Intro cutscene was fire! Humorous as always, however the decision to leave to the player skip the cutscene after it was over was interesting, per say.
The game play reminded me a lot of Papa's Burgeria, and the music a lot of Frutiger Aero vibes, and the artstyle is really amazing! However as the others have already said, the gameplay is where the game has some major hiccups, the collisions in general are really funky, and the separeted menus for making the burgers are really unnintuitive, if the kitching was a single screen, with both the grill and the table together, this wouldn't be much of an issue.
And although I really enjoy your artstyle and art in general, some of the choices made here may have worked against the gameplay, like the burgers having two variations of sprites, even though they are the same, same for the toasted and non toasted buns, and the balcony being at an angle while the collision is only on the top of it.
It's a major pick for the judges I'm sure of that, but it has some rough edges that stick out a lot.

Absolutely phenomenal art and definitely some potential in gameplay but its just a little rough. Theres a few snags here and there that Iggyminious already went over, such as falling burgers and kinda blind cooking, but those are relatively minor issues. My main complaint might just be a skill issue but this game is way too unforgiving, patience wears out too low, cheese turns to ash super quickly, dropping a burger means restarting the order, etc. My first run I made juts under $100 and I didn't improve much from there. Again could just be skill issue, but either way the game is definitely fun to play, just a little annoying to put up with sometimes though. Definitely a contender for top 10!

Took me a minute to figure out there was a skip button.

Interesting concept. The intro cut scene was wonderful XD

The opening cinematic hooked me with the art and premise, and the gameplay seems fun on paper, but it's ultimately let down by its UX design and overall high, if not impossible, difficulty. The cutscene black-screen thing is weird, but I kept running into issues after that

  • Changing screens by moving the mouse to the sides of the screen feels kinda wonky and I feel like there should've been a keyboard option for that
  • I couldn't tell how satisfied a customer was by their order at face value or if their patience level affected how much money they gave me (one person kept making weird faces at me no matter what), and I wish there was a way I could see how much they were gonna give me up front
  • The game doesn't convey a lot well, like the fact you need plates to serve the burgers, or the distinction between the blocks of cheese and the slices of cheese the customers kept asking for
  • There were some snafus involving accidentally picking up ingredients that were on the grill when dragging a burger plate across the screen (though I eventually learned to use this to my advantage)
  • There are some actions I feel could've used sound effects when they didn't have any
  • You drop someone's burger to the floor if you placed the plate even just slightly below where you're supposed to on the front counter

Even when I understood these nuances and played as perfectly as I could, I couldn't get anywhere close to the $750 needed by the deadline (I capped out at a little over $450), so I just gave up. I would definitely be interested in a version of this with some of these issues fixed, though.

I knew from the discord to try to find the skip button so that wasn't as much of an issue for me. This game is really fun, charming, and has lots of personality. I genuinely enjoyed playing it and I think it's one of my favorites. But I think it's too hard, the most I ever got in my first few playthroughs was $350.

I loved the initial cinematic and the concept! but afterwards I got a black screen too :(

I'm so sorry must've made a mistake with the cutscene you could left click the top right button to fix it but it's a shoddy fix

I have just a black screen after the dialogue phase :(

Developer

I'm so sorry that the dialogue broke, there is a choppy way to fix it and that is by hovering and clicking the top right of the dialogue scene
