Nice game and one of the best in Story. Great job :)

Thanks

This was really fun! I really liked the tamagotchi town style. It gave me some nostalgia and is a great way to expand on that experience. Nice work!

Submitted

Nice take on the art direction! You nailed it. It was a fun little ride

Submitted(+1)

Never had one of those, but one day my computer science teacher told us at the beginning of our lesson "if you hear some noises, thats the tamagochi of my daugther dying, because she accidentially put it in my pocket... i fed it with lots of icecream in hope it goes faster" 😬 anyways, nice oldschool game you created there, good job

Cool! I never played Tamagotchi, I see how it could become addictive lol

5/5 aesthetics

Submitted

Peak !  Short but memorable experience, Music is melodious and really well done.

Great game, I loved the aesthetics and connection to the theme! It's outside the scope of a game jam of course, but I would love to play a version of the game where you have to also manage their relationship to one another via multiple choice dialogues! (something you hinted at when one fo the hueborn complains about another being full of themselves). Great entry! :D

Submitted

Really cool entry, I liked how the aesthetic choice also played into the theme. I managed to get the tower up to full quite quickly, and I don’t think I ever found the use for medicine or got many dialogues, so maybe I just played a bit too well 😅 Still very cool and I was impressed by the range of mechanics at play.

Also, I see you used Godot, so I’m interested in how you found building a low-res game with it? Especially concerning the UI, did you make your own UI systems or were you able to get the control system working at this low resolution?

Developer(+1)

Hi thanks for checking it out.  The base resolution of project is 84x48, upscaled on Itch settings to 840x480.  ALL UI systems were made in Control nodes and Tiny font was set to 5.  Not alot of words can fit/wrap into the size of the box so dialogue was deliberately split into  each wait for press event.

Submitted

Gotcha, thanks for explaining! I’m potentially going to work on a low-res game soon for another jam so I appreciate you telling me.

No prob!

Nice Game. Thanks for making it.

Bold to make a game about rainbow colored characters in Nokia monochrome.

It said I took care of them all, and they slid down their rainbow, but I never once found Ola, let alone helped them out!

I believed each hueborn likes a food the same color as themselves, I'm not sure what shrooms would count for though.

There's a medicine option, is that implemented? No one seemed sick, and I had no medicine to give in any case.

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yea ran out of time to properly implement sickness. They get about 10% chance of being sick at each new day. They do sometimes get ill but no visual indication and they'd take medicine like eating food. Doesn't affect stats much but would like to implement fully post-jam. You're correct each of them likes the food of the same colour, more or less. 👍

Very neat submission!

I played it to completion and even restarted to see what would happen if I refuse to help the Hues.

The retro graphics are a standout compared to the entries I’ve seen so far.

I love how the Hues have different personalities. Some of them can be cynical, as opposed to all of them being obnoxiously happy which is a nice touch.

A fullscreen toggle would’ve been nice

not-so-fun fact: Back in the 90s, everyone at school had a Tamagotchi except me. Still bitter about it to this very day … 😒

Developer(+1)

Thanks!

I didn't have Tamagotchis too actually. My cousin was into them. I was more into Pokemon cards

Loved the aesthetic, really took me back to the good old days. Well done

Nice game and well done!

Simple and polished, but I had to quit after I went fishing and caught a bass; when I read a sign after that, it asked if I wanted to catch a fish and picking yes and no wouldn't close the prompt so I ended up having to quit.  Definitely interested in going back and finishing still, I wanna see the ending.

Developer(+1)

I've managed to reproduce this so I'll be working on a fix straight away. I'll let you know when it's patched thanks

Developer(+1)

I've uploaded the fix. Apologies for that

Very simple game but very well done.

Not sure how there's some people who thinks the game is too complex where I can just spam pet and clean them and that's good enough for them haha. There were a lot of options for taking care of the creatures but I guess I just cheesed the game a bit. Not sure because of it's because of that but it does take me a bit more time to get to the ending than I kinda like with these kinds of intentionally simplistic game.

The music and the sounds were enjoyable.

Overall a job well done!

Developer

Yea feeding them their favourite foods would speed up the process. If you let the timer run idle from the start  and do nothing, that alone can get you up to stage 3 of the tower before their hunger completely stops their affection from growing.  Thanks for checking it out!

Cool art style, nice and well crafted systems. Even if the game is a little long, some experiences can only reach their potential if you take your time with it.

Nice implementation of the graphics, within the challenge of the resolution you worked with! That was fun cozy game!Tthe clock ticked so fast, I went running from house to house like a madman, hahaha! The theme here is nice too!

And they are SO PICKY WITH FOODS! GOSH!! I wasn't like that as a kid! hahaha!

Adorable game, with nice well rounded systems! Took me a while to figure things out, but I managed 😊😊

If I had to say something to improve, and I know it's a limitation of the resolution, but the 'W' s were a bit hard to read sometimes..  But other than that, solid entry! 😊😊✨

Congrats to the team!

(Edit to say that after a while I was like.. 'uhm... 🤔...' and then OHHH!!! I realized that they surely will have a wonderful time up there!! 😂😂🎵🎶")

Thanks!

Absolutely adorable, loved the music especially - using the Blues scale was classy ;) thanks for trying my game too!

Awwh, I'm also sad to see them go 🥹

Very cute and I love love loved the aesthetic! I could see myself playing this for hours. The only thing that threw me off a tiny but was the time it took for the input key to register again after an animation or ending the chat. Otherwise great game 💛

Developer(+1)

You've made it to the end! Thanks for your time and feedback ❤️
