Im impressed at myself I can get 1 achievement.

All the invention sprites are lovely as well.

Tho I would like some block highlights on the junk component that I am using.

Nice game really.

Submitted(+1)

I have not seen before that you could add in game clickable links. Nor so far have I seen somone enable making multiple keybinds for an action! Truly impressive that maaack made such a versatile pause menu! The pixel artist was great at conveying emotions of the mechanic and creating nice looking inventions. Sounds felt in place without any outliers. I really appreciated the no timer and mark invalid items in accessibility menu!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! I am glad you found the accessibility options. I realized afterwards that not everyone would necessarily and the game could be frustrating without them.
If you are curious Maaack releases a template for anyone to use that has a lot of what was added in this game as far as menus and pause options. https://github.com/Maaack/Godot-Game-Template It was also called out in the credits (at least the minimal one that was used for this game)

Very ingenious take on the theme. The game feels very polished. The options are like the kind I see in full games.

The puzzles were fun but not very hard. I want more! :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and the kind words! Did you happen to get the better than developers achievement?

Submitted

I didn't, I'm not that good :)

Developer(+1)

It was my way to holding off making the game harder as a whole and giving a little more challenge to those that wanted it :)

Submitted

Interesting game. Got distracted by the inventor's nonsensical babbling at first. :D

Developer

Thank you for playing. That was kind of the point. Lots of fun nonsense

Submitted(+1)

Well done! Short but polished experiences work really well for a game jam!

Developer

Thank you for playing and the kind words.

Submitted(+1)

This is a solid submission, very polished. The art is great, the writing too. I appreciate the skip dialogue button and skip tutorial setting. And I like the different achievements, makes me want to get them all.

Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! We hoped the achievements would make you want to collect them all :)

Loved your entry! The GIF caught my attention on the submissions page heheh

I did have to click the blueprint to see the shapes at first to get my head around things but after that with the same items to place, I was able to smash though the stages!

Congrats on a great entry :)

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it and found the way to help understand the shapes. We like leaving little rewards for clicking around. Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Great concept and execution. I only wish the game was longer!

Developer

Thank you for playing. Out of curiosity would you have liked more puzzles of the same difficulty or continually more and more difficult? We considered adding rotation in or puzzles with more pieces but decided to keep things simple.

Submitted

I definitely support having more puzzle pieces, and larger puzzle 'templates'. Especially if you're able to come up with some that have multiple solutions. Rotating puzzle pieces is not a requirement in my mind. I think the difficulty was in a good spot for the jam. All though an extra few seconds on each puzzle would be nice, and keep the same game feel.

Just like how the game rewarded your final invention based on the number of puzzles you completed successfully, it would be awesome to further combine inventions you made into a "mega invention" that uses all of the completed puzzle pieces. This could be a more difficult puzzle than the ones that came before.

Hope that is helpful! Once again, awesome entry!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for that. The idea of taking the shapes of the pieces to make another thing is a great idea too. Really appreciate the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

This is such a fun game!! It felt so satisfying to solve the puzzles. I do wish there was a teeny bit more time but maybe its just a skill issue on my part. The graphics, sound effects, and writing were awesome!! I really enjoyed playing, awesome work!

Developer

I realized too late that the accessibility options are not as discoverable. Did you happen to notice that you can turn off the timer ending the round? I am glad you still enjoyed yourself. Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

I didn't realize! After reading your comment I went back and re-played with the timer turned off and was able to get the best ending by doing each puzzle (yay)! :D

Great submission! The art was beautiful, and the names of the items were awesome. The game had great polish.

Developer

Thank you for playing and the kind words!

Very polished game with beautiful art and presentation!

Thank you for the kind words and playing!

Awesome game, a bit short but great replayability :)

Developer

We leaned on people wanting to complete all the achievements for the game length probably too much. Glad you still had fun and thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Cute puzzle idea, creative art and inventions. Ended too quickly!

Developer

Thank you for playing. I agree unless you want to replay to master the game is quite short.

Submitted(+1)

I’m amazed of the name you found. Even an ending credit screen that i didn’t expect at all. And the small details like when the light is on, while short you really polish it almost making it a full game. The menu was really clean too.

Developer

Thank you for the kind words. The scope helped us have time for polish. One of my favorite parts is one of the endings gives you the inventor falling with the credits. Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+2)

This was a whole lot of fun and a clever use of the theme. I played through several times because I was enjoying it so much. I managed to get three different endings and all but three of the achievements.

Your options menu was really nice. I liked that you could add addition buttons for clicking. The ability to ignore the timer was a really nice way to let people play around without feeling rushed, as was the option to mark unused pieces. The dev timer was also fun to give myself in extra challenge.

The art and SFX worked really well for the game. The shapes of the pieces were clear, which made it easier to plan things quickly before moving anything. I loved the names of the items. Part of the fun of replaying was seeing all the different names you had.

I would have loved for it to have been a little longer, because it was such a fun game.

Developer(+1)

Wow, thank you for the detailed comments! I am curious which achievements you didn’t find? We realized after committing to the idea that the way to extend the gameplay time was more items (and custom art), but love to hear that you wanted it longer because it was so fun. Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

The ones I didn't get were "Faster than the devs", "I can see clearly now", and "You need to read the Manual".  I'm pretty sure I know how to get the "Faster than the devs" one, though acknowledge I just might not be fast enough to get that one.  The other two I haven't figured out yet, though I have a few ideas as to what they might be.

Adding more items and art would be awesome!

Developer(+1)

I put the faster than the devs one to stop myself from lowering the overall time. I realized while developing that I was a terrible measure of difficulty but if I turned on that mode I felt challenged so could leave the regular mode alone. That mode really means you have memorized the puzzles so can immediately place pieces.

My kids played and got all the achievements.  One of them discovered that if you had Dev Time selected before starting a new game, and then paused the game, you could select Ignore Timer and visa versa, and have them both show as being active.  The Ignore Timer seemed to take priority, regardless of which order you did it in.

Developer(+1)

That makes me so happy that your kids played and cared enough to break the options :). I’ll take that into account if we update the game.

Submitted(+1)

i think this game took a few years off of my lifespan LOL very fun game and fits the theme well though. hoped it was a lot longer, but this is great!

Developer(+1)

Hopefully the years were worth it :). Thank you for playing. We leaned into the achievements to give more playtime, but probably just needed to make more items too.

This fits the theme really really well, and super original. I like it! The artstyle is really cute, and I like the sound design. I was a bit slow at first and didn't get the first few shapes; being able to retry instead of having to proceed might be a good option. (But maybe not, I'm not too sure).

Great game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and the feedback. We thought about adding a level select screen to allow you to master specific puzzles but decided to offer an option to ignore the timer instead which you can access from the options menu.

Submitted(+1)

Oh okay, cool! I'll try that out. Thanks!

Submitted(+2)

Very cool idea, totally fits the theme too! I wish I would’ve had a bit more time on each puzzle, poor inventor never got what he asked for lol

Developer

Thank you for playing. Did you happen to check the options menu under the Game tab? We give an option to ignore the timer so you can take all the time that you need. Balance was a hard thing for this one, but I am glad you enjoyed the idea.

Submitted

Ohh I totally missed that, thanks for pointing that out! I’ll have to try the game again without the timer, and see if I can help the inventor this time :D

Submitted(+2)

Really cool and neat idea, I wish I had a little more time to build each item as I am not very smart, but I liked this a lot!

Developer

Thank you for playing. If you didn’t notice there is an option to ignore the timer in the options menu that might help in case you want to learn the puzzles without the stress of running out of time.

Nice game!
