Fun little inventory game. Reminds me of Resident Evil 4's inventory system.  Loved the balatro reference, wish that there was an indicator that told me how many levels there were left so I know there's an end to the game.  Apparently there's a secret ending I didn't get, but I finished 10 rounds. Would've loved to play a round where I need to fit everything perfectly into every slot

I like this take on the theme. Simple and neat. Great job :)

Found it really satisfying! Nice and simple SFX really helped there.
Good job on implementing a tetris style inventory system in the time alloted! I investigated making one for my entry this time but damn, it seems like a lot of work! So kudos to you both!

Developer

It was certainly a challenge and I’m pretty happy I decided to make it the central focus of this submission, not much time for anything else (except the secret ;) )

I like the twist, the mundane aspects of the bounty hunting profession often go underappreciated, so its nice to see some representation here! Difficulty aside, I thought the inventory controls were really good, nice and responsive and easy to move things around. So yeah if you ramped up the challenge a bit, I think this would be awesome, nice work!

Thanks! A lot of the jam time went into the mechanics of the grid, appreciate the kind words 👍

I like the idea! It's unfortunate you didn't find time to tune the difficulty, since that makes the gameplay a bit flat. The opening menu rendered only on a quarter of my screen, but the hover animation on the wild cards was cute.

Developer

Thanks for playing ! For the screen issue, do you mean parts of the screen were missing, or just that it was scaled down compared to your resolution ? (I didn’t particularly work on any fullscreen support)

I have a 2560x1600 display (M1 mac) and wasn't running full screen.

This is awesome.  I found the secret ending and I'm happy I did that was fun.  The presentation of the wildcards I must say was very cute as well.  So fun the secret ending card was hiding.

Great font work and art.  Loved the theme use as well and its very original!  I enjoyed the gameplay as well!

Like you already mentioned it's not tightly tuned or anything which is understandable for a jam time scope.  I appreciated it was always possible though even when there were more items. Well done you two, good game!

Developer

Thanks, glad you liked it 👍

I agree that it needs more challenge.

The secret's really cute. Totally worth looking for it. I would have skipped it if the end screen didn't remind me that it was still there. On that note, I love how you presented the wildcards on your title screen.

Developer(+1)

Thanks ! The wildcard presentation was a last minute addition but I’m glad it strikes a note. Happy you found the secret 😉

Its a nice idea and I think there could definitely be some fun to be had solving puzzles but it seemed like i could always place everything. The overall atmosphere and art was nice though!

Developer(+1)

yeah I’ll revisit the difficulty after the jam. thanks for your kind comment <3 I couldn’t rate your submission unfortunately, not being on a Windows machine :(

Hehe, kinda original idea with a classic gameplay. Love the art overall, but the game isnt' challenging in the slightest. I did like 10 to 12 levels and I just mindelessy put item without thinking and it worked. Since this is a kinda puzzle game, I would have love to really think about it to find the anwser. Great job tho and congrats on the game ! :D

Developer(+1)

yeah, tuning the difficulty up came up too late in the end. I’ll definitely revisit the challenge aspect after the jam to improve on that front with a v2!
