Nice job, looks like a lot went into getting this out.

Ah the dreaded “escort quest” >:D
Overall I liked this one.
The game was fun, sound design was alright and the graphics were a nice mix of hand drawn-yet-polished for a jam game.
The areas where I believe the game could benefit most are:
-
Difficulty curve: Start with weaker and slower enemies at first. I got far enough to see that enemies to in fact get faster and stronger, but I think the current starting point should be the “mid game”.
-
More upgrade choices/variety. You could have had options such as projectile speed, max projectile distance, escort orb speed, escort orb max HP, maybe HP regen, maybe adverse effects for enemy orbs such as making them slower, have less HP, less density etc.
Nice work all in all.
Fun shooting game. It was fun gaining upgrades and getting more powerful. I do thing some of the enemies move too fast, especially if they spawn in front of the soul you're protecting. Good job!
I like the visuals - it reminds me of classic flash games from the 00s!
That was fun, I really liked the idea behind this one. I only wish I could just hold the mouse button to fire instead having to click it the whole time, I couldn't click fast enough for the upgrades to matter all that much :P Clean visuals and nice audio work. Well done!
loved the idea for this one!
i feel genre wise we went down a kind of similar route haha
just wanted to note that i think holding down the shoot button instead of tap firing would greatly increase the comfort while playing, my hand is dead!
Awesome job! Very solid entry. My main issue was how much i had to click repeatly on the mouse, maybe a timer near the player showing when my next attack was, or the ability to hold to attack.
Otherwise the level was cool! enemies jumping out, visuals looked great, i love a well done simple visual.
Fun! Simple concept proven right out the gate, easy to immediately understand and start playing till the end. Some of the upgrades didn't feel helpful but they were useful overall. I think what this needs next is a graphics overhaul, some more nuanced enemy behaviors, and you got yourself a gem!
Game looks good and the idea is interesting. Something I found very weird is that I able to purchase a higher tier of an upgrade before purchasing its lower tier version.
Very smart interpretation of the theme. I really liked how your movement is actually restrained to the moving character and how enemies are targeting it rather than you. Very clever and fun design.
The minimalist art style is pretty good and clean. My only feedback would be about the audio in general. I didn't really feel like it matched the game's visuals. I also think more effects, like camera shake and chromatic aberration, would work nicely as damage effects.
Since you're using Unity, I’d also suggest looking into Feel by More Mountains. It can really enhance the game feel and help you add a lot of polish very quickly.
Great work!
Thank you so much! I’m really glad the movement restriction mechanic came across the way I intended — that was the core idea I wanted to build around, so it’s awesome hearing that it felt clever and fun to play.
I also really appreciate the feedback about the audio and effects. I definitely agree the game could use more impact and juice during gameplay. Camera shake and chromatic aberration are great suggestions, and I’ll definitely check out Feel by More Mountains too, I’ve heard good things about it before.
I like the idea, it was however a bit difficult to keep tracks of the playable one if it leaves the screen, and an autofire would be a nice addtion. Good idea and good job!
Really liked the concept and the fantasy atmosphere of the game! The whole “SoulLink” idea fits the jam theme perfectly, and while the graphics are fairly simple, they’re still very visually pleasant and charming.
The project feels creative and memorable overall. Great work!
I protected my soul bond through the darkness. A fun game with good music and visuals. Would have been nice to have auto fire
I like the idea. I wish there were more obstacles to have to circumvent and it would be nice to be able to just hold down the mouse button to fire instead of tapping every time.
You made a fun twist on the escort mission. Love the music choice. The game was well designed.
