I played this the other day and it's still popping into my head. I like character art (average-looking, yet still distinct, people) a lot, and the concept is very interesting. The speech bubbles around a shared bar table, the sometimes humorous dialogue between more series topics, the character expressions—it all came together brilliantly!
I managed to get the good ending first try! Having it be mechanically challenging to pick the most thoughtful answer was a fun choice to simulate Reg's hesitancy to go against the grain.
I'd love to see a longer version of this (I know, I know... game jam lol) that allows the toxicity more time to sink in. I thought Reg's monologuing near the end was a little on-the-nose, but it makes sense considering the brevity of the game. I also got to the end and wasn't sure I was at the end? My lovely wife greeted me and then I wondered for a moment if the screen was frozen.
The moment when one of Reg's buddies starts to talk about something he's struggling with, but is immediately interrupted by his friends was fantastic.
very unusual game, compared to other submissions lol. variety is good! also choice sections are TENSE

Hello! Nice funny game! I played several rounds but I can’t get anything that is not pretty toxic haha.
I like how it was written and how each moment fits very well with the next one.
The movement of the dialogs are so fast and/or “far”. Sometimes I got all the dialogs outside the screen (only half of the box is shown) so I could not click anything or what I wanted to click. Maybe you could make it not to leave the screen.
As other said, I was hook by the art and the script, which is a good signal!

Thank you for the feedback! Good point about the dialogue boxes; some are meant to be harder to get than others, but perhaps the difficulty needs tweaking a smidge.

I got the "pretty toxic" ending xD I think I'm not cut out for male friendships xD Trying to chase those pesky answers isn't easy at all, I'm not certain I managed to read everything just because of their speed XD Certainly an interesting concept and a good challenge, I'm curiosu to see where the second part og the jam takes the story!

Really felt the stress trying to click those text boxes as they bounced around! But battling toxic masculinity is always a plus. Oh, and good work with the art and music/sfx too! Also wanted to note that I also wasn't sure if the game was supposed to end with that last line to your wife, but judging by the other comments it seems intentional.

had to crack open a guinness irl cause the blokes told me to! lol jk honestly i had to be so quick chasing down these answers and i gotta say it really kept things interesting instead of the stationary selections, made me lock in and actually pay attention, so great job! i do feel like the game kind of ends abruptly, i figure it was intended to end on the Cheers love text since it’s the title but i also wasn’t sure. Just a nitpick, overall fun game!

what a wonderful game this is, i always enjoy trashing on the english football team, that was fun. i did not know being a good man required such good aim, should be hitting aimlabs so i can be a good husband. but yeah lol, this game is great, i loved the dialogue and the art, so incredibly well done. music is nice and fitting as well. the game stopped after my character says "cheers love" to the wife, not sure if that's the end because nothing happens but i couldn't advance either so i stopped there.

I believe that is indeed the end of at least one of the runs, but I think we could make the game-end state clearer. Thank you for your feedback!
