This honestly feels extremely polished for a jam game. The whole restoration theme works really well with the merge mechanics, and rebuilding the valley piece by piece gives the gameplay a very satisfying sense of progression.
What stood out the most to me was the presentation. The environment, UI, lighting, falling petals, and overall atmosphere all come together beautifully and make the world feel genuinely cozy and alive. You can really tell a lot of care went into the visual side of the project.
I am Arrietty, the programmer for this project. I’m so honored to receive such a thoughtful review! I’ve always had a deep love for the 'cozy' and healing game style, and I treated this project as an exercise in atmosphere and environmental rendering. This was also my first time developing with Godot—honestly, the experience was incredibly smooth, and crafting Shaders was so convenient!
Impressive how you managed to build this game in 3 days! I liked the mechanics and story, and spent quite a while playing it. The art and music wrapped it together in a very cozy and enjoyable experience! It's a little to complex though, and I don't think I was near the end. Constant reminder that I don't have any nests for animals was also kind of interrupting the fun. I will definitely come back and finish it later though!
I’m so sorry that this version still has some technical issues; I will be updating a complete, polished version once the jam's voting period ends! Regarding your feedback on the animal den dialogue prompts: I have updated the mechanics so that small animals will no longer spawn if there isn't a den available. Thank you so much for your suggestion!
My favorite thing about the game is the way it is made to be so cozy and so spring-like; you really nailed the theme at its core! The art direction of this game is an aspect that I liked a lot as well! I have to say one of the downsides (in my opinion) of the game is the sheer complexity of it; of course, it's not a bad thing, as people who enjoy more complex games would absolutely admire this! I loved that you added the tutorial/help part too; it's amazing that you explained it to ensure player navigation remains smooth! However, overall I actually really liked the creativity and the polished gameplay mechanics that you added! Awesome work!
I’m so glad you mentioned the tutorial guidance! I was quite worried about whether players would find the mechanics easy to understand. The game became a bit more complex because we wanted to showcase the diverse skills of every team member, which led us to blend narrative elements with merge-style gameplay.
Enjoyed the creative artstyle you chose for this game and the way you captured the spring vibes. Keep up the great work to you and your team! Look forward to your updates. Well done for 72 hour jam!
Our artists will be so happy to hear that—I’ll be sure to pass your kind words along to them! Thank you for the support, and I hope you have a great time playing!
