simpler to stick with just the guy's perspective. Or if you do show the girl's perspective, save it until after the guy speaks and she does not hear, but maybe she notices his mouth moving and wistfully thinks it would be nice if he was saying he liked her. "I really should tell him myself, but I'm too shy."

Developer(+1)

thanks!!! that idea  works too i guess

It's never too late! He should tell her again... but louder

At first, when the lady stepped into the road, before the counter reached zero, I lowered my volume in expectation of a car crashing into her.

I think we all know that feeling of being afraid to act because it can be too late. So that's a good target, but there would be a bigger impact if they lost the moment during goodbyes (leaving for an abroad school? moving away?).

Your art is minimalistic, and more pastel colors (but not too much) could work nicely.

Developer(+1)

thanks for the feedback !!! it sounds funny that you need to lowered your volume :} well for the last part is up to the viewer for what they think can happen between them i know its sounds strange but i want to create something like that so yeah and for the art part i am just lazy to color the background :)

Let's start with the best thing. The I liked the sudden color change, and "I need to say it" part. Really sold the protagonist's internal state!

As for the audio and art- I think the color composition is nice, but the character art needs a bit more polish. Same with the sound- music fits the atmosphere well, but a bit more audio would feel better. Of course- this jam was a bit short, so I get you might not have had much time for that.

As for the plot and theme... The protagonist isn't too late! Just tell her man! It's never easy, but it pays off :)

Developer (3 edits)

thanks for the feedback!!! its feels good that you like the color change and i need to say it part , for the character art i agree cause there some pixel coming out of the character and female art is also a little wrong with its proportions and face expressions is a bit too wrong and i guess  jam is not the fault for time in my case it's just me who is lazy in his work and get distracted from its phone and random stuff that doesn't matter at that time.
for the last part the protagonist will definitely say it if he got more than 5 second next time :)  Hopefully

Good entry, but with a bit more of a story this could be even better. I did not quite get what happened in the end that it was "too late" for something. It felt like the scene was not over yet. The art looks nice, colors fit well, though the hair of the women is kinda 'cut' on the right side (probably happened during import/export?). Except for the traffic light that did not quite fit the style. The cutscene itself is quite short, but I liked the overall atmosphere. I really expected the women to be hit by a car in the end actually :D

Overall, good entry, just needs something...more...?

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback!!! i guess last scene is confusing to many viewers at first i though that it would look good if i leave it for the viewer to decide what happened between them  but i guess it didn't work as it get mismatched with the theme.

for the art part i agreed to it as some pixels were there and i think i should fixed that but i didn't, i don't know i guess i was just to lazy to open the photoshop and remove that but whatever, for now  its done.

for the traffic light it just not working for me, if i added with the background it could be confusing as it would not show any dominance to the scene where it is a key component for the cutscene and color just don't working it for some reason  , i thought it would not mean that much to viewer but to think so many viewer notice that, it help me in future cutscene to care for small details also.

well there could be more if the jam gave us more than 5 seconds :) just kidding
