Really lovely submission with so much polish, depth and replayability. I've actually been struggling to find the time it deserves! Want to see the levels in the screenshots, but not succeeding in getting to them yet - this is no unfinished game or short demo! A whole new dimension added with 2 player mode (Need to get a game playing friend over as Mrs Steveb is rubbish at games). Small sprites, but with character, lots of nods to old school platformer mechanics, but with nice twists of its own. Will be coming back to this one...
Cheers for the amazing review! Just remember if you want to adjust the difficulty there's a dipswitch menu which allows you to up the amount of starting lives and reduce the amount of points needed to get extra lives, but it is a little difficult to access on V1.2, I've made it easier to get into on V1.3 when it gets uploaded.
Excellent game that fits the Amiga aesthetic and would be a joy to play in an arcade! Love all the neat touches main one being the AMPED letters, adds to the replayability, offering harder boss variations and further levels and endings. Great game for people to fight over the high score too seeing as combos can be tricky to setup in some levels. Overall fantastic submission!
Cheers for the awesome feedback, I'd have never have fixed one of the trickiest issues without seeing your gameplay footage so I appreciate all the time you put into playing it, and I'm glad you had a lot of fun doing so! ๐
Nice single screen platformer. Very impressed at the quality
Cheers for the kind words! ๐

I really liked the fast arcade gameplay of this. Really colourful and charming presentation. The copper gradients are great. I was probably missing some strategy but it was fun to play. I absolutely sucked at the UFO boss level and wasn't sure what I was supposed to do at first. Epic music!
Cheers for the feedback! ๐ The UFO boss (along with all bosses) has two versions, if you're on the normal version it is a case of jumping up or falling through a platform after shooting it whilst in it's path. If you're on the AMPED version then it is a combination of that, but also if it is using one of the additional attack patterns indicated by an arrow you can sometimes get a shot in from behind if you're on the level it is going to move to.
I'm glad you like the music, Virgill is nothing short of a magician with what he can do with Amiga MODs!
A true classic arcade game needs the following!
# Easy to learn but hard to master gameplay! CHECK!
# Fun main characters and enemies aswell as BOSSFIGHTS! CHECK!
# Nice graphics and some kicking tunes! CHECK!
# Also a VITAL thing that truly makes this an arcade cabinet candidate is the ATTRACT MODE! CHECK!
The attract mode is one key feature I feel like every arcade game needs. It will draw people in to give it a few coins!
In this game you have a true arcade style attract mode with screens telling you all about the game with a proper titlescreen, controls, bonus items, highscore table and more!
This game draws inspiration from some of my favorite arcade games like bubble bobble, rainbow islands and snow bros and still does it's own thing! I had a good time with this and would absolutley drop a few coins in an arcade!
Cheers for the awesome review! โค๏ธ I'm glad you had a great time playing! I completely agree about the Attract Mode, the player needs to be shown any non-obvious mechanics prior to playing, it was one of the "must-haves" for this game ๐
Played this for ages. Still cant get past the boss :D
Cheers, I'm glad you've had a fun time with it, the first boss can be tricky but it can be defeated for sure, I hope you're able to kick their arse! ๐
funny game

Great GFX, Great music and fun arcade gameplay. Lacks real depth but most arcade games do so not an issue. Loved playing, would drop a few coins in the cab!
Cheers for the feedback, it was a pleasure to catch the rest of your stream yesterday!
Challenging game. need to play more of this coop. GG
Cheers for playing it, it's definitely a lot of fun in coop mode!
At the first glance I thought of it like another regular platformer. However, pretty soon I discovered that there is something more to it. A really fresh approach to the genre. If I need to be picky - graphics should be more vibrant. The colours are a bit too pale. Critikill could have made the palette a little bit brighter. Neverthless it is as it is but the game itself is brilliant.
Cheers for the feedback, I'm glad you've enjoyed your time playing the game ๐ I would like to clarify a little something about the palette choices, when it came to the graphics Critikill was using a palette selected by myself, which I selected to maintain portability between Amiga and Mega Drive and Neo Geo, and I had also had to change the palette from some of his original designs to make them compatible with the selected palette. On a technical level, the Amiga version has 32 colours and all of those are accessible by the system at all times, however on the Mega Drive and Neo Geo they work in multiple palettes of 16 colours, and each object only has access to a singular palette (although tiles on Mega Drive can use a different palette for each corner). As such, that meant that although the palette I selected was better for portability, it also was definitely not optimal for the Amiga, and that is entirely on me, Critikill is definitely not to blame here ๐
I've had musings about a V2 of this game (Amiga-only) when I circle back to it after the Mega Drive and Neo Geo releases, and an improved palette is definitely at the top of the list!
Awesome game, which is lots of fun and challenging ( in a good way) with added cute pets to save :)
Cheers, I'm glad you enjoyed it! ๐
Nice Bubble Bobble style game. And has the according vibes.
I still have to play more, but I felt since the characters are small, some levels could be tighter - just a suggestion for a future update.
My suggestion : play this with a friend in 2 player mode! Improves fun!
Cheers for the feedback ๐ I'm not sure how far you have played through the game so far, but the early levels are designed to be quite open, as a means for the player to get used to the character movement and game mechanics. Later in the game the levels are tighter and more intricately designed as a way to turn up the challenge (especially given the movement of enemies later in the game) ๐
