This game absolutely blew my mind! It’s simple yet incredibly intriguing, the visual work is stunning: the animations (grass, particles, character) are subtle but meticulously executed, it has parallax to, unbelieable!!

The art style is creepy and unique, I love how you created such a dark, beautiful atmosphere with a limited color palette. That lighting transition in the first level was cheff kiss for me, it was so eye-pleasing. The contrast between the gloomy forest and the retro-tech (radars, computers, elevators) is brilliant, and the genetic lab at the end really nailed the tension. Also, the storytelling is great! it ties every beautiful aspect of the game together perfectly.

The audio is exquisite, both the music and the SFX, helps a lot to set the ambience. One bit of constructive feedback: I’d suggest refining the jump mechanics. I actually like the 'charge' jump, but the air control feels a bit stiff, and sometimes the distances between platforms leave very little room for error. Smoothing out the handling in the air would make the platforming feel much more rewarding.

Honestly, I can’t believe a solo dev pulled this off in just 7 days. This is easily one of the best games I’ve played in the jam. You definitely have a chance to win category a deserve a spot in the Brackeys video ! Incredible work!

Thanks a lot for the kind words and the suggestion! Smoother jump handling in the air sounds like a great idea, and I'll try to work on that. It might take a couple more game jams to get it right. Thanks again, I really appreciate it!

Great art! Very Limbo-y. I got stuck in the first screen because i pushed the box in the spikes and even dying didn't reset its position lol.

Developer

Thanks for the bug report! I'll take a look at it.

Great job!!

I really enjoyed art style and the story!

The only issue I noticed was that the main character rarely got stuck in the ground in Area 3.

I wish there had been some kind of restart button available.

Overall, though, I had a great experience!

Developer

Noted. Thanks a lot for the feedback!

I really like the art, animations and music. The controls were simple.

I played through the whole game without using the 'press S+Space-bar' control. Maybe add something to the game which would require the player to use that.

Overall, a fun game with a good horror atmosphere, it fits the theme nicely.

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing and for taking the time to share your feedback!

I love the art so much omg and ellies kind of reminds me of shida kohaku's take on sumino from gozyuger???? idk if you know that but ellies looks amazing!

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing! Really glad you liked the art :)

Wow, a single person did this!

Now I have to go back to most games I rated and bring their visuals note down because I can't give this game 6.

Very reminiscent of Limbo, although it's pixel art and much more challenging in terms of timing/dexterity. Which, tragically, I lack, I'm stuck at level 5 :'(

Developer

Really appreciate the feedback and the kind words! Level 5 is pretty much the last level, I'll make sure to revisit the puzzle and hazards and adjust them later.

I don’t know how else to say this, so I will do it in the most straightforward way possible: I would absolutely play a FULL VERSION of this game. The story really got me hooked, the atmosphere was well designed, and the environmental art was just beautiful. It also reminded of a short story I wrote once, so maybe that’s why it resonated with me so much. Thank you for trying out my game!

The art style is really cool and atmospheric, the style reminded me of LIMBO. I love how the visual progression in each level subtly tells a story and leaves room for interpretation. Really nicely done!

Thank you very much!

I loved this game, no less. The atmosphere, visuals, animations, sound effects all are top notch.

Nothing to critique here, this is easily one of the best games from this jam that I played so far!
