The aesthetics and this music, definitely a vibe! I had a lovely time playing this, simple and effective.

The main thing I felt was missing was some kind of scoring system, or at least something that gives me incentive to play and do better.

Great vibes! The art and music work so well to sell the vibe!

It was pretty tricky to judge how close I was to an object and whether I was going to hit it, so it wasn't always clear and sometimes I would be guessing. Otherwise chill little game to cruise in!

I like the music and the seapunk aesthetic!

Super chill, cool vibes, one of my faves so far!

Nice visuals and overall chill and polished experience.

Bass Pro Shop Pyramid !
My right-click on the trackpad gets stuck, so I pretty much failed any time I needed to fly right. I truly felt bad for the poor bird with the thud sound, so good job on the sound there ๐Ÿ˜‚ Nice and casual - At least, as much as I could see!

Felt good to fly through the world. Was looking for checkpoints or something but couldn't find anything. Enjoyed my time with it, nicely done!

Super dig the vintage/vaporwave aesthetic. The control scheme also felt unique and created a really interesting challenge, though it got a lot easier when I realized you could just sorta chill on the bottom of the screen, hahaha. Just your average trip to the Bass Pro Shops pyramid

Fun game, I was a bit hooked and driven to get farther and farther. I'm not sure if there's an end to it, but it would have been nice to have either something telling me how far I needed to go, or at least how far I went after dying.

Here's a playtest

Developer

Watching someone play it is so surreal, thank you for the feedback and for sharing!

Compared to Flappy Bird and such it's harder to tell if you're going to hit something or not. Also I would have preferred a health bar so that 1 touch doesn't insta end your run.

Developer (1 edit)

The game is secretly deceptively easy, and our intention was that the perspective made things seem more dangerous than they really were.  For example, the building with a split down the middle is completely safe to just fly over at the bottom.

Its funny you mention having multiple hits, that was something we initially considered!  Perhaps something for us to revisit if we continue the project.

Thank you for the feedback!

Fun and simple idea that feels very intuitive, but the camera angle makes judging distances very tricky. I had to stop playing to spare the poor bird from constantly crashing into rocks :)

Also I think this could work much better with deliberately designed levels and checkpoints, or at least randomly generated levels that start out very simple and become progressively more difficult.

Like flappy bird (but in 3D) you can open and play this for a bit  and see how far you get.   If you   wanted to expand this you could add a   visual (line) distance indicator that shows how far you've gone in different runs and you could also  make different zones with hazards / power ups.

Really nice. 3D Flappy Bird (but significantly better). Lovely aesthetic / mood as well.

Cool chill game.  And good music choice.  I started treating it as a rhythm game and really got into it.

Some part of me, a little kid that used to play countless hours of Digimon World in the PS1, is having fun again, while the adult is tearing at the nostalgia.

The soundtrack and wind foley really made the vibes hit hard...

In terms of design, I didn't understand if I was progressing at all. But maybe that was not the point of this game at all.

Good stuff

This is a great idea, it's kind of like Superflight crossed with Flappy Bird! Really intuitive and fun to just fly around. Only feedback is the fixed camera makes it really difficult to dodge obstacles and see what's going on. This is a super fun game!

3d flappy bird is such a great concept. The controls were very intuitive and the aesthetic was so calming. Awesome work.

For feedback i would say the fixed camera made some of the dodges at the edge a little difficult to judge.

Awesome work

Can feel really good narrowly dodging obstacles through the limited controls. Player character responds precisely as expected and failure feels deserved, even somewhat comical. The randomly spawned obstacles necessitated a healthy variety of tactics to dodge and made cheesing the game difficult.

can you add like a browser or mac version before the jam ends i dont have a pc

Developer (1 edit)

Sorry!  We'll see about getting one uploaded.. although we're not sure if its allowed for the jam.

We did have a web version, but it completely changed the lighting, and wasn't representative of our tone.

I understand but you know, its bit hard for me to rate without playing lol

Developer(+1)

I believe we've resolved the lighting issue with the web build.
Page has been updated, and it should be playable in browser now.
