I think having the onscreen buttons for navigation is a good touch! I like the variety of equipment and the into cinematic too! The UI for battles was hard to interpret, the outlines around targets and action choices then hitting the attack button was a little unclear. Though I did figure it out after a bit!

This is super cool I enjoyed it a lot.  I was a bit confused by the locked chests and why my key turned out to be a master key but I was having fun and finding my way eventually!  I am not the biggest fan of random encounters - I'd prefer enemies that roam around and rush you or stay still and block your way etc.  Great stuff though I was really liking it. Good atmosphere and the graphics are amazing.  Well done!

There's so much stuff! Love checking all the chests for loot. I like the cell by cell navigation. It works so well. It's difficult to navigate the dungeon though, since there isn't much distinguishing each corridor.

The first fight was a jump scare. I was walking through a quiet dungeon, then bam! The fights are fun too. Really reminding me of older FF.

Looks great too. Well done.

Veeeryyy impressive for a solo dev in a short game jam ! I loved it, very nice job ! Although I was scared because, first time I launched the game, I stumbled across a gamebreaking bug and though the game was unplayable, until I saw the comments here and I relaunched it. Found a few bugs but nothing big, specially considering the scope of the game. Congratulations!

I absolutely adore this game! Great artwork, and fun RPG mechanics, lots of different status effects and potions you can mess with, super fun! I ran into (maybe?) a bug where I faced off against an invisible enemy. Not sure if that was intended but this is what it looked like:

Either way amazing game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, it’s a bug — I rushed the enemy spawn system and it starts breaking after level 5 :/ After the rating period ends I’ll fix this and any other bugs that get found.

Submitted(+1)

That's okay, I'll just pretend it was an invisible imp :D.  When you do end up updating the game I'll definitely give it another play after the jam!

This is really impressive for a jam project! Question for you: does classic SMT have any influence on the design of this? The controls and the indicator of who's next in a battle are great!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the comment! If you mean Shin Megami Tensei, then no — I haven’t played any of them. The influence most likely comes from the Divinity: Original Sin series, Pathfinder, and FF3.

As a regular dungeons and dragons player, I absolutely love this! Love the story and gameplay, all I'll say is the controls are a little weird, great game though!

Great. I loved it, especially the 3D pixel art style, which is no wonder, I made one too (though a totally different kind of 3D pixel art, I used regular textures, pixelized with a shader, which you need to try)
There are a few things, first I restarted the game a couple of times, either I had bad luck first, or I didn't understand it at this time, how to fight. Otherwise The game froze in a fight at level 3 sadly, so I had to close it

Damn, that's impressive. The art is super cute, the animations and inventory system are super complete, like, I think there are some minor improvements I could mention, e.g. being able to press and hold to walk continuously would be nice, but holy, congrats! Overall, impressive.
Keep it up :)

This must have been a ton of work! So much here from the inventory system, spell system, turn based combat, multiple characters, etc etc. Great job!

I did run into a few bugs:

  • When I went to drag a weapon to equip it on my character, it got stuck to my mouse and any subsequent times I tried to drag items it would pick up the item but I couldn't drop it. Couldn't figure out how I caused this
  • Upon entering level 3 I was stuck facing a wall and couldn't turn or move
  • When dragging a one handed sword to replace a two handed staff, the offhand slot remains blocked
  • When dragging from an equipped slot to the inventory, you can drop items on top of each other

Holy hell you made this on your own in a week? This is amazing, super duper well done. I love it and think it's so cool.

The game is really good, really liked the vibe and the gameplay. The only thing missing is a really strong link with the jam theme. But regardless, a really cool game. Impressed by the result for a first jam by a single person.

Wow, this is honestly impressing. I love the style, the inventory feels very good, and the combat also feels very good. I died on level 2 because i kept missing my attacks but ig it happens. The only thing i would note is that if you press the attack button while the attack animation is playing it consumes the action but doesn't seem to do anything, I think it's a bug. Other than that, I really loved this one! I'll try to play it again later.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m planning to fix the bugs and polish things up after the voting period ends, so I really appreciate you reporting these issues!
