I liked the game concept, it was really good, but without actual stakes, the game became a little stale after a few minutes. Adding a quota or maintaining a rhythm with a high score would have been a good implementation. Also, the boxes don't disappear after the shift is over, and that makes the game too easy, after a while I'd just build a wall of purple boxes to kill all the ghosts and still had purple boxes to use as wild cards.
ya I appreciate you playing! Stakes never really made it in unfortunately. I have some ideas for maybe spending money on upgrades at the end of each run. Some better level layouts. I like the quota idea too if x amount of trucks expected and it goes up each level up or something.
thanks again for playing
I think what could've benefited the gameplay loop here is if there was some sort of end-of-day quota of money you had to meet, so there'd be more of a reason to keep putting them in the trucks (besides the boxes just piling up too much, but others have pointed that out already).
ya that would be a helpful end of day closer and close the loop a bit better. I’ve added it in my notes for future development if any happens. Thank you for playing!
the character felt a lil slow but it was still fine overall!
the players speed was meant to increase over some gameplay. But 1. Being a jam game and 2. Not going over controls or gameplay it held back the player a lot. Thank you for playing!
Hey! Not sure why, but I started your game and my computer froze so bad i couldnt even turn it off except by unplugging it from the power. I wont be able to rate it but wanted to let you know. Sorry :(
oh no! I’ll look into it. Idk why it did that. I’ll have to try different browsers or something cause it works fine on mine. Sorry about that.
Ok I tried it again now that it's the end of the day and it doesn't matter if my computer has to be shut off. It worked this time! Really fun game executed pretty well! I loved trying to work with the controls even if it was a little frustrating it made it fun for me. Good job :)
Hey! Liked the concept, just the controls were not that clear at the beggining. Once I figured it out, it was fun! Another comment would have to be on the boxes, it'd be good if they could reset once we start a shift, otherwise screen looks to cluttered and the ghosts get blocked! (worked for me, but maybe you'd like for them to disturb players more for more difficulty?).
thank you for playing! Boxes and controls noted. I really wanted to do a tutorial but didn’t have time in the end. Thanks again!
Hello, other one man game.
Cool stuff! I had a fun time playing this one! It gave me huge newgrounds / armorgames throwback vibes. I would have had a blast playing this when I was 13 (and still had fun with it today)
There are some aspects of the game that I wish were a little more clear and I think throwing boxes at the ghost should delete them, but that's really personal preference. I also wish the warehouse got cleaned up when you end up losing because I ended up with soooo many boxes on the warehouse floor by the end of my 4th run haha.
thanks for the compliment! As for the ghosts, there is one box that could defeat a ghost instead of dazing it. But I didn’t put that info anywhere unfortunately so it was left up to the player to find it out randomly (which isn’t good design for a main mechanic) also noted on the clean up seems to be a common issue. I was organizing my floor each run so it made sense to me while playing but that’s what playtesting is for!
