Wow! What's the story behind the last one?

It's Fossil -> Fuel, the fish fossil at bottom, factories on top

And x4 version:

this is so unique. I really like how you used the density of the holes to imply shadow.

hey thanks!

woah you got the form down really well! great take on the prompt :D

thank you so much

(+5)

made another, a fossil of a car burning fossil fuels

Host(+2)

I love your hatched shading. So clear and visible.

Host(+9)

A parasaurolophus and its ancestor, and an ammonite.

I love how you’ve shaded those jagged edges on the ammonite! 10/10 would have used my pocket money to get this on my old brick as a kid :D

Host

Thanks, the shading was a surprise to me too haha. I felt like I was chiselling away the matrix to find the pixelart underneath.

(+5)

Host

Excellent perspective.

Loving these textures.

Thank you!

I'm in awe at everyone's submissions, especially all the great shading techniques!

this is my attempt: some 'screenshots' of a mock-up game called fauxsil hunt! it's about digging up stuff from a treasure map and figuring out if it's archeologically relevant or not. your mentor is a dog, who seems suspiciously invested in you finding more bones for him to 'inspect'...

Host (1 edit) (+1)

This is such a fun idea. I really like the dog mentor. What sort of things would be archeologically irrelevant?

all the random bones the pup professor has buried himself, I suppose :D

Host

omg adorable :))

(+5)

Here's my rendition of a fossil of the conch Thetystrombus latus (formerly known as Strombus bubonius — this marine species has a lots of synonyms).

These remains can be seen in the Matas Blancas paleontological site (of around 127000 years), in the south of Fuerteventura (Canary Islands). Cheers!

(+1)

it's amazing how many details you managed to pack into this small format :)

I went a bit far with the dithering ^^

Host(+1)

This is so obscure. Double plus good subject and execution.

Thanks a lot, Polyducks!
