Fun game, I enjoyed it a lot, loved the art style too. I was already thinking of commenting that the last round was the easiest, then I discovered it wasnt XD

Anyway, in my opinion the first round could be a little bit easier, so its more likely that the player will discover the second and third enemies and also could be nice to put in the paper of the wall like ROUND 1, ROUND 2 or ROUND 3 so you understand better that it shows the competitors and that there is more than one.

Great Job. I really love the look of this game. though I will admit I thought I was a worm until I watched your video submission. Game play is solid though I am really bad at it.

Thanks! I added a thing saying he's a peanut to the bracket board. I think a lot of people didn't realize that the bracket is interactable.

You said this was your first game?  Because for a first game this was really good.  I liked the music and art style.  I had a good time.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! I've taken coding classes and stuff  but yes this is my first full game

Movement was a little clunky but overall was a great fun game. Loved all the boss animations and the art style was great had me laughing the whole way through.

Amazing, a must try game, short and fun, a little jank but makes it even better tbh, the only thing i would love would be a web version but otherwise what a great game , music , art stlye. Loved it! ARE WORMS BUGS?

Developer (1 edit)

There is! It's originally a scratch project but I don't think I have the link on hand.

https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/1298020140  found it! I think it works about the same and I guess anyone can go see how awful my code is lol

The "jank" of this game is so charming, I'm surprised that you managed to make the combat both fast and enjoyable, also the art style is awesome!

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks, the jank was not on purpose but I'll take what I can get!

For a game made within scratch this is pretty good, love the art style too!

Broken as hell game (because of scratch) but also charming as hell game x)
Main elements:
The art style is really unique and nice, I loved it
The audio and becomes really hype at the end !
The starting and ending cutscene were fun and well made.

Now for the less good part, the actual gameplay:
- First, I'm french so WASD is not good for us but in scratch you can't really do a easy remap so no problem
- The spider boss is by far the most annoying. The trapping mecanic is good in idea and the first couple of time but at the end it becomes frustating. I also don't think we should be trapped for just touching the spider (it should just be the projectile attack)
- The moveset of our character (a punch) could have benefited from a bit more, like a quick but less powerfull punch vs slow but very powerfull one idk. For now the only real decision making is when to go in or not wich can be fun but it could I been funnier.
- The bosses are for the most part cool, design wise but some jank on the hitbox make things a bit weird and a bit mashy. (I mostly spammed jump and punch to beat the second one)

- The final boss is by far the better (and funnier) because it is really simple and doesn't affect the going in / out decision (the other two limit your controll and make it so this ins't really possible).

So apart from some jank on the gamelay it is very good and it is either way very fun. Cool game !

Sigh. scratch has default hitboxes for sprites and they are indeed janky, as are ranged attacks because scratch has individual code per sprite. Either way, thanks for the feedback and thanks for playing!

Very fun, very charming style, and i very much enjoyed getting to jump towards every enemy and mash space bar until I succeeded. I will say, the hitboxes feel a bit funky sometimes, and it's hard to tell when you're going to get hit, but i still had fun dodging by just holding back, even though the spider corner camped me lol

Developer(+1)

sorry about the spider camp! other people told me about it in testing but i just didnt have time. I think it can be jumped out of if you really spam it. Hitboxes are indeed gross but thats a scratch thing, and the only workaround would have taken at least 2-3 times as long. Thanks for playing!

Wait what the this awesome.  Style is absolutely incredible, and i loved the suprise of what each boss was. Controls & hitboxes were a little finicky but nothing too bad. Best of luck mate from one photo realistic boxing peanut boss rush game dev to another.

o7 soldier, playing yours next!

This is flawless. The style is impeccable, (The pixilation does make the controls a little hard to read, but that doesn't matter they're very intuitive and easy to pick up.)

All of the fights felt really unique to eachother and were decently challenging (Especially that last one, I really didn't expect that to happen!)

And I liked how snappy the movement was. Playing this felt like playing a flash game, and I absolutely love flash games.

Amazing work!

Thanks, I really likes yours too!
