Just like the last comment said, I only found your game after the jam ended. Congrats bro!! This gives me a lot of encouragement and inspiration knowing your game was this polished and made in such a short time like mine, using the same engine (GameMaker). Mine placed 107th xd. Hope our paths cross again in another jam, GOOD LUCK!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so so much!

I'm super glad my game could motivate you to keep it up, that's such a nice compliment. 🥲

I'm also always glad to see other GameMaker Devs, I adore this engine so much and I always love to see what other people do with it.

Hope to see you in the summer jam!

Submitted(+1)

What summer jam exactly is the name of it ? could u give me the name of it once it releases i would love to see you there too

Developer(+1)

I meant the next Solo Dev Jam in July! 10th of July to be exact.

I'll be there its a promise

I just discovered this game after the jam was over sadly :) but i loved it! Love the see more levels and features!

Developer

Thanks for checking it out after the jam and I'm super glad you enjoyed!

I've decided to do a large post jam update with lots of new levels and a level editor eventually! So keep your eyes peeled of you're interested. :)

This is a really cool idea and has a solid sandbox for puzzle ideas if you take it further.  The simple style is done so well, and I had to think a little bit on some of them.  Well done!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!! <3

This is definitely one of the more interesting approaches to the theme and I really like it! The gimmick with the movement made for very tough but engaging puzzles, and I definitely got hooked even on levels that I thought were impossible at first. I also really like the aesthetic of the game, from the cute visuals to the comforting music & SFX. The only thing I can say for feedback is that maybe at the start there could've been clearer instructions on how to assign keys to the different actions, which is where I got confused initially. But overall, this was still a very good game and I highly enjoyed it.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for all the compliments! I'm glad you liked it and yeaaa the tutorial might've been a little lackluster but it's something I will definitely improve upon if I update this. :>

Nice one cool puzle game!!!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! :]

Had to bail out before the end because it was getting a bit much, but what a cool puzzle game. Great work getting that all done during the jam

Developer

Yea I'm so sorry! I realized I should've never added the last three levels, they just don't really mesh well with the rest of the game and that caused many not to finish the game, less is sometimes more.

Hope you enjoyed nonetheless and thank you so much for playing!!

Wow! Incredibly polished! You should make this a mobile game or something. Level designs are sooo creative.
Also chill musics, nice dialogues, overall great job.

Thank you so much for playing!! I'm glad you liked the levels!

Submitted(+1)

Really fun and unique idea! Really love this! The game also feels polished and puzzles are fun to solve. Last level, I just go QWERTASDFZXC Space or something lol. Amazing puzzle game!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing!!

Yea the last level is kinda crazy, I'm glad a lot of people figured out that you can just do a trillion jumps to get to the goal.

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

I didn't do multi jumps, though. I think it's something like left-2xjump-right-jump-dash-2xjump-shoot-dash-jump-wait for elevator to rise-left-jump-hold left till I reached the hole. And every action sequenced into the qwertasdf keys. Now, imagine having thought of all that only to discovered that I can just spammed jump lol. Fun game, really.

My fingers became an intertwined mess at level 13 and my brain began to overheat. This is a very creative and well polished game. Will definitely revisit. Good job!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing!

I hope the last 3 levels weren't too painful for you and you could find at least some enjoyment lmao.

Submitted(+1)

hardest submission i've played yet lol, couldn't make it pass 12

Developer(+1)

I sincerely apologize to anyone who played the last three levels. I think you can really *feel* that they were created 2 hours before the deadline lmao.

Thank you so much for playing and congrats on making it that far, hope you at least enjoyed it a little bit!

Submitted

I did enjoy it! That's why I stuck out till level 12 lol. It's a cool concept to explore and your execution was quite good, just could use some polish as most if not all game jam games.

Submitted(+1)

extremely precise precision platformer hahaha, that was so hard! > x < But since the levels are only small and the check points are each level I think that makes difficulty okay and it feel less punishing. I like the theme has been used in a very unique way of the puzzle solving costing inputs, haven't seen anything like that here yet!

Glimpo is a cute lil guy and the art style is quite nice in general! Music and sound is very good too! The game has a very polished feel to it, I like the detail of the effect on the narration text at times, that's very nice.

The puzzles are generally well thought out and I like that being able to set your own inputs to give you a little bit more freedom in how to solve the puzzle, However I would've liked if the you could press the keys in any order if you have multiple on an action, since it made the game feel a bit unresponsive at first before I figured out it had to be in order.

Very high quality stuff, Well Done! : )

Developer(+1)

Thank you so so much for playing and giving a comment!!

Yea I realized I never explained that you have to press keys in order, I should've definitely made that more clear.

Thanks for all the compliments and good luck to you!!

What a very interesting game mechanic! Way to create something different and enjoyable to play. Nice job.

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! I'm glad you enjoyed. :>

Submitted(+1)

I really like this game, but I feel like Glimpo lost trust in me by the end. The art is actually amazing and the level design is pretty solid. Good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing and thanks for the compliments!!

And don't worry. Glimpo never loses trust; Glimpo is built to be the friendiest friendy friend forever.

Submitted(+1)

Very cute and very thought out game. Liked the mechanics and the puzzles. The character is soo cute!!!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! Glad you liked the game and Glimpo!!

I really like playing puzzles, especially puzzle platformers. I really enjoyed this one. I managed to beat everything in ~66s with some levels getting cheesed. Looking at the comments, I like how you kept them and let the players decide how to beat each level. Some feedback would be maybe making it more less punishing and less timing-focused. I personally prefer puzzle platformers that does not require precise timings to execute the solution. Managing precision and the solution often does not go well together for puzzles which leaves players feeling stumped. But overall, great entry for the jam!

Developer

Thank you for playing!!

Yeah this game kind of suffers from an identity crisis, I've noticed this myself. Sometimes it demands platforming skills more than puzzling which isn't great and it's something I'd definitely improve upon if I ever decide to update this.

I'm really glad you enjoyed it nonetheless, thanks for the comment!

Submitted(+1)

omg this is too demanding on my brain haha :D

made it till lvl 13, I need a rest now :)

I enjoyed your game, but I think I'd enjoy it more if there was less precise timing requirements and remembering key sequences. Maybe instead of making the player press the keys themselves you give some easy way to program it (like midi piano roll - hold this key from this to this time, etc).

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for playing!

Yea I realized this game is really tough for a lot of people, thats what no playtesting does to a game lmao. Your suggestion is very interesting and I will definitely note that, thank you!

I'm glad you could find enjoyment even if it might have been too demanding. ^^

Submitted(+1)

Everything is so polished I love it ! Super fun & creative idea, the result is challenging good job The final level took me a while to complete, mostly using jumps & dashes I love that you can do things the way you want to do it :)

Art & music sfx are amazing, the UI also is perfect, you scoped it perfectly !

Good job good game

Developer(+1)

Woah thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! <3
