How does the game fit the theme?
The ability of the avatar is trivial, the mechanics focused on the STRANGE PLACES - the non-linearity of the map.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Well well, if it isnt me softlocking myself with the box immediately xD
The controls and visuals are super clean/polished, my favorite detail are the physics on the arrows after they hit a wall ^^
I the end my brain got overwhelmed by all the teleporter chains tho...
Thanks for your comments, I am glad if you had a good time!
Now the Jam ends, going to polish the physics implementation and the level design!
Last minute rating here! ;)
Those colored floors are trippy! this actually had more depth than I expected. It's really chill, with some simple puzzles. overall very unique. nice job.

I love the way that I make a mistake and try another way to pass the level in such a fun way. And colored floor transportation mechanic is very nice and innovative. Really great work!

the colored floor that transport the player is a very cool mechanic, i also enjoyed the non linearity of the maps and the checkpoints and challenges in between, the graphics and sounds are super charming as well!

This game is really clever and the graphics are pretty charming too! I would've liked for the portals to be more visually clear maybe, I didn't really understand what was happening and the sound effect is a little obnoxious. But other than that, the level design is amazing, well done and keep it up!
Thanks for your comments, I am glad if you had a good time!
Now the Jam ends, going to polish the game later! All the problems you mentioned are marked down (portal clarity, annoying sound effect), more efforts would also be made to improve the physics implementation and level design!
Great level design! I think it fits the theme perfectly. The Pi room is a very clever secret. It's hard to find unless you've already played through the game and learned how the portals worked. It's also a very difficult room with lots of portals, so it makes sense that you'd want the player to master this skill before they find it!
I had a lot of fun playing. Well done!
Thanks for your comments, I am glad if you had a good time!
More efforts will be made on the level design in later development, hoping I could publish a better polished Post-Jam!
Okay.. The first time the sound effect of switching to a different location played.. SCARED ME! My favourite puzzle was the PI one. Although some puzzles (like the arrows) were hard to nail. Maybe I just used the boxes wrong because I can't jump over the crossbow?
Very interesting game! Well done!

