Cool idea for a game, and the characters are very cute.  I thought it was kind of hard to play, though. It's a lot of keys to memorize and I kept pressing the wrong ones. 🤪

In level 1, I accidentally used up the magnet without realizing what I was doing, making the level impossible to complete. I had to reload the page. LOL.  I wasn't able to solve the other levels.  (Although I didn't spend a ton of time on them)

Nice game ! The switch between side scrolling and top down was good. I suggest keeping the base resolution slightly lower as a lot of users might have 1080p displays.

I love that the characters were based on magnetic poles! And the core idea of perspective changing has a lot of potential. Personally, i would love to see a co-op mode.

Great Job!

The idea has much potential, but the game felt a little hard to control. I think this game can grow into something cool with some finetuning on the controls/physics part!

I liked the switch between top down and side scroll! That was clever. I felt like it was missing something - weird that the menu art doesn’t really match anything in game. They feel a bit disconnected. I wonder if your original vision was to create tiles like in the menu at all, or if you got external help in any way. In any case, congrats on finishing the jam and thanks for trying out my game!

Developer

Thanks for playing 😄

No hahaha, we just didn’t have enough time to create proper menu art during the jam 😅

Ooh I like the top down/side scroller combination, very cool! Nice work on the submission!

Cool little game. The two character switching is a really cool mechanic. Congrats!

Hey, the magnetism is a really good idea. Had been nice to see the ground and tiles be like the nice art of the character and box, but overall a nice game.

Would you play and rate mine, too?

The design is just gorgeous! The mechanics of switching between top-down and platformer controls is a great find.  Hats off to you!  😎

I would play a game like that.

The platformer/top-down combination gameplay is a really cool idea and has so much potential for interesting puzzles. I think this idea could make for a really fun co-op game! I think the platforming physics could use some tweaking, making precision jumps was a little difficult.

Developer

Thanks for playing 😄

Really glad you liked it, and thanks for the feedback! We’ll definitely look into improving the controls and platforming feel.

Good idea of using two player component and magnetic levels. However I wasn't able to play more than 1 level. It felt like the game stuck. Good game design though.

Developer

Thanks for playing 😄

Sorry that we didn’t do a very good job with the tutorial 😅 We’ll try to make things clearer and easier to understand next time

Fun idea to have the two characters swap around and help each other. The magnet buttons didn't really do anything for me, but maybe I misunderstood it?

Developer

Sorry for the confusion 😅

We actually ran out of time to add a proper magnet range indicator/tutorial, so it’s not very clear in-game right now. The magnet only works when the two characters are within a certain range of each other.

This one's too tough for me! I completed the first two levels, and I was able to get to the end of the third... the controls aren't tight enough to avoid the spikes, even when I know they're there. I tried placing a box in the way to help, and that still wasn't enough. Those spikes are out for blood! Similarly, I understood what to do in the fourth stage, and again despite knowing where the spikes are and what's expected of me, I lack the finesse to get through the obstacles. I promise I tried my best!

There is some flicking between the sprites which is noticeable while playing as the blue character. You should be able to easily fix that by adding the tiles to a sprite atlas.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing. Yeah the spikes might be a little too unforgiving right now 😅 We definitely need to polish the controls and balance the difficulty a bit more. Also thanks for pointing out the sprite flickering issue too! We’ll look into the sprite

I loved how you managed to make a platformer and a top-down game coexist in the same world! Brilliant!

The game is quite hard, and there are some clunky interactions that wouldn’t get in the way as much if they were a little more polished. If only we had a little more time, right? Hahaha.

As others mentioned, I think using the AI image right on the cover overshadowed some of the craftsmanship that went into the game. I’d say even a plain gray background might work better.

Great work. I had a lot of fun playing. Thank you!

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot for playing 😄

Really glad you enjoyed the idea of mixing the platformer and top-down gameplay together!

And yeah hahaha, if only we had more TIME!!!😂

Agree about the cover art —We’ll definitely improve it

Thanks again for the feedback and kind words!

I like the switching between characters, took me a while to figure out how it's played though even with the tips, it's an interesting take on the theme and the platform/puzzle game genre, well done!

Fun game, Well Done!

The idea of switching is nice, and levels are quite challenging.

Maybe next time try not to mix different art styles… ;)

Glad you liked the mechanic. Thx for the feedback we will try to keep the visuals more consistent next time

Love the idea of the two characters being in different "world spaces".  I think some tweaking on the feel will make this an awesome game! Great job and keep up the awesome work.
