Very cozy, very melodic! What an interesting mix of genres this was.

I adored Mr. Pebbles so much. He keeps up quite well!

A small annoyance is that my cursor was perpetually drifting down and to the right, except for right when I looked at an object D:

Developer(+1)

I appreciate that! Yes, Mr. Pebbles is quite fast even though he doesn't have any legs.

That is unfortunate. I've seen cursor drifting sometimes while playing some games on Firefox. I think that is some browsers resolution scaling bug, because zooming the browser window to 90% or 110% stopped the drifting for me in all games I've seen it in. Might be something else too in this case though :(

Thanks for playing and for the valuable feedback :)

Submitted(+1)

I was using Firefox, so that would make sense!

Words cannot describe how much I love every single piece of this. So comfy, so spring, so seamless.

5 stars in every single rating. If I  could I'd give more.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much from the kind words! That means a lot to me :D

Rythm game crafter was not something I expected but you've made it work so well!

Developer

I'm glad I managed to surprise in a positive way. Thanks for playing!

At first I felt bad about exploiting the nature and whenever a bee was chilling at a flower I would not collect it :D but woah what a beautiful game. I looooved the beat mechanic a lot.

Developer

Thank you for respecting nature! I'm happy to hear you liked the game :D

Normally I hate games involving chopping trees and crafting items. But this might be my favorite game. It is so clean and polished. I've always wanted to make a game synced to the music and you've done it masterfully. You made chopping trees fun and I never knew a 3D Godot browser game could look and run so well. Masterful Work!

Developer

Much obliged! I'm so happy to hear that, thanks for playing :)

Super lovely game! I really loved the beats for chopping wood, very addicting! I kept collecting lots of trees and didn't realize cuz of how fun it was!

Consider selling this on steam with more exploration elements & tasks it'll win big! It's super lovely ðŸ˜Š and the rhythm mechanic was really clean and polished! My favorite by far in the jam ðŸ˜„

Developer

I'm glad you had fun collecting some extra wood for the next winter 😊

Selling this game on Steam would be quite a stretch for me because of the bureaucracy in Finland ðŸ˜„

Thank you for the kind words and for playing the game!

I appreciate the feedback! I'm happy how the environment turned out and how I managed to optimize the audio so it doesn't glitch.

The rhythm should be flowing all the time and seen when the axe is visible. This might be some audio server bug so it stops looping the note tracks. It would help a lot in the bug hunting if you could share some of info about your experience.

  • Can you hear the music?
  • Does the gameplay feel smooth or is it running with a low frame rate?
  • Did you download the game or play in browser?
  • What OS or browser did you use?

Thank you for taking the time to make that videoclip.

Thanks for the details. There sould be music the moment you hit play. No music => No notes showing.

Could I bother you for some more feedback? If you open the browsers console, does the console show any errors when loading up the game or when hitting play button?

I kinda think it's not the iGPU that is the problem as you said the gameplay itself was smooth. The music processing should be processed by the CPU anyway. Something could be blocking the start of the music or the game tries to restart it every frame.

I have tested with my laptop and mobile phone. They are a bit laggy, but both of them play the music and show the notes for the rhythm.

  • Laptop (AMD Ryzen 5 5625U with iGPU)
  • Mobile phone (Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 + Adreno 650 GPU)

If you hear the birds, but not the music then it makes me think the issue is AudioStreamSynchronized. I use that for looping the music tracks in sync, but the ambiance uses regular AudioStreams. There's a possibility that Godot 4.6 has a bug in AudioStreamSynchronized that makes it incompatible with your hardware.

Thanks again for helping me figure this out.

Glad to hear you got it working on another browser and thank you for the console log. That difference of used HD Graphics certainly is weird, but I don't  see any critical errors there. I also tested with Edge on multiple devices, but I couldn't reproduce the issue. This might just be a pickle I will not solve.

And yeah, I definately could have optimized the browser version better :P

I really loved this one! so fun and relaxing

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you had fun.

Genuinely one of the best games i've played so far in this jam, the idea of a rythm crafting game is inspired, presentation is top notch i could see this game on steam along side games like lumberjacked. Gameplay is smooth as butter, had no issues whatso ever with timing or desync, i only wish there was more.
If i had to scrape the barrel for critique (which i do) it's that the adherence to the theme feels a little loose? the whole map resets and i wish i got to keep the hats for Mr. Pebbles between loops. The transition does not feel seemless, it feels like a new run.

