It is very cute and reminds me of my Tamas at home! It runs very well too. So nostalgic.
My only complaint is that it dies too quickly!
I'm guessing this fits the contrast and protect it themes. Though as someone who didn't play with virtual pets, there's no clear instruction what to do. And given the nature of the graphics style, I wasn't quite sure what some things were. I won the slider game about 30 times and only made 2 gold, never got any from the mirror game. Don't know if there was another method to earn gold but ultimately died because i couldn't afford anything.
The graphic style is so nice. Nostalgia feeling! Well done!! Thanks for joining this game jam!
Fun and simple retro look-and-feel that is reminiscent of both Gameboy and Tamagotchi. I had much better luck with the slider than the mirror game. Once I got the hang of it, I was able to keep the little guy alive for a pretty good while.
Cute little game
:DI managed to get a score of 5 with Cat, I couldn’t quite figure out how to obtain gold at first, but after I played the slider game until the happiness bar was somewhat full, I started getting some.. I guess it happens by chance?
I wish there’s a save feature so that I can continue where I left off
Also, Z key seems to work as a keyboard shortcut to feed it
:)Likewise. Could not figure how to play this game. Could not get past the first screen.
As shown in the description, arrow keys, X and C
I love this idea, and the screenshots made me wait a lot because I'm "old" and I like old-fashioned graphics.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find any manual that would give me any idea how to play this.
I pressed buttons, the mouse, and whatever came to mind and nothing happened. So I practically didn't know how to do anything with this.
Even a short guide, even in txt format, would have raised the points a lot.
Hello! Thanks! The manual is on the main game page.
The controls are arrow keys, the X key and the C key, it's also on the "fake screen shell" on the buttons at the bottom of the game window.
The UI totally nails that classic game boy screen vibe ! :) It's retro. Great job.
This kind of reminded me of the tomagachi I had when I was a kid. My pet here actually lived longer though.
