Really satisfying camping in the left and spamming bombs. Camping left was broken until the boss showed up lol. Loved the attack indicators and overall the unique enemy types that you incorporated!

This game, while having inflated difficulty like an old arcade game, has like really good art! Like especially with main character, the boss and the explosion, they are all very well designed and animated. I also like how the theme asset fits with the artstyle here. In lots of the games I've played it looks pasted in ngl.
Fun but veryyyy challenging with 1 hp!
Lovely game, I think it is an awesome little project. I feel the jump's delay is part of a stylish choice to make it more difficult. If so, it did it perfectly! The final boss is also SUPER well made, but I can't tell if i died at the last second or if I won(I hope I won), maybe I just lost, but I do hope there is more of a reward to winning than just the same game over screen.
This game definitely has a lot of potential! I think it might need some music and the jump felt a little unresponsive, but other than that, it was pretty good!
It took me a couple of tries, but I finally beat the boss! The SFX, boss attacks, and player feedback were all really well done. Since the boss used ranged attacks instead of melee like the minions, I thought I could get in close and throw the bombs when he wasn’t attacking… but I was wrong 😄
Since the boss didn’t have a health bar, the battle stayed gripping all the way through!
Kinda difficult at the start but it was much easier to play with a controller. Didn't defeat the wizard boss yet but I am getting there. Really nice experience.
I (also) found the platforming more difficult than it should have been due to the delay in the jump, but I figured out a tactic eventually. Also it was a nice surprise to see the row of bombs stop me from platform hoarding. Kind of like the fireball in original Mario games. I didn't make it to the boss fight, but the game played as expected as a platformer with a lot of bombs. Once I found the J key, my strategy was pretty easily successful, but still didn't solve the first level, or make it too much further.
I would have liked the Arrow keys to work as well as A D, etc. Also, I believe it says to press any key to start, but I found I needed to hit space.
I'm so glad you got this submitted! I liked the gameplay and loved the visuals here, but I found the platforming more difficult than it should have been due to the delay in the jump. It seemed like the delay was due to the anticipation pose just before the jump, but in this case I'd have skipped it and had the player proceed right into the jump to make the controls feel more responsive. I'd definitely keep those anticipation poses in for any non-player characters though—they can really help telegraph the movement and give jumps a better feel. Thanks for making and sharing your game!
Thanks!! Yeah, the jump is a bit quirky, I initially thought of removing the anticipation entirely, but then I ended up changing it to be more lika in Jump King, where the longer you hold the jump button, the more it will wait and the further you'll jump, but if you tap the button you'll jump instantly but shorter. But I agree that maybe this kind of jump is not that great for an arcade-like game like this... I'll iterate on it after the rating period :D
Very good! Cute graphics, especially the wizard; also, his boss fight is very well done and thought out. The movement is really good, only the jump is a bit stiff, but I think it's intentional. Nice job!
I really liked this one! I could see myself playing this for a while with more content. I really loved how the jumping worked and the boss fight. Good job!!
The game was pretty fun for an arcade game, I enjoyed the artstyle and movement, but overall thought it could use some more polish. All in all, you did a great job!
