I thought the art style was really captivating and I especially like the protagonist sprite, it's quirky and unique.

This is a good game for a jam and a very good game for a first try.

On the strength of this alone I do believe you should consider changing your profile name because 100% you CAN. Unless it's there to be sarcastic or tongue in cheek of course :)

My name wasn't originally, but now it is!

Cool! I like the hand-drawn art style and that finding the flashlight genuinely made me feel more comfortable in the dark.

Developer

Thank you so much!!!

This is a very nice job for the first game ever :D I liked main character's design and the square-shaped camera. Also, is this Hornet on  a framed photo in bedroom? XD

Yesssss! I'm so glad someone noticed!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love Hollowknight Silksong, so I added that little easter egg!!

I got the flashlight and killed the baddies! Nice work!

I didn't understand what I should do after receiving the flashlight

Developer

Yeah, I'm sorry it's not more obvious, but you have to continue opening the cabinet then kill the things that come out of them. After the jam I am going to fix that and make it more obvious.

Great job for a first attempt! Some sound would have done wonders to make this much more atmospheric and spooky. I did like the character art.

To be a first project you should be proud of it. The character design is pretty cool. For the next iteration I suggest a page of instructions, and to check the visual cone around the protagonist, right now is too narrow.
