This game is a sincerely an inspiration. Consistent tone, useable room descriptions, great NPCs and unique art. 10/10, no notes.

Developer

High praise. I thank you warmly!

This is a true zine, really bold style that plays well with the theme of the jam! Honestly really cool that you went analogue, this kind of reminds me of reading early Nintendo Power magazines, great work!!

Developer(+1)

I am glad it did. Thank you!

when I first saw the hand coloured art, I was a little wary. Once I read the adventure however, I saw the quality. Extremely gameable and table ready. Well organized and uses the inspirations well. What it lacks in polish it makes up for in the material. I ended up being won over by the charm of the paper cutout style as well.

Developer

I appreciate it. Thanks for sticking with it past my amateur-hour cover and your impressions of it!

This is a really cool layout, the style is kind of 'borg like and it's honestly pretty fresh!

Developer

What I love of Borg games was not far from my heart as I made it. I'm glad you found it fresh, thanks!

First off the art and layout are really great. Lots of great detials like Meffery becoming hostile if blood gets into the pool. Really cool.

Developer

Thanks, the trap with the least-obstructive entry getting blood on the PCs' feet making the pool encounter more difficult/dangerous was a lot of fun to try to implement! I am grateful you liked it.

I love the premise of the game. Great introduction! Creepy room descriptions. The construction paper is fun and original and I love the cartoon style bomb.

Developer

Happy to hear you found it creepy and enjoyed the bomb item. Thanks for the feedback!

This is really good, NPCs have motivations and encounters are varied. The layout is a ton of fun. Excellent work!

Developer

Thanks so much, it means a lot! I strove for a usably lively world of relevant characters and engaging layout.

Love the layout and design of using photos of text overlayed on your drawings. Fantastic for a game jam that makes this really memorable.

I really enjoy the central location being a unique structure, but I don't know that I 'understand' it since it's supposed to be a statue but the floors are all squares. I may just need a Zoomed out view of the full structure to understand what's going on.

Either way, the dungeon it self would be easy enough to explain and navigate for my players. Dungeon design is good and I liked all design that went into the space.

Great job!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I imagined the structure as a stepped pyramid of three levels of square rooms that get smaller as you go up, with a single giant support pillar in the center of each level carved to look like a dragon standing on the ground with its head poking into the top level. There's an unlabeled (oops) sketch of the exterior of the ziggurat building on the last page, but I definitely think there could stand to be a single page or a spread or something that shows how the three levels connect via traversals and the pillar.

Thanks again for your helpful critique and your charitable assessment of what does work!

I really love the vibe of this! It really has a charm to it that I haven't felt in anything for a long long while.

Developer

Those are very kind words, thank you.

Fellow first jammer! The cover is so cool, I dig the cut & paste text with the colorful paper.

Developer

I appreciate it. It was fun to get out the craft supplies. I will definitely try to jam again!

charming and fun, love the tactile, handmade look. Good work!

Developer

Thanks, it was a blast to make!

Hope it reads and plays okay! It's my first game jam. As I say in the inspirations paragraph, I pulled Final Fantasy 2, Snake, Rattle n Roll, and Jūōki.
