Really fun and felt very polished compared to a lot of the other platformers I've played from this jam. It's the little details like variable jump heights and the dust clouds when you land. And all the variety in the kind of jumping challenges to overcome. Great work getting that much stuff done!

My one complaint is that the music restarted every time you jumped worlds. The future world had an absolutely bumping soundtrack, and I wanted to hear the rest of it😔

Hey, in case you weren't able to listen to the full future world song, I've posted the songs on my soundclound profile, here's the link: https://on.soundcloud.com/OotCj6Cajh3UxDIdGN

Very cool and clean art style. Nice character, too. I completed up to mid-level 3, and it was quite fun. Enjoyed your jump challenges—they are not too difficult, but have a wide variety.

The title screen presentation looked great. The cutscene art looks really good too. It has a slightly moody, storybook feel that fits the whole fractured-time idea really well.

The dimension shifting was really fun. Swapping worlds feels instant and seamless. I really liked that the two realities share the same foundation but still have clearly different aesthetics. Level design does a really good job at utilizing the phase shift to its fullest. The platforming was fair and balanced. Just the right amount of challenge.

Small detail, but I liked the little SFX when tutorial text popped up. It's subtle, but it added so much to the game's polish. And thank you for the checkpoint, dying never felt punishing, just a quick reset and try again.

This was a really smooth experience. Well-executed concept with clean design and good feel. I enjoyed this quite a bit.

What a great platformer. The mechanic of switching between worlds is very fun, especially when you have to do it mid jump. The art and music were also very good. Great job to the team!

Congratulations on your game! It's a very challenging platformer, especially with the world-switching mechanic.

One suggestion is that instead of resetting the music when switching worlds, you could have both tracks play simultaneously, one at zero volume and the other at high volume. That way, when switching worlds, you just invert the volume; the one that was high goes to zero and the one that was zero goes to high. This helps avoid repetition and also gives us the chance to listen to the music until the end. We did this in my game, as it has a similar mechanic. Congratulations. Your work is very good.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I also think that would be the better way to do the music switching

Nice job, I really enjoyed that mechanic

This was nice. I liked the swap mechanic, and think it could be really great with some  tighter movement and quicker gameplay. My only big criticism is that it did hurt my eyes a bit to swap continuously. It might help to tone down the color differences.

Good job!

I've seen platformers like this before where you have to switch dimensions, but this game was a bit nicer because you could see where platforms were in the other dimension before switching. You guys did a good job creating two unique and strange environments.

One thing is that I didn't realize you could also pull boxes in addition to pushing them (I thought it was just push), so the puzzle with the 3 different sized boxes stumped me for a bit.

Fellow godotneer!!

Looks like we both made a 2d platformer in Godot.

The art was the standout, super cute. The mechanics were great, sadly I felt that the controls were a bit awkward, especially having to move left while pressing Q, my fingers were breakdancing at parts.

Over all great experience!!!

Cute artwork! Love the concept of switching the dimensions

Cool concept and very cute!

Solid across the board! I appreciated that the platforming challenges started a bit easier to give time to learn the dimension swapping.

This was really fun! I especially love how the music changes between worlds. Great job!

Making an entertaining platformer is a very complicated task nowadays. There are just so many of them on the market and they kind of used all the potential of the genre already. Still, not a bad entry.

What was good:
- I really like the visuals! Good job!
- It's nice that you can always see what's going on in another dimension to plan your actions. There are many Jam entries with the same idea, and most of them forget that the player should always know when to switch to another dimension for the game to be fair. Thankfully, you got this part right! GG!
- Liked the music playing in main menu and the cyberpunk dimension or whatever it's called
- Most of the time the character controls feel smooth

What could be improved:
- The prehistoric (yellow) dimension has a very "heavy" music theme. You don't feel it at first, but after switching back and forth between the dimensions for a while, the first beats of the yellow dimension music tire you out
- You don't really feel the progression. In such games, it's very important to introduce new mechanics with each level - just jumping on platforms and swapping dimensions gets old pretty quickly
- In my opinion, the object pushing mechanic you have was underused. After the tutorial part where I had to push a barrel to proceed, there were no segments requiring use of that ability for quite a while. As a result, when I actually stumbled upon a segment where I needed to push a big safe and another yellow barrel towards a high wall to pass, I got stuck for 10 minutes or so, because to that time I already forgot that object pushing mechanic even exists in the game.

Still, if the itch.io page is not wrong and that's your first game - it's a solid start!

Something I love: I love the menu music! I also love the walking animation and art style (Especially for the trees for some reason? lol). I love the different dimensions and the jarring music / visual change (The music here is so good lol). I love how the background art's moon and sun are in the same location but polar opposites, great touch!

Bugs I found:

1. After dying and respawning the player jumps continuously for a couple seconds.

Overall: This was a cool little platformer with a really cool dimensions mechanic! I really liked it! Keep up the great work!

I like the the switching mechanic! But I got stuck after the 4th crystal, could not figure out hot to get up (probably a sill issue) 🥲

Developer

thanks for the feedback! The game is a bit hard you're not wrong.

I enjoyed the switch mechanic and art but after the third crystal I gave up, too much platforming for my taste. Really liked the city music tho, such a banger

Developer

glad you liked the song!
