very unique, i enjoyed the art, ambience, wandering around and exploring.
Interesting idea and well executed. Good job !
Really good concept with great execution. The gameplay was great, but my brain would have short-circuited if conteinued any longer
(Question does the game have an ending or loop endlessly)
It has 2 endings, after 3rd dream, depending on your answers :)
Thanks for playing!
Really cool concept with a fun loop. I liked how once I learned what I was looking for my mind quickly tried to develop strategies to remember everything. I also love the extra work you put into the story of the ritual. I think it could be nice to have some summary at the end of a run saying what or how many you got wrong because the sky color for example is a bit hard to discern (I thought it was brown and then that wasn't a choice).
Very cool gameplay concept of entering a dream, memorizing the environment, and then waking up to answer questions about it. That core idea is creative and stands out right away.
The atmosphere and setting are genuinely unsettling in a really effective way, which fits the theme perfectly. It creates a strong sense of tension without overdoing it.
Overall, it's unique and well done, great work!
I'm shocked! That's nearly the same with our game for this jam, but in first person! Obviously I love the idea, loved the generated dreams. And of course reporting back is a good little touch! You need to pay attention to your environment.
Art was well done, UI was not complicated. Overall a very nice experience and loved it!
The atmosphere was quite nice coupled with the brief story introduction and dialogues. In the first dream i was totally confused about what to look for, so when i came back and i had to remember stuff i tried my hardest to recall! I think as a puzzle game of sorts the idea works and i didn't find it as confusing as other games i've played during this jam. As others have suggested maybe some sort of clues on what went wrong or how many mistakes are allowed could go a long way, good job!
The generated dreams have a nice mysterious mood going on and the ambient audio fits the energy well too. Waking up and having to recall details of the world is clever. It made me slow down and pay attention instead of just wandering. Definitely challenged my memory more than I expected lol. Also appreciated the mouse sensitivity option.
The in-between story was cool too and the art chosen for those scenes fit the whole vibe wonderfully. This is a cool idea. Interesting concept.
My memory cannot support me playing this game XD. But I see the vision. I think the gameplay can be improved, but the other areas were great. Especially liked the weird atmosphere, fits the theme really well!
It's interesting concept, but couldn't complete it. Fall below ground once on dream 3, damn. But yeah, some feedback on how much you failed would be nice, but as was said before, it's kinda could trigger player to just restart(which I was thinking I would do, actually). Liked ambience audio too.
I tried 4 times I failed every time, not sure why I would love some feedback when I pick the wrong answer so I can learn for the future. For example which structure is a shrine and which one counts as a tower. Sometimes I also struggled hard with the color of the sky, I asked even my partner for a help and she struggled with it. I love the idea behind the game though, that is a fantastic use of theme. The atmosphere with ambiancecreates these extreme feeling of visiting this alien, odd, literally strange place, and makes you feel uneasy which I loved. I hope you guys are working on a post jam version and if you do my main request would be a some sort of feedback for the player when they pick wrong option, so I as a player can learn from my mistakes. Overall very good job guys, you can be proud of your game.
Thank you very much!
Got similar feedback from some of my friends, and it's a bit tricky with giving a feedback after incorrectly guessing a dream, as it would essentially serve as a trigger to restart, the game configured in a way if one or two mistake were made, you can still get the good ending. However what we could (and probably) should have done better, is to provide a tutorial dream, that will have an instant feedback, that will let player to understand the difference in buildings / colors. So thank you very much, your feedback is very appreciated, and I'm sure we will act on it after jam!
You can also have a summary screen at the end of the session, so after ending it could tell you how many mistakes were made or something, or hint at what was wrong to not spoil the game to much ;)
Awesome concept! Going into different dreams, exploring around, then trying to remember the details and fill in the text, it fits the theme super well! It reminded me of those moments when you wake up from a really good dream and try hard to remember all the detail — Really Cool!
If you want to continue for in the post jam, there's one possible small improvement I can think of:
Maybe could add more variation to the questions/prompts, and some unrelated objects in the dream space? Cause as long as I start to remember the question, I can go straight to the target and “wake up”, so the exploration would start to become straightforward after a few runs! Adding more noise/false object might make the it feel more dream-like and having more depth!
Still, I really love the concept! Great work!
Thanks a lot!
Really vibed with the aesthetic here, reminded me of an old game called Proteus. Pretty in-depth system for matching the environment during the awake segment, super intuitive and fun to finally remember all the little details. Good job!
Cheers for that!
Gameplay: Simple and yet engaging. I didn't expect the memorization, but I was definitely hooked by dream 2.
Audio: Perfect for keeping the player in the atmosphere of the environment without becoming annoying oppressive. Great work.
Theme: This game was unique and kept me engaged and searching for better answers and better outcomes.
Overall: Great game for the jam!
Thank you for such extensive feedback!
I liked the vibe. I had a hard time remembering though, and failed him.
gives the feeling of being in a dream :D
Very interesting game, really trippy atmosphere. Enjoyed! :D
Cheers!
Super interesting concept, made me think of LSD Dream Simulator. I like the random generation plus the guessing/creating of the next scene? I was trying to figure out which and let master down :(
But it was cool, you should definitely take this concept further with more polish, I could see a horror youtuber playing this.
Thanks for that! We will consider possible expansion of this idea in future :)
Nice concept, wow atmosphere! Really great work
Thanks a lot!
