How is your game related to the Theme and Special Object?
I used "death loops" as the deja vu element. When the player dies, their recorded past movements repeat in that level. I used fruit as a way to earn extra lives.

The bird is cute! Normally I would say I don't love floaty platformers, but it's perfect for this! Really sold the effect.

Thank you! :)

This is such a cute game, and a great concept too! Only issue I found was your previous lives not pathing the exact same way you did, which caused problems for the water drip parts.

Thank you for the feedback!

Me encanta como se ve visualmente de verdad se ve muy muy lindo, aveces los sonidos se sobre ponen entre ellos, pero todo lo demas super bien

Gracias por jugar! <3

the visuals are really cute, expecially the phoenix animation! the concept is good even tough i would say that the black phoenix expires too fast and you can body-block it, it could have been better if u implemented a logic that made the black phoenix solid only when it stops moving. but overall? a cute and fun little game!

thank you for the feedback! <3

The wing animation is something else. A cute, fun game with a character perfectly chosen for the concept.

Developer

thank you so much!! :3

Cool game! I kinda nervous, that you take the same idea as in our game :'''3 But your realisation is a bit different. Like it!

Developer(+1)

Haha I promise there was no idea theft involved! XD I was surprised by how many submissions hinged around this similar concept, but even so, it's cool to see how it was implemented in different ways.

The game is good, but it's a bit difficult.

This is a really nice little platformer, the character design is also really cute and a phoenix is the perfect choice for a game with this mechanic

Thank you! <3

The game looks pretty cute and sound design is neat as well. The mechanic is cool for the concept but a little bit frustrating since the body you left behind expire so quickly it's pretty hard to catch up to it, and if your movement intersect with the past lives' movement it bugs out sometimes too, which forces a reset.

Thank you! Yeah the player/ghost interaction was a tricky one because I wanted the player to be able to jump on ghosts (requiring collision) but if you bump into them, that collision can throw off their recorded path. Your game got around that issue nicely by separating the mechanics!

Nicely done! Ghost physics are pretty buggy but for your first jam its wonderfull work. GG

Developer

Thank you! Yeah, I'd love to improve those, a lot of this I was learning on the fly (no pun intended) so I'm tempted to give it another go in the future when I have a little more experience under my belt.

Hey this was a very cool idea! Having to die to setup for the next level is a fantastic idea.

You should have the ghost pheonix start a second or two later to allow the player to get to position, although I could also be smarter about setting up my ghost haha.

Great Job!

Such a cool concept! I have seen similar games where your previous ghost repeats after you die, but i have never seen a game where you can interact with the ghost.

Very nicely done, and congrats on your first game jam! Being able to complete a game in a short timeframe is an accomplishment in itself.

The art and sound effects were well done, and I think the whole "use your previous self" mechanic fit perfectly with the jam theme. Reminded me of an old 2009 browser game called The Company of Myself

Great job! A prototype like this can easily be made into a full game.

Thank you so much! <3

Congrats on your first jam.

I really like the ghost implementation, however I couldn't get past the leaky level because my ghost kept glitching, but I liked the atmosphere.
