Cool game and super satisfying, congratulations, good luck to you in the jam!
Interesting concept you have here! The arena fights were fun with comboing the different spells, and it was pretty unique allowing the player to ramp up the number of enemies and the difficulty by spending score themselves, with the incentive of making the numbers go up and doing the incremental game exponential growth thing. I will say it was kind of hard to tell what I was supposed to click on with the shop menu at first, but I did figure it out. Might be nice to make it a little more clear what's a button and what's an icon though!
Nice work overall!
Thank you for the compliments and feedback! The shop was definitely rushed, and will be the first thing I fix after the jam.
Good job :) this game is super chill and satisfying
Thanks, I'm happy that you liked it!
Had a good time just farming away and watching the numbers go up, the little creatures are cute and the music goes very well with the general theme you've got going on! Nice work!
Glad you enjoyed it, and thanks for the nice words!
Really cute game ! My monkey brain is always happy when numbers go up :D The music was really chill and joyful, it felt refreshing.
I did not understand everything in the shop costs ! Money prices also were a bit random. Sometimes I would get randomly 10x the normal amount !
I would suggest using a "button" style for the purchases, it took me a few seconds to realize we could click the text to buy things ! A responsive image below would add a lot.
Good job !
Hey, I really loved your game! Thanks for the feedback, the button thing is definitely on the to do list, I was really rushed on adding those. The money being random could either be from the vine multiplier or from the multiplier on overkill damage that I didn't find a place to explain and the shop prices are multiplied by a weird number (2.6) so they don't look super consistent. I'm happy that you liked game overall and the music, I didn't have much time for it and was worried that it was a bit repetitive after one or two listens lol
This was fun, I think I went a little overboard and crashed, whoops 👀
I have to say, the "game of life" style attack is actually so creative, never seen something like that. It actually works really well even in a more "competitive" setting as it deals little dmg but can multiply almost infinitely if used correctly.
My biggest gripe was with the UI. Get some "hover on" effect on those buttons! For you it's probably obvious, but as a first time player I have no idea what I can actually click and what not. This specifically refers to the shop. Like is the text clickable? are the icons clickable? a lot of try and error and confusion.
But that's a easy and quick fix to do after the voting is over, It's also not a big deal after 2 minutes once you click around and understand the rules.
overall well done
There are definitely some little details I could've gotten in there if I had more time, but I hadn't though about the buttons specifically, thanks for the advice! I didn't realize the game crashes when you go too high (I didn't build the number system to handle scientific notation) until after the submission period ended so that's just means you win lol. Funny enough, you probably can only get the big with the multipliers, and you're the first person I've heard use those specifically. I'm glad you had fun!
I really liked it! Very underrated. I loved reaching a flowstate where enemies line up for my fireballs.
The sound design is good, and the creatures are adorable!
Yeah, the concept artist made some really cute creatures! I'm happy you liked the game!
Really interesting, original and fun concept! I really enjoy the Monster Rancher (literally in this case :'DDD) -vibe, the creatures are cute and the music is fun. I don't really get the point of the "resources" since they seemingly don't do anything (maybe I missed something). Overall, an enjoyable experience!
I'm glad you liked it! The resources are used to buy things in the bottom row of the shop, which isn't what they were originally supposed to do, but they are usable in some fashion. You may have missed it because it doesn't outright say that, it just shows pictures of them there.
I tried clicking on them, and nothing happened
If you clicked on the resources themselves, that doesn't work because you need to click the numbers. You also might not have had enough resources to buy something.
Fun game and art is really charming, always love the infinite progression games when done well and this is really well executed for a 14 day jam game! Very nice job, cool game and good luck with the rest of the jam!
Thank you for the compliments, I'm glad you enjoyed the game! I tried to make the progression fun, and I tend to make game jam games too hard from a lack of playtesting, so hopefully that was lessened this time. A funny thing about the infinite progression is that it technically isn't infinite, I think the game crashes when you hit scientific notation (which takes a while so it's an edge case and doesn't matter much) because I forgot to accommodate that in the numbers system lol.
