very impresive visuals

Hey, I just tested both the downloaded and the web versions. I ran into a movement bug in the downloaded build (the character kept running to the left) , which didn’t happen in the web version.

Anyway, the game is really interesting and I like the concept a lot. Solid entry, well done!

Very cool concept with the endless runner! The gameplay was super enjoyable, and the theme was spot on. I some of the actions were a little bit clunky at times, like jumping mostly. But a very well put together game for the span of a week!

Va! Va! Va!!

I really enjoyed the game. Great job!

First of all, you finished a game that looks great overall — and achieving that in just 7 days is impressive. Great job!

Things I liked:

  • I really like your approach to the theme and the way the story is presented. The voice actors did a great job, and all the elements feel cohesive and aligned toward the same creative direction.

  • The mechanic of opening doors using different combinations feels unique and fresh, and it is well implemented.

Constructive Feedback:

  • It took me some time to understand how to open the doors. Once I figured it out, it felt intuitive, but I would recommend refining the early level design to better teach the mechanic through gameplay, especially in the first few doors.

  • I would also suggest differentiating the door symbols not only by shape but by color. Additionally, you could display the control/color combinations in the UI during the first levels. This would help players understand the mechanic more quickly and reduce the time spent trying to remember which symbol corresponds to each mouse button.

The door symbols are stylized version of the keys you're supposed to press, left, middle and right mouse buttons (and Q in the web version). Maybe they should've been even more explicit. The game could do with a gentler introduction though, that's for sure. We didn't get around to building bespoke tutorial rooms but that's something we'll keep in mind if we ever revisit the game. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback!

Nice game! loved the art! it was very cool and fun, good job :)

That is such a weird looking game, I love it! But for the life of me I could not figure out how to open these damn vertical gates, but at least I figured out the gameplay by myself by randomly pressing buttons on the keyboard and mouse heh. Didn't expect to hear professional voice acting in a game jam game, but that was good. As a fellow dev that submitted a weird corridor horror game, I approve!

Developer(+1)

Hey ToasterHead,

Thanks for playing, you can open the gates by pressing space on the bells hanging from the ceiling :)

Submitted(+3)

I really enjoyed the game, it was quite impressive how much detail you got done in the week you guys had, but i think the different magic spells could have been explained better at the start with a tutorial.

Submitted(+3)

What a great game! The art direction reminds me of Superliminal or The Stanley Parable

Very fun game, the theme is so stupid I love it. (I got like 850 and then got stuck on some boxes ha)

The shifting powers depending on which room you are in are really fun tho constantly opening doors got quite repetitive, still very impressive especially for a game made in a week!

Also the music is great!

Really impressive game! It feels super polished and thoughtfully designed

the spells took me some time to understand, but once I did, it was a lot of fun.

My longest distance travelled was 300 slightly embarrassing I know 😅

Submitted(+1)

This was very fun took a few tries to figure out, but I got to about 500 distance travelled and couldn't progress because of some metal bars, but I may have missed something tho.

Developer(+1)

You should be able to open all metal gates. Look for a bell nearby, and use your special ability (Spacebar) to trigger it!

Hey, amazing job, guys! I enjoyed that runner game very much. I think I ran up to 600 m or something, and it was cool.

I liked: the visuals, game design, room design, runes, the feeling of running, and sound!
I didn't like:  that if you skip all the dialogues at the start, the speech doesn't disappear and goes over other dialogue lines, so it's like a market where everyone screams. Also, I am not sure if it is intended, but I met obstacles I couldn't run past. Like I was trying to return and find the other path, but I was dying in the fog. Let me know if there was a way around or I was just meant to die xd

Developer(+2)

Thanks for the kind words! Unless you found a bug, there shouldn't be dead ends. Make sure you use your special abilities (Spacebar).

Submitted(+3)

Was interesting and impressed you made it all! I am unsure if anyone has said, but if you click through the dialogue it starts to overlap and it becomes quite intense!

Developer(+2)

Thank you! Fixing that was on our todo-list but we didn't get around to it before the deadline. Let's just say it's Ravenna and her ghostly friend getting into a shouting match if you click too fast.

One of the baddest! Game's so fun and I loved the witch's voice using the spells! Still (and I swear is not my skill issue!!) I would definetly go for some fine tunning in the movement and hitboxes.

If the nowhere witch get's tired of running, she should definetly go for some nowhere cuisine! ~_0

This game is so cool! The face paced action is very fun and I liked getting better and better at performing spells.

Definitely one of the best Brackeys games I've played. I tried pushing to see if it was random or if there was an end point, and my best result was 1284, don't even know if this is good, but god damn the "vali" "vali" "vali" in the water was so frustrating, especially when you're 1000+ and you get 4 times in a row the water area. Anyway, you did a really great job, visuals are well polished, audio fit really well, and the gameplay is great, a leaderboard would have been top notch.

Submitted(+3)

Really enjoyable! I especially liked the voice acting and music, they even made the experience a lot better. It was definitely a bit confusing at first, but once i understood the symbols it felt really obvious. The movement and camera sensitivity were a bit jittery I noticed. But really well put together!

I love the concept, mixed with a Mirror's Edge like and more mechanics and I'll buy it ! (This world needs more Mirror's Edge like T_T)
