This was quite a game! Very interesting concepts, a great intro tutorial, fantastic art, and a great gameplay loop.
Will you be working on this post jam?
This is a lot o content for a short jam and the modular weapon is a very cool mechanic! I was a bit confused if there was a difference between the green and purple weapon though. Still, a very unique idea I'd like to see in a full game!
Very unique game! I didn't quite manage to properly figure out what the colour orbs did but I made it work ahaha. I very much loved the art!
Really cool and unique gameplay system! I love building modular stuff!! The rock-paper-scissors(?) system isn't very intuitive, though, and it would be nice to have more time to test the build first (especially near the end). Also at one point black enemies were shooting black bullets against a black background. But overall, great entry!
I got stuck, I think I’m just bad at the game. What I was able to play was very intriguing, and I’d love it if the game had just a smidge more of a hint about what to do to open doors. Just could not seem to open the double prong door. Pretty sure I’m stupid XD
I like the graphics, and the music was a bopper. Just wish I could have experienced more!
Well done!
The trippy scifi theme was so well executed! Something about seeing brains is both horror inducing and fascinating at the same time. The weapon combination system was super cool and I thought the puzzles that stemmed from it were great. Overall wonderful and delightfully unique game!!!
Wow, this is a really interesting implementation of a modular weapon system.
It feels very dynamic but I was never really sure what difference the colored weapons made, outside of opening the doors.
I loved that combining the multi nodes created different weapon configurations. Didn't realize until after the boss that I could pretty much make a super cannon with the right ordering!
The boss design was a solid combination of the other elements of the game, cumulating into the final fight. A boss health bar element would be nice addition, I couldn't get close enough to see how far along I was.
The music, art, and SFX all blend to create a really cool cosmic brain environment.
Great work!
I enjoyed playing it! I like how we can make our own tools.
I liked the antennae mechanics
This was really fun and well done incorporating the wildcards too. I was a tad confused when opening the doors what the intent was but it didn't stop me from progressing. Fun enemy variety and interesting main tentacle growing mechanic! I had fun experimenting with various arrangements and the final boss was really fun! Felt polished and the art style felt consistent and held it all together. Fun stuff well done team you made a good game!
Wow, pretty psychedelic concept you've got here! I enjoyed the music and art too. I found the controls a little tricky — i wanted W to go where the mouse was pointing but seemed to want to go somewhere else. Still, I was able to play it so no biggie.
Total aside, but I've never seen save/load features on a browser game before and didn't even know it was possible! That's some nice polish :D
Thanks! Yeah, we did some investigation into how it’s doing that, apparently it’s using the browser IndexedDB API, agree it’s pretty cool. Godot seems to handle it natively, I’m not sure how long you can expect it to stick around, definitely it will get lost of you clear your site data.
Great how intuitive this is considering how off the wall it is lol. Those are some funky sounds!
What a delightfully strange game. Interesting weapons and configuration. Interesting units. Great music and sfx. Intense boss fight. The weapons and how they show up on enemies are pretty neat. This is a solid entry.
For the most part, I couldn't figure out the difference between the modules. I'd switch them around to find that different configurations did more damage to different enemies, but aside from the splitting and their appearance, I can't tell you what's the difference between green, purple and yellow.
Thanks!
The game's logo is a hint about the game's combat triangle and how it's used in the puzzles as well.
Ahhhhhh! I get it. :)
Coool :O
How on earth did you even come up with the idea for this?
I originally got the idea for a modular concentric weapon system because I love the Tiny Planet item in Binding of Isaac.
Wow, I really love this weapon idea! Took a moment for me to click, but I very much enjoyed this one. Great potential for both combat and puzzles, nice job!
Really clever idea! Took me a little bit to figure it out but the idea is great for a puzzle game! I like the movement, really felt like you were piloting the brain! The modular arrangements of the antenna are really cool too. Nice work!
Fun, intuitive and very unique! The combat was great as well, the damage over time with aiming and dodging made for a really satisfying experience. I loved the brain sound effect too
I'm very curious what the inspiration for this game is. It's a very novel idea and I think some extra juice could get this combat to feel really nice. I was expecting mostly a puzzle game to be honest. Pretty nice, I had fun.
The inspiration for the weapon system was a mix of the Binding of Isaac Tiny Planet item combined with BoI orbitals.
oh, neat!
The antenna mechanics are really clever and I love the audio. Visuals and presentation mesh well with everything too. I really like that it has some puzzle / adventure elements to it as a top-down shooter.
