I love the visual feedback when you are done, or like when you have a mistake - (the critters being sad).

The whole look of the game is very polished and well done! I would make some minor bug fixes that I saw were already mentioned and I would disable the option to click on a tile and show a critter even if none is chosen atm.

I got so many mistakes because I would click on a tile and it would just put the top critter there even without being selected!

Overall, well done!!!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll rework the auto selection of the top critter during phase 2.

Absolutely loved this one! Sudoku with adorable fruit creatures? Heck, yeah! The art is lovely and the music and sound effects  fit the aesthetic and gameplay very well. Everything works  smoothly and is very polished. I had only one small issue: When having a creature selected, the highlight on the same type creatures makes it a bit harder to see what type of tile they're on, which is more relevant in the later levels. Maybe lower its opacity a bit or add a drop shadow instead of a color square? Just a tiny suggestion. Either way, I really enjoyed this game (played like an hour, ngl).

My favorite of the jam. 😊 See you in part 2!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to improve the clarity by replacing the placeholder color squares with something better during phase 2.

I really like the sound effects and music. One suggestion is to make bigger boards and also allow one to place multiple items in the same square. Many online sudoku games allow you to write multiple numbers in the same square.

Thanks for the feedback, the sfx and music used are: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/audio/sound-fx/universal-sound-fx-17256 and https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/audio/music/orchestral/ultimate-game-music..., you can check them out if you are interested, really good collections. I'll add the note function to TODO for phase 2.

Lovely! Sounds can be a bit too loud sometimes, though. But other than that - awesome

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback, I'll look into the loud sound.

Wow! This game is so good and polished! I can’t even suggest anything! I’m quite bad with sodokus so just the first 2 levels took me 20 minutes with several retries! But I was hook. I was hoping to save my progress for later so I tried and it does! That is amazing!

I like the small changes on the gameplay like the no touching between the apple and strawberry, I was quite surprise!

Very good job with this game! I can totally see it as a commercial game!

Thanks for the feedback, I'll try to add more interesting rule during phase 2.

Fun game! Wish there was a way to to premark areas, most sudoku games have a way to mark temporarily, that doesn't count as a placement as to not hurt your score. Cute Graphics and awesome twist on the genre! You may also consider making the mouse turn into the equipped item/character. Thanks! Excited for what you do in round 2!

Thanks for the feedback! The visual cue for current selected creature definitely needs improvement. I'll look into the note function in phase 2 as well.

Turns out you don’t need to drag just click and it will place which made thing easier but as someone who plays sudoku I loved this game! the addition of extra rules like the flower tiles and pieces not being placed next to each other was a great change of pace. Also the art is fantastic, Bluebird is the most adorable thing i have ever seen!!!

Thanks for the feedback, glad to hear you enjoyed playing it. The drag and drop was added pretty late since I wanted to try some cute interactions when pick them up, but I ended up doesn't have enough time to finish the feature and it's quite buggy. I'll try to improve it in phase 2.

As a casual sudoku enjoyer, this game is great! I love the art and the soundtrack and basically everything about it. It feels super cozy and cute ! The only little nitpick I have is that one bug when you drop in  the last one of a kind.

Something you could add in the future would be the ability to take notes (similarly as you can with sudoku) especially if you want to add in more complicated puzzles.

What I really appreciate are the little extra rules you added in, especially the fact that there were visual cues for them afterwards.

So overall you did really really well, great job!

Thanks for the feedback, the bugs will be addressed during phase 2 for sure, I'll add notes to my TODO list as well.

replacing the numbers with incredibly cute  art of fruit animals unfortunately does not make me any better at sudoku, i still suck a lot so i unfortunately can not get far enough to give good feedback. presentation is amazing though, great job there.

Thank for the feedback, the difficulty curve definitely needs work later.

You probably already know about that but I got this bug a bunch of times where the floating image (circle) of the last placed item (arrow) gets stuck until you place the next one. I have no idea what could be causing it. Also maybe you should put the center of the image of the dragged item where the cursor is and not the corner. Otherwise really cool game the animations look really smooth and the puzzle mechanics are really fun.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll fix the dragging offset and stuck bug.
