this game is immaculate, NOTHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT. How did I not try this game yet, it's short but a very good experience indeed.
Really fun, great gameplay, excellent level design, and enjoyable progression. I just had a really hard time with the turrets, I found it almost impossible to take them down compared to the enemies. The game really reminded me of Sonic. Congratulations on your hard work and dedication! I hope to see you on the podium.
Incredibly well done. Oozing style, charm, polish.
this game answers the question what would it be like if sonic was always in ball form, the answer is it would be very fun
This game is pretty fire ngl! I thought I made something cool, but I think this should be over mine.
The game is so good !
You are really productive while jamming : the game is polished, with good animations and art. It feels very good.
I have only one problem : I don't understand why sometimes, I can't jump anymore. Also, at some points of the game, you really need the Zap, but there isn't enough electricity to charge it.
I’m definitely regretting not giving the player more of a starting charge and then having checkpoints boost their charge when encountering them. Thanks for the great feedback!
This looks like it took 2 months, but it was all in the 10 days of the jam! It is so impressive how fun, fluid and intuitive this game feels!
SUPER FUN and polished!
I am not good at this kind of game though... the struggle bus starts at 2:00 in the vid
It felt great to reach the end though!! i definitely felt like i earned it! I appreciate the unlimited checkpoint respawns so I could finish the game :)
Glad you were able to finish. You aren't kidding about what happens once you hit the 2:00 mark in your playthrough... that was rough!
i love the art style and the fast paced gameplay! however
the jump is a bit hard to control, the minimum height when you tap jump is too high (but it feels like it's sometimes lower?)
checkpoints 3 and 4 are kind of a difficulty spike
another thing is dying at a checkpoint is pretty punishing because you lose all the momentum you built up and often get stuck in a death loop because of it, i'd suggest you go the trackmania route and have a little replay of how you got to the checkpoint and carry the momentum from that
if you go on a loop when you're fast enough you just can't stop and go all the way around it which doesn't feel great
i also didn't really find myself using the zap ability like at all, it just didn't really feel like it had a reason to be there for me (though it may totally just be a skill issue)
overall though, i think it's really nice!
The crazy physics movement (loops, halfpipes, and upside down curves) was really challenging to get dialed in, and I’m not sure I stuck the landing here for it.
I originally had it set so that your direction of travel would influence your speed on these curves, but I couldn’t get it to feel right when changing directions on a curve (this was especially a problem with the upside down segments where you enter from the left and leave on the right or vice versa).
I simplified the handling so that as long as left OR right were held down, you’d finish the curve and hopefully not notice that changing the direction you held would have an impact since they’re pretty fast to traverse.
I definitely should have given players more energy when respawning (at least enough to survive a hit/not get one shotted) and will likely make a change post jam to fix that
Thanks for playing and sharing your feedback!
I had a lot of fun with this game! The gameplay is really fast and fun, and the art looks great. I was able to beat the game despite being very bad at it lol.
I clicked start game, heard 0.2 seconds of the main menu music, started the game, then went back to the main menu after realizing I needed to listen for a bit more. Very good game! I especially liked the little cannon enemies.
Very fun and satisfying to play! Great job with the art too!
Very cool game. I didn’t do great but I did finish it, albeit with a bunch of deaths (mainly at that last checkpoint). Very polished and I enjoyed it a lot. Will come back later to try and beat my score.
That last checkpoint sure is brutal! Thanks for playing and sharing your feedback
Even though this feels like a Sonic remake, it is highly polished. I quite enjoyed the game right from the start. Although the controls are a bit tricky, the level design is very neat and well-crafted.
Very cute game with fun theming and good art! I played through a second time and had a lot of fun finding all the hidden fuses!
Falling/jumping down onto a quarter circle slope (most prominent ~3/4 of the way through) would grind you to a halt when I was expecting to "slingshot" down and up the left edge.
The checkpoint system was very nice, though being one shot did make some difficult sections even more difficult. It somewhat felt like "if you play well you can ignore damage but if you are struggling you will struggle more" due to that, but it is also a system that rewards good play which may be fair for a score attack type game like this!
I’ll definitely rework the respawn mechanic to eliminate getting one-shotted. It’s really annoying now that I’ve played the game a few times too
RE: the sliding physics I spent so long on trying to get that working properly that I eventually had to give up and move on to other tasks. I’m sure it’s solvable, but I probably need to put more brain cycles into it first.
Thanks for playing and sharing your feedback!
The game looks very polished and fun, but I felt a bit uncomfortable with this character movement, especially when I tried to find secrets. I think, it's just me not played enough SEGA games.
However, the game looks very nice.
