How does the game fit the theme?
This game takes place in the MeatLands, a very strange place indeed.
What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?

Strange! I liked the enemy design lol
What a strange place, for sure! Definitely nailed the theme. I enjoyed the visuals and the concept. It was just missing a crosshair to aim the gun with.
I had the time of my LIFE hunting free range meat slinkies. I would love to see more of the MeatLands, like other kinds of meat beasts, or other incentive to explore the environment more. I also appreciate the burlap texture, I feel like it tracks well for a very 'meaty' environment, as many textiles would. Unfortunately, some of the other textures you provided didn't show up for me, such as the wires and the spaghetti itself, so I did miss out on part of the experience. There are a lot of opportunities for expanding and polishing this game, and I hope you do!
Thanks! I never actually ended up using the wires texture, but i accidentally ended up adding it to the credits anyways. The spaghetti is actually used for the floor texture, heavily modified to look like something meaty.
i came back to my living room but didn't find spaghetti :(
honestly this is the theme winner for me lol. I've seen like 7 space games, 5 games with hidden parallel dimensions, but a shooter inside a meat grinder is definitely the strangest
first improvements i'd recommend would be a crosshair, faster enemies, and either some old italian folk music or death metal.
was fun, good job!
also ran well on linux :)
I think it would've been helpful to have some UI to know where you are aiming, the gunfighting felt very awkward without it. Definitely an idea that no one else would think of probably, so good job on that :)