I will definitely change the teleportation sound later, I also find it quite annoying now...
Hoping I can publish a polished Post-Jam version!
Visuals
1 ... (main menu): add direct mouse feedback mouseHover/mouseClickad
2 ... (game): character feels static (no animations) -> something like fullscreen shaders, character animation would fix this.
3 ... (game): pressing R is instant teleport -> add some feedback what is happening.
3.1 . Example: fullscreen shader (darken shockwave,..) with some kind of character animation which teleports from <Current Position> to <Restart Point>.
Design
1 ... maybe scale down visible area -> to see smaller space of game -> or extend size:
1.1 . now it feels like its all stacked up in small space (is this intended?)
2 ... I don't get this instant TP on red carpet (add more <user feedback -> animations> when applying action cause now it feels like I have low control of character)
3 ... maybe starting with simpler levels instead of very complex one would pull me more into the game.
4 ... tip: darker colors lose <eye focus> & brighter colors gain <eye focus>:
4.1 . example: walls are darker & playable area is brighter
Controls
1 ... works but are little off. Are you using only something like Unity Physics engine only?
Sound
1 ... simple & works for short duration but becomes repetitive very soon.
Bugs
1 ... I think you are missing tile type:
S == Stone, 0 == Empty
S00
000
00S
2 ... running into box on spot does NOT move box -> but if you run from distance box goes flying
Thanks very much for your careful play and detailed feedback, these feedback would help me to a lot to polish the game! I have marked all of them down, they will be seriously taken into consideration.
The poor physics implementation causes lots of weird bugs, introducing unpleasant experience, which has been complained by many players. Only the Godot Physics Engine is used now, I didn't add too much code for the physics interaction. More efforts are definitely required on finding better physics paradigms.
i really like the pixel art and the concept of stepping away from colourful lines teleports u (tho i found it a bit confusing to say the least). i only managed to get 7 envelopes (mainly bc its impossible/REALLY HARD to backtrack). also, the sfx of teleportation can be a bit annoying so maybe add variations of it. overall, really nice concept which gets fun at the start but eventually gets overwhelming as u carry on...
Thanks for your comments, the feedback can really help me to polish the game!
The suggestion about the teleportation sfx really matters, I will definitely change it.
The current level is not "connected" enough, the whole structure is still too linear, not allowing player to cross different areas. Apart from that, it just became really hard to come up with innovate level design during the end of the Jam, because the core mechanics provides limited design dimensions. To continue, more efforts are required on adding interesting and potential mechanics
I will keep working on it, hoping I can publish a better Post-Jam version later!
yw :)
Fun little puzzle game , Great job !
Thanks for your comments, I am glad if you had a good time!
Funny game! I was very scared by the sound of the teleporter
Thanks for your comments, I am glad if you had a good time!
And thanks for the sound feedback, it will be changed later!
Great job! The teleport mechanic was very well implemented and the level design was great. Very enjoyable
Thanks for your comments, I am glad if you had a good time!
The level designs are great!
I really liked how the reset option is integrated as a part of the gameplay rather than just a normal unstuck option.
Great work!
Thanks for your comments, I am glad if you had a good time!
I also quite like the small puzzle segment involving the Reset; and if possible, I would continue to explore the possibility of utilising it in later Post-Jam!
Awesome! The levels merge together really well! It’s incredible you built it with such short amount time.
I found 7 red packets — and two more left are one I can’t figure out how to reach (in the sec last level with two box) and another I can’t even find at all haha. And I really like the moment of going back to the same place with different gravity directions making you can access new paths/areas. Great work!
Thanks for your comments, I am glad if you had a good time!
More efforts are required on the physics interaction implementation and level design, I will continue to polish the game, and publish a better Post-Jam version in the future!
Here is the developing map, maybe it can help your exploration!
Wow this is the most well designed platformer I have played so far! Really nice job with the level and puzzle designs, loved the teleport carpets you can jump over and the resetting box mechanics.
Thanks for your comments, I am glad if you had a good time!
Very cool game, and it was pretty fun! I did sometimes run into a bug where the box would get stuck on the floor, but jostling it around or resetting would fix it. I also found teleporting was a little confusing because it doesn't teleport you as soon as you step on it and its hard to know where it will teleport you. But other than that, it was pretty fun!
Thanks for your comments, the feedback can really help my later development for the Post-Jam!
More efforts are definitely required to find a better physics implementation, the current one causes lots of weird bugs, introducing unpleasant experience. Fixing this is the FIRST thing on the TODO list.
For the portal, it teleports the avatar not when you step on it, but when you leave it, which is kind of a special flavor or twist for the game. In this part, I set a design principle "Half-predictable". Most of the time, I want the player to be able to infer where the portal goes based on the hints from color and edge direction. On some occasions, the portals can lead to strange places, where the player can start a new adventure, but which also would be turned out to be closely connected in the whole map. In later development, I would also improve the level design part.
Thanks again for your time, and hope I can publish a better version later!
Very enjoyable game. Has great feel to it. Good job!
Thanks for your comments, I am glad if you had a good time!
Very cool! I really enjoyed the game, it was really fun. Great job!
Thanks for your comments, I am glad if you had a good time!
Really clever platformer! Ran into some issues with creates getting stuck but a quick respawn fixed that. Great job on getting the player movement to feel pretty polished and the level design was quite enjoyable.
Thanks for your comments, I am glad if you had a good time!
More efforts are required on finding a better physics implementation, the current one causes lot of bugs, introducing some unpleasant experience. Many people have complained about this, and it's definitely the first task on the TODO list when developing the Post Jam. Hoping I can publish a better polished version in the future!
That was so much fun! Awesome! Best game ive played so far :)
Thanks for your comments, I am glad if you had a good time!
I will definitely call my game "the best", especially after playing yours, which creates very remarkable atmosphere and I love it so much!
More efforts are required to polish, I will focus on the physics interaction implementation and level design. Hoping I can publish a better Post-Jam version in the future!
