The most fun game I've played this jam. Only improvement I could suggest would be more complex progression system but for a game jam game it is really fun

Super fun, honestly was hard to stop playing, even after fully clearing like 7 runs. Lasers go brrr :3

WOW! This game is really amazing. I could keep playing it all day. You've actually checked all the boxes.

The game is easy to understand and get into, very fast-paced, and satisfying to watch. There is a great variety of weapons to use and countless strategies you can experiment with. On top of that, there are upgrades that make your next run even better, which adds a lot of replay value.

FANTASTIC ENTRY!

I had to go back and write a second comment, because i was hooked and keep coming back just to play this game and find better and better strategies that would insta wipe enemy ships.

This game is addictive and it's getting out of hand!

Also the enemy scaling after beating the game makes it even more challenging, which is a nice touch!

Aww thanks so much, we're so glad you like it! :)

Submitted(+1)

Liking it? That's an understatement :D

Nice game, very addictive! A bit too difficult, but… good job!

Developer(+1)

Yeah, I think the early difficulty curve ended up being a lot more RNG-dependent than we realized or hoped. I've had runs where I get off the ground really fast, which snowballs into getting a lot of points and making the next run easier...and I've had runs where I struggle for 10-20 minutes before it starts to take off because I'm losing too much to even farm the points.
And much of it comes down to what components the enemy ships happen to start with and how much of a chain you can form based on your colors. We were tweaking these things in the final 12 hours of the jam and had to prioritize some tasks, but such is the way it goes.

Thanks for playing!

This was a fun project to play. Very interesting mechanics. I enjoyed trying to match the side of the squares trying to connect them for fast cool downs. Color coding the logic in this way was interesting. I find auto battles kinda fun, don't really play them for as much as I like them. But seeing how they are implemented is always fascinating. The gameplay loop is not forever and is just enough. And for people that want to continue to play, they get rewarded with more possible power in their builds, which in its own, creates a drive to keep playing. I lost track of the time playing it because I was so determined trying to get as many color matched sides as I could, really trying to make 3 and 4 way links. My favorite part of this is that you can freely rearrange the board as many times as you like; you have all the freedom to change your mind, rearrange, and adapt all your pieces as you go to take advantage of new combinations that may present themselves after each new piece.

The graphics are generally simply and everything is easy to read. It's very decent in it's current state and doesn't need any additions unless you want to add more dynamic feedback which would improve the game's feel, such varying sound effects as you take damage / enemy receives damage, particle effects like: your tiles start to smoke as they glow increasingly red from the increased damage. When your parts die, maybe they explode (even though they refresh after the battle is done simulating~ kind of counter intuitive on that one- they're actually nanobots that just reassemble~ lol XD), maybe some screen shake~ general juicy effects that really enhance what you have since all seems pretty stable. Maybe even consider different tile types that have new effects.

Nice work!!

I feel like someone would say... this would be a good mobile game? lol Especially since you don't need all these complicated controls to play it (from my perspective).

Thanks for playing!  We really wanted a few more days to add some more polish, but that's just how jams go.  We were also hoping it would just run well on mobile as is, unfortunately there is a crash that happens in the later waves when playing on mobile, and currently tooltips don't work on mobile either.  This is my first Godot project so I don't immediately know the cause of the crash even with the error message, but after the jam I may try to fix it.

Submitted

I hope you do fix it! I am not a mobile game player, I played this on my browser so I didn't come across any areas. But I'm sure there will plenty of people that would enjoy it on mobile : )

Such a great roguelike autobattler.  Love how it's so quick to understand yet so hard to really do well.

Sometimes I felt like the options were specifically trolling me, though!

Surprising amount of depth.  I stayed up too late playing this and will again.

I really like this game and the concept for an autobattler. It's really satisfying when you have a big build and your ship is all connected with each other. I personally don't like dying in order to get stronger, but I see the appeal of the progression aspect. Overall great game :D

woow
that is something new
usually dont play auto-battlers
but this one got me addicted xd

Submitted(+1)

Played all the way to victory, loved it, really liked the progression.  At first I was concerned that it took a while to get enough points to start upgrading, but once you get a good run going, you feel pretty powerful even while having a few close calls.  Would like punchier SFX and some more story, but this was gret.

I like where this is going, would love to see more. Reminded me of FTL but a puzzle game haha

Developer

Good catch! FTL was a loose inspiration throughout development, particularly with how shields worked. Thanks for playing!

Very cool concept, very addictive, cool mechanics.

Keep coming back to increase my rating each time lol. Very fun!

This is one addictive autobattler! the combination between some roguelite aspects with color puzzles really adds to the replayability, it's always satisfying to put together a powerful combination of nodes and to see it wipe the floor during battle. Easy recommend!

Submitted(+1)

Really enjoyed this one! I really liked the combination of autobattler mechanics with the whole “connections” idea in the unit designs. It worked really well for me, and I found the mechanic genuinely interesting to experiment with and play around.

In general, the game just feels good to play. I’ll probably come back to it after rating some more games :)

I spent over 30 minutes playing through, clearing waves in a few volleys by the end.  perfectly set up for me. loved it will play again. let me know when you expand it into a full game and i will pay money for it!

10/10 no notes

One of my favorites so far from this jam, this is really fun. Awesome use of the theme with an auto battler, I'd definitely play more of this if it were even more fleshed out - great job!

Usually I dont love autobattlers - but this was really cool!
