this a great little arcade game! the visuals and sound effects are perfect, and i really like how you've been able to create an impressive variety of enemies with unique patterns of movement. i noticed one minor issue that might only be an issue for my browser (firefox) : on the Game Over screen i wasn't able to restart by pressing any buttons.

Hi! This is my second game for a game jam ever! I started a bit late, hope it's enjoyable.
I used a few assets I had lying around from unreleased projects, such as the fish sprites, as well as some new assets I made specifically for this one. Sounds were made with JSFXR, and music will (hopefully, if I have time to add it), be from Atelier Amacha!

Very cute and fun game! I managed to beat the boss and scored 1020. The sound design and visuals are outstanding and give it a strong retro arcade vibe.
At first I wasn't sure why I needed the ''Jump'' ability, but after a few runs it started to feel more like a dash, especially for dodging hazards. The boss fight is really polished and feels great to play. Awesome work!
Super cute art style and love the concept!! Your spritework is fantastic, which is why I wish I could see the fish that was caught for a little longer before the cat puts it away? Maybe there's some way to have it fade out instead of immediately disappear?
Only other thing might be a skill issue but I found the hitboxes for grabbing a fish to be a little inconsistent. Sometimes I would totally think I got the fish and then completely whiff, and other times I was super surprised and felt lucky that I was in range. Potentially a little circle highlighting player ranger at the base of the cat sprite could fix this? But ultimately I found it to be pretty fair and fun!

Cool game, nice variety of enemies requiring different approaches. A tip for the sfx, if you can add some random variation in pitch, it helps reducing the felling of repetitiveness. Good work!
Nice game really fun and enjoyable to play. I got 800 my first try. I will give it another go for sure. Great job with the jam project :)
I got 890 points!
The controls are simple, but the variety of fish and gear made it super fun! The fish you have to hold down to catch—the button mashing and the cat visuals were adorable, and they were my absolute favorite.
What a cute little game! I had fun with it. You can watch my playthrough here: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2694872276?t=01h42m14s
Fun game! I think it would be really interesting if the game kept going and spawn multiple bosses.
Fun idea! boss kicked my butt. I would love some ability to see how close I was to catching the boss when it finally beat me up. Good work!
A simple but very effective game! It does a lot with very little, and those are my favorite types of games. The different attack and movement patterns of the fish kept the game consistently fresh. The boss fight was surprisingly tense as well! The only real complaint I have is that I think you forgot to disable the debug info on the boss
