Such a well-executed submission! You guys are indeed slick, might have to leave the game deving behind and open up a carwash!

If you got time and fancy hosting a radio show that will test how slick you truly are check out our submission !

Developer

Thank you so much! I would love to try your game, i tried to yesterday, but it made my laptop freak out and almost just break down completely. It's not your fault, i think it's a compatibility issue or something. Your game is one of the ones i was most excited to try out, but fate doesn't want me to play it i suppose.

Submitted(+1)

Oh no way thats a shame! Did it even open or was computer having none of it? I will speak to the homies about it, first i've heard of any major issues! I hope by some miracle it does work but if not good work on your submission a very slick one indeed!

Developer(+1)

it opened, and i was reading the tutorial, messing with the dials, talking, using sfx, and then boom screen flickering on and off, i turned off the game, the flickering kept going and it turned off completely which scared me to death lol, but i managed to save it, and then tried to play the game again, and the same thing happened, so i retraced my steps to save the laptop again and deleted the game, i did not rate your game as that would be unfair, and i did not comment because i did not want my singular experience to ruin the reputation of the game when everyone else loves your game. i hope your game is streamed by dunkey so i can see it there!

Submitted(+1)

Well i appreciate your honesty and sorry that happened im glad your laptop is safe and sound! I hope dunkey does get round to playing it too fingers crossed and i hope i see yours in the same video man!

Masterclass. Some of the best art and music ive seen in this jam. Incredible Work

Developer

thank you very much!!

I finally got around to playing this one, and I'm glad I did.

Just jumping right in, I appreciate that it was easy to get the hang of and simple to play. Whereas other games used racing cars to match the theme, I would've never thought a car wash + Power Wash sim + Undertale would work so well as a concept.

It's got some areas where it needs to be tightened up, but you could take this and turn it into a legit game!

Well done!

thank you so much!

FUCK the cutie patootie fr bro !!!!!

good game that will make you very accurate with mouse-controlled water hoses, a must-have skill in today's landscape

Developer

thank you, yes, very true, this game is actually training for the future of all jobs.

So slick ! Loved the enemy variety, and the visuals are amazing :)

The big circle enemy was easy to avoid though, just stay on the side. And I wished there were a bit more variety on the enemy movement. Otherwise super fun game !

Developer(+1)

thank you!! yeah enemy movements would be in there if we had just one more hour to work on the game lol, oh well.

Submitted

Ahah I totally get you. We could have done so much more in our game as well with just a little more time.

the shader backgrounds were so yummy...... (did u make them with dieback?)

Developer

Yes! Our programmer put me onto that amazing application. Then I looked at various YouTube videos and screenshots and made a bunch of random textures and colored patterns and plugged them in to dieback.

When I found something I was happy with, I screenshotted all of the layer settings, told him which textures I used, and then sent them to him to recreate in engine.

I loved the look of the game. The concept was interesting, and I liked the way the game felt. I wish I could've seen the timer during battles. I also didn't fully understand how the green parts work, sometimes it restored my time but sometimes it didn't.

Developer

Thank you so much!! There is a bug with the green bullets unfortunately. As for the timer, it was a deliberate design choice that was chosen to add more tension to battles, you can see the time left during the car washing, then get into a battle, and the longer you take and more damage you take, you get more tense while only guessing how much time you have left until you either lose or get back to car washing and see the damage. However, this timer has been brought up by multiple people, so i understand the annoyance that comes with this choice, we appreciate the feedback a bunch! Thank you!

Teeming with appeal, super fun, and well made to boot! None of those workin' at the car wash blues here.

Developer(+1)

thanks! this is the second song about a carwash mentioned in these comments. i did not even know there was one lol.

Submitted(+2)

Very neat, earthbound/undertale meets carwash sim

Developer

thank you for playing!

Cool ideas, very well polished and carry in a nice package. really like the designs of those monsters as well, well done I got a great time !

Developer

thank you! very happy you enjoyed it!!

