Voice acting is on point! :D Good take on the theme and fun. Good job!

Nice game, interesting take on the theme. Here are some comments I have:

  • The platforms you can stand on are not very clear visually
  • The sound effects could use some "punch", they are pretty funny but I feel they lack some impact
  • The graphics could use some fine tuning, some parts are hd images and some parts are drawn
  • I would love to have some kind of animation or sound that I have the ultimate available, that was not obvious to me
  • The controls felt a bit clunky sometimes, not sure if you cant attack while jumping or why it felt like that
  • The tutorial would probably be a bit better if it was explained in game instead of a page in menu. I have hard time remembering tutorials explained as text like that.

Overall solid game!

Thank you for taking your time to provide super relevant feedback. I personally find it hard to objectively view a score result and see specific causes or areas to improve but your thoughts are very clear and actionable. I hope you continue to contribute to this community :) and well done on your placement this jam

Super entertaining entry and really cool take on theme. Some of the UI elements needed some work but overall it looked great and felt pretty polished.

Super cool and fun entry. Review first, then story. Love all the art, music and sound effects, kudos to the team for doing all that for the jam, love it! The game was really fun and very challenging (until I found the cheat, more on that in a sec). I couldn't get very far initially but I like that you included a way to lower the level time and up the lives, that sort of control is really underrated in jam games and its a great way to allow everyone to finish. The game ran smooth, the CPU behavior was great and very brutal.  Super polished entry all around, great job by the team!

One suggestion: have separate sliders for the music and the sound effects. I could barely hear the music, and anytime there were sound effects the music was lost in the background. Which leads me to....

Story time: The first two times I played I didn't hear the music, but I saw you made music for the jam so I turned the sound volume way up and started a third game. I knew the punch sounds would be loud so in order to hear the music better I decided to just jump around and avoid the goons so just the music was playing. Five minutes later I had completed the level with a completely pacifist playthrough.

The CPU are too smart for their own good, they think they're Obi-wan on the high ground so they just wait for you to come up to them. You can chill below them and wait til you need to jump up, then jump past them, up past the top of the screen. They follow, you jump down, and half the time they die up there like idiots. And thus the pacifist playthrough (no deaths either!) was born. What a wild ride.

Great job gang! Highly enjoyable!

I forgot to mention that I whiffed the ultimate like three times before landing one, just like I do in every other game with ults. 10/10.

To echo everyone else, the VA was the highlight of the game... the fact you used, I assume your own voice was bold, and it worked! I liked the upward progression of the game, kinda reminded me of the newer Wii/Switch Mario games. Nice job!

The gameplay itself was very fun, one of the ones I've played the most from this jam :)

Only feedback really would be to have the SFX and music on different volume sliders! At times it did feel the music was drowned out (I'm the kinda beast to have music set to full usually)

There were a couple of times where animations didn't seem to line up to when I'd make an attack, but other than that really solid effort

11/10 voice acting, definitely fun gameplay. The character controller feels a bit awkward but overall I enjoyed the experience :D

This game made me laugh so hard. Love the sound effects and voice acting. Controller support was a nice touch, I tried keyboard the first time, and then switched to controller and had even more fun. Great job team.

Really unique concept, tho it definitely gets a bit chaotic! I appreciated the animations and the voice acting especially lol
