I absolutely loved it! I don't know what else to say but I think it was worth saying it! GOOD JOB!
Very cool art style! It's a very visually appealing game, and the gameplay was pretty self explanatory. I would have liked it if there was a way to replay the mime's requests, because it was easy to forget what they had asked for and just end up guessing if you didn't get it right the first time. I also would have liked if the character moved a bit faster, because walking all the way around the shop and back to get a specific item felt quite slow. Aside from that, with some more characters and interactions I could see this working as a longer game. Well done!
Thanks for playing! You can actually replay the request!! You just need to go to the counter without an item in hand and interact and it'll play it again. But it makes sense to be missed it wasn't sign posted. And the speed is something we would change after seeing reviews, I almost did before the deadline, but ended up not lol. Thanks for the compliments on the art too :)
Amazing art, idea and execution. Really well done! Loved the music too.
This was a very cute game.
Super cute game :) played it with my gf and we both loved it :D
Very cute game, I loved it!
This game was so cute it made me want to cry :') The only problem I really had was that I didn't realize at first that the key was meant to unlock the items with the padlocks over them, for some reason I thought that was an indicator that those items would be made available to me later hahaha. But other than that I loved it, the drawings were very well done and expressive, and it was fun trying to figure out what they were meant to represent before reaching that "aha" moment!
Wow, that means a lot!! Thank you! Yeah we've heard a lot about that key lmao, definitely wish we noticed that beforehand. The idea was people would see the padlocks and understand that was what the key at the start was for but having it next to a door threw people off which is very understandable. We're glad you had fun! :)
Super charming :) The artwork was amazing and the simplicity of the whole premise made it very intuitive and easy to play.
Thank you so much! Happy you had a good time and found it nice and easy to play :)
I love it, very french! It feels like you've taken the concept of Wilmots warehouse and remixed it in an interesting way. I could very much see this being a full game on the Switch!
I found all of the mime drawings to be quite clear in their communication of the activity!
Some of the items sprites were not very clear on the shelf. I think there was a videotape? I think the cigarettes were also not so clear.
Also there appears to be a rendering issue with your sprites, perhaps they were drawn too high resolution and not compressed?
I would like to see more characters - in a classic shop sim style, they're waiting for you to find the thing, they get ticked off if you're slow, they leave once they get it, etc.
The only setting which this game truly makes sense for me - is if the patron is blocked from entering the shop, then we are sent into the shop, or the back rooms to find the item. Otherwise they would be like an old lady customer who can't find anything and asks at the till, or a gas station late at night where the customers physically can't enter.
I completed the game, really enjoyed my time, very charming.
Thanks for playing and happy you had fun :)
We've both never actually heard of Wilmots warehouse lol so must just be a coincidence!
Could you clarify what you mean about the rendering issues please? To me they look alright and I can't quite see what you mean but they were drawn at higher resolutions so maybe you're seeing something I've not realised lol.
Yeah if it were to be a full commercial game we would defo be looking at adding more characters with different requests who rotate in and out of the shop and you're right about the mime not going to get the stuff himself not fully making sense, but apparently this mime thinks he's too good to be doing it himself! Perhaps some different environments where it makes sense would be fun
It looks fine when scaled full screen but scaled down and embedded in the browser window there's some shimmering, called Aliasing I believe. Should be able to enable MipMapping on the textures. Or use anti-aliasing on your camera / post processing.
Hope that helps!
It would be nice to be able to review the demand without having to be empty handed because it's annoying to go back and forth after a mistake, I also felt like some mimes were not easy to figure out, or rather they're ok but then you have 2 different bottles to choose from and it's just a guess or ok this guy wants to eat but I have like 3 different foods...maybe the items should be more unique? Anyway I think it would be ok if there was something interesting to do with movement so you can move quicker.
The presentation is great but the gameplay needs more depth.
Thanks for playing and for your feedback! You're right about replaying the actions while holding something. The items were made to come in pairs of similar things but with a distinctive action within the miming that would let you know which one to pick, admittedly the first one is hard to understand but we wanted to avoid the game being too easy by simply being a drink or some food. We did consider speeding the character up but ended up not, can see that was not the right decision in hindsight i think a sprint button would've been nice. But glad you enjoyed the presentation :)
Full on props to the art! I completely understood what the mime was looking for each time - very satisfying.
Thanks so much! Glad you could understand each item, hope you were able to find everything just as easily!! He appreciates your work, but might've got upset if you brought him the wrong stuff ;)
Loved the game, got a bug where a black rectangle was drawn over 90% of the screen halfway through unfortunately but loved it while it lasted
Firstly, thanks for playing and enjoying what you could! But I'm sorry you encountered this bug, honestly I'm not sure what it could be since I've never seen anything like that and as far as I know its not happened to anyone else :( do you remember what you were doing when it happened? Maybe I can see if I can replicate it and find the cause
was playing the web version, and it was supposed to do the next "cutscene" where hes miming out what he wants instead got a black rectangle, and it didn't go away even after the "cutscene"
Nice, cute game, with relatively clear mechanics. I was often frustrated when I knew what the customer asked for, but couldn't find it in my shop! The key/lock mechanic in particular threw me off. The game almost warmed me up to mimes and had me change my opinion, until the ending re-validated how I feel about them. Nice entry!
I've got your game timestamped in this group of playtesting videos
Thank you so much for taking the time to check it out, and for sending us the video!! The live feedback was so nice and helpful!! Sorry to see that you found it a little frustrating, maybe we could have indicated better that the key wasn't for the door? Also, maybe the good ending may be able to change your opinion on mimes? ;O LOL
Sadly this isn't in my rating queue, but I had to play it with how cute it looked. The music was lovely, and the animations were as charming as I was hoping they would be. The miming was quite a lot more challenging than I was expecting!!
Well I'm really glad you wanted to play it based just off its looks! Thank you very much!! :) Hope you managed well enough to get the good ending!
Definitely got robbed.
Amazing art style, love the mime concept. Was fun puzzling it out! Well done!
Thank you!! Glad you liked our concept. Were you able to figure out each request on your first try? :)
Love this so much! The art style is so cute and love the chill and cute vibes of it all! It fits the theme well and was nice experience to play through. Great work! :)
Thank you so much!! So glad you had a nice playthrough, hope you found both endings ;)
Love the artstyle, music, and color palette. The mines and the little cut out shuffling are adorable!
I'm not used to drawing in such a cute style, but I'm so happy to see it paid off!! Thank you very much!
Very clean and well executed!
Thank you so much!!
Absolutely wonderful art. It's just so good. Music fits very well. It's a really good premise fitting game jam theme. Congrats!
Happy you enjoyed it, thank you for rating! :)
This is awesome! I love the art style and animations and the main characters big puffy sleeves and the premise is really nice, especially in relation to the "theme" of the jam. I think you really nailed it! I really like how you played with the idea of being self explanatory via a gameplay mechanic, super smart and cute and fun, awesome work!
:D Thank you so much for the nice review!! Glad you enjoyed it, we had a lot of fun integrating the theme into the gameplay