Submitted(+2)

Yeah this is peak. I wanna grow up to be like you.

Developer

thank you. glad to be a role model i suppose lol.

Submitted(+2)

Very well executed ideas ! The art is really cute, the enemy patterns are diverse, not too challenging, i got my certificate on the first try 🚿

Developer(+1)

thank you! heck yeah, gamer af of you, could not expect less from the slictagon devs.

Submitted(+2)

Someone finally had the guts to ask "What if Undertale was actually slick?"

Stylish, polished, and slick as hell. The art, visuals, and music are perfection, trying to improve them would be futile.

The only bugs were minor ones that didn't hamper my enjoyment of the game at all (Green bullet bug; hey at least they didn't hurt me). I beat it first try because I Am Gamer 😎

Incredible job, you should all be proud. This is the stuff perfect ratings are made of.

Developer

thank you so much for such high praise, it really means a lot. very glad you had fun.

Submitted(+2)

Great game! There's a lot of attention to detail, and the mini-games were a good challenge. Well done!

Developer

Thank you! Very appreciated!

Slick game, Art was amazing really cool backgrounds and creative designs for the characters, great mechanics and great sound and a character with Kamina Glasses that's Slick

Developer(+1)

I had to pay homage to the squirtle squad. Coolest to ever do it.

wonderful car washing RPG game. penny is a bastard but i got into the swing of it enough to one-cycle her! i thought optimizing between car washing and RPG battle was interesting, and i hope there'll be more enemy movement patterns to hose down when you take the game further!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Had a wonderful time on stream, it was really fun.

Submitted(+2)

Super fun game, super frustrating when you run into penny several times (especially when you're sick, not slick :O).

Other than the obvious issue where the spray is off from the cursor and also sometimes accidentally hitting the rotate buttons when trying to hit dirt patches in the top/bottom corners it was a dam solid game.

Surprised you pieced it all together so well and so fast!

Developer

thank you so much!! glad you had fun!

Submitted(+2)

very fun, except for when I got the penny, had to fight it 5 times.

Developer

What do you mean? That's the best part. Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+2)

loved it! the presentation was really tight! the art is stylish and the battle backgrounds are cool! the gameplay is definitely fun (you can't really go wrong with bullet hell). the cool nickel and the penny had cool bullet patterns. having the grabbable green bullets adds great risk/reward. i do have a few notes, but they're just nitpicks.

i wish there was a bit more strategy to the car-washing segments, after a while it's pretty straightforward. the most interesting part was when i couldn't find a smudge of dirt on one of the wheels and was wondering why i couldn't go to the next level. maybe you could get attacked in the car-washing segment too?

to me the worry in a game like this is that the "minigame" part feels completely separate, and it's like playing two different unrelated games. i think you mostly dodged this by adding and subtracting time through the battles, making them feel tied together. if you were to develop this further, i'd just keep that limitation of "minigame" type encounters in mind, and maybe look for ways to more tightly couple them with the overworld. maybe something can still come after you in realtime in the overworld while you're battling, so you have to choose your battles carefully? just a thought!

this is very subjective, and balancing during a gamejam period is quite tough, but most of the bullet patterns felt a little easy. since hitting one bullet is by no means run-ending, by making the bullet patterns more challenging and balancing around that, you might be able to make the game more fun while not locking out beginner players, since they can still keep going even if they lose some time.

rock-solid entry, had a great time with it. thanks for making it!

Developer(+1)

thank you for the detailed feedback, it's deeply appreciated. you bring up very interesting points, and i do think you are right, for the sake of the jam, most people will play the game once and leave. but in a world where this is more developed, the nitpicks you mentioned would be big problems that would require deep thought and cleverly designed solutions. so i thank you for your input, it is a great help.

Submitted(+2)

Honestly my favourite game of the jam by far. Was super hard to stop playing and was giving me pure dopamine. 10/10

Developer(+1)

thank you so much!! that makes me happy! appreciate that you enjoyed it.