Honestly i just wish there was more, phenomenal work! c:

Developer

Much obliged for the great feedback! I'm happy to hear you had such a smooth experience.

I totally get the critique from the bottom of the barrel. I took the description for limitation of the jam too seriously ("your game just loops back to the start so seamlessly") and wanted the game to loop to the absolute beginning.

I also wish I had more time to make additional content for the game during the jam. Thank you for playing :D

Impressive work! The visuals and music are really pleasant, and I thoroughly enjoyed the gameplay. The mini-games for chopping wood and assembling furniture feel super responsive. This is a solid project with a lot of potential beyond the jam!

Developer(+1)

Thank you kindly! I'm happy how the visuals and music turned out for the finished game. Thanks for playing :)

Wow phenomenal game for a 2 week game. Love the creative take on the limitation on many layers! (Musical loop for crafting, loop for going out to collect resources and coming back to craft, and the large vacation loop). Super clever, and polish game. Music was cute and catchy

Developer

Much obliged! I'm happy to hear someone noticed all the different seamless loops I tried to implement into the game. Thanks for taking the time for playing my game.

wow, this is really good. i enjoyed playing it a lot. the vibes are just perfect and its super relaxing!

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you found the experience relaxing :)

Submitted(+1)

It's a very well made game, mainly by just one person, the setting is very lively and peaceful, Mr Pebbles is Fire. But for some reason the game for me in the browser had an audio bug so I preferred to play without sound.

Developer

I appreciate the feedback. How did the audio bug occur?  There is a slight stuttering on the browser version when the game is loading assets, but after that it should smooth out.

Thank you for playing!

Submitted (1 edit)

For me, the entire game's audio was emitting beeps, but for some reason it's only on the game page, if I go to another page the audio remains normal, and if I go back the beeps return.

Developer

Hmm, that is very interesting.  I haven't run into that audio bug yet, so I have to try with different browsers. Thanks for letting me know.

Really impressed with this one!  The world feels alive and very pretty to look at, with dancing trees and bees doing their job. The dynamic music works really well, I just wish there was more to explore and collect though (love the idea of collecting hats, it was a fun little side quest). Amazing experience!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! My main focus was the environment for this jam so that means a lot to me. I  too wish I had more time to add more areas to explore and resources to collect, but I went completely solo this time. I'm glad you liked the game.

Submitted(+1)

Ran really smooth for me in browser, which already impressed me for a 3D game. It was really pretty too. Loved the environment design, it felt alive with the bees flying around and all the little details going on. Mr. Pebbles was definitely one of my favorite parts, and I'm glad I got to dress him up lol. Also really like the title screen and options UI, both felt super polished. And shoutout to the fullscreen option actually working, that honestly made me happy.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and from the great feedback! That is so nice to hear as I focused mostly on vibes and environment for this jam. I also had to prioritize optimization because running smoothly is necessity for rhythm games. At first Mr Pebbles was just part of the environment, but his role grew bigger every day during development. I'm glad you enjoyed the experience!

Submitted(+1)

Yoooo that game runs so smooth and super satisfying like whaaaaaaaaaat Awesome work 10/10 Caught myself playing it for like 40 minutes cause it’s very relaxing

Developer(+1)

Heyyy, thanks so much! I spent the last day mostly optimizing the game so I'm so happy it runs so smoothly.

Submitted(+1)

Very polished and all-around great game! Mr Pebbles is definetly a highlight. The rhythm minigames are well made but I would've liked to see more variation in them.

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed the game and the company of Mr Pebbles. He has been quite a polarizing character. I would have loved to make more tools with different minigames, but unfortunately I didn't have enough time during the jam. Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

I like it a lot! This could be a hit incremental game!

Developer

I appreciate your kind words. Thanks for playing the game.

Submitted(+1)

Wow, this is super polished! I love the little details, like the bouncing trees, the ambient particles, the bees flying around. It adds a lot here. The colors and style look really nice and support the cozy vibe. I've never had so much fun chopping wood :O

Developer

I appreciate that! My main focus for this jam was to get the visuals and the soundscape feeling just right, so your comment means a lot to me. Thanks for dropping by and chopping some wood :)

Submitted(+1)

Amazing game, I loved the mix of survival and rhythm in this game, The gameplay loop was really fun and there was more than just cutting trees. Only issues I found were that I had a skill issue with with the crafting and MR. PEBBLES only had 4 beautiful hats.

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! I wanted to have more hats, but I had to divide my time between coding, music and visuals. The skill issues are out of my hands :)
