How does your game fit the Theme & Boss Battle Edition?
You play as a cyborg who defends the last golem. A player is trying to kill this golem and will keep respawning. You must keep fighting them over and over with the help of the golem as they respawn. Each run they get better and better. This mimics a boss fight where you are the boss and the player's skill progressively increases.

Game Engine?

Unity

Self-made & used stuff?

Homemade Graphics/Art (e.g. models and/or textures)
Homemade Audio (e.g. music and/or sound effects)
Assets (e.g. free or purchased assets used in the game)

Have you joined a game jam before?

Yes

Roughly how much time did you spend developing? (in hours)
~40-50

Anything else you'd like to share about your game or development process?
We had an amazing and talented team working on this project. Almost all the assets were made by our team.

I like the idea of this game, however there are a lot of bugs I ran into, like my healthbar just disapearing, being able to just hold R and never have to reload, and I felt like I was doing something wrong, after deafeating like 7 heros and nothing different happening. A liitle bit more instructions would go a long way.

Very polished experience!
Loved the art style and sfx (good voice acting). The storytelling was also very nice. My main critique is about the gameplay, I don’t know if I was doing something wrong, but I killed around six heroes and the game just repeated (which is fine for an arcade like game). Also, reloading felt a bit useless, as I could just keep R pressed and it would instantly reload without any delay in shooting.
Aside from these small criticisms though, i think this is a very neat and polished entry. Nice work! 👍👍

P.s. I don't usually ask, but I would love to hear your feedback about my game too, thanks in advance!

The fact that this is a 3D game made for a game jam is already an incredible achievement on its own! Congratulations to the team for the effort put into that aspect, as it really stands out compared to the majority of jam games, which are usually 2D.

I also have to say that I absolutely loved the atmosphere. To me, it felt unique and fantastic. From the ground to the sky and the background scenery, every detail was interesting to look at. The only thing that felt slightly out of place were the markers on the ground, but I don't consider that a negative point since they serve an important purpose for the golem's attacks. In games, readability is often much more important than pure aesthetics.

Speaking of the golem, I found its attacks quite interesting. Even though there weren't many variations, the fight still managed to stay engaging throughout. It was fun to see the enemy evolve after each defeat. There was one moment when it got stuck against a wall though, haha, and I was able to finish it off pretty easily because of that.

I didn't encounter any major issues during gameplay, but I did feel that my mouse sensitivity was extremely high, even when I set it to the lowest possible value in the settings menu. I'm not sure whether that's something related to my computer or perhaps the web version of the game. Another small thing I would suggest is having the weapon automatically reload when the magazine is empty and the player presses the fire button. Right now, after running out of ammo, you have to press R every time, which slightly interrupts the frantic pace of the action. It's just a minor detail, but I think it could subconsciously make the combat flow feel even smoother and more exciting.

Overall, I think the team did an excellent job. Both the visual design and the audio design were wonderful. The voice acting fit the game very well, and it's easy to see the care and effort that went into this project. Congratulations to everyone involved, and I wish you the best of luck in the jam!

Thank you so much for playing our game! Im glad you liked the atmosphere and what we were going for :D. I didn't know about the mouse sensitivity issue, we should probably increase the range then😅. And for the reload weapon automatically, that's a great suggestion! Thanks for letting us know that :D.
Thank you again for this very detailed review ! Best of luck to you too as well. :D

At first, I did not fully understand what was happening, but one thing was clear: there was an enemy, and it was either him or me, haha.

I found the Golem’s assistance during the battle interesting. It would be nice to have some effects when the hand impacts the ground, and maybe the player character could also show some kind of damage or stun reaction.

I noticed a few polish points that could be really interesting, if they make sense for you. The weapon keeps shooting during the reload animation, and I think it would feel more immersive if shooting was locked during that moment. I also noticed that the right-click ability happens at the same time as the left-click shot. Maybe this is intentional, but if not, it could be nice to allow only one action at a time.

When I get too close to the enemy, almost touching it, it feels like the collision overlaps and the shots stop hitting. I imagine the idea is not really to get that close to the enemy, haha.

Other than that, I thought it was really good. The game gives a strong feeling of a dark universe and a sense of scale, as if we are just a small piece in the middle of everything. It almost feels like seeing colossi in the background, as if we could eventually reach them at any moment.

I also liked the physics and the feeling created by the aiming. About the movement, maybe the tilting to the left and right could be a bit more subtle outside combat, but during combat it feels amazing. It creates a frantic sense of pressure, with a difficult enemy that barely gives you any breathing room. It really activates that survival mode, haha. Poor mouse.

Congratulations on the work!

Thank you for playing our game! I did thought I added some screenshake effects and sound effects when the golem hits the ground😅.
The weapon keep shooting during reload was a complete overlook, so thanks for pointing that out :D. Also I didn't know about the whole collision overlap thing as well😅😅. But thanks for giving your feedback :D

Congrats folks,

The shooting system looks better than a lot of AAA games :D

And also the dubs are amazing.

Developer

Thank you for playing our game! Glad you liked the shooting system and dubs :D

Very cool game! Shooting and abilities are very well done, feels fun. I didn't really notice much difference in enemy movement or abilities with every death. General idea of golem helping you is nice.

Player didn't feel like a boss though, yeah, the golem is helping him, but it does not do that much and without the golem you have the same abilities as the enemy does. I encountered only one bug, it is very easy to make the enemy stuck in the tutorial target, don't think there is any reason for it to stay there after the tutorial.

Developer(+1)

Hey there! Thank you for playing our game. The movement abilities for you and the player being the same was actually intentional😅. The inspiration was supposed to be the boss V2 from ultrakill actually. Thank you for letting us know about the tutorial glitch :D.

Fun idea! I like that you get stronger as you get ‘killed’ until the final downing. Took a bit for me to realize, but is a cool feeling.

The enemies were a bit too jumpy and tanky for my taste, I just held down the left mouse button for 10 minutes. I made it to level 9 but seemed the heroes just keep respawning.

Shooting/movement felt fun though and I liked having a golem buddy to call in!

Developer(+1)

Yes the game has no ending, it just keeps going on, hence the name, no end in sight😅. And thank you for playing our game :D

I was very impressed with this game; making a 3D game in 10 days isn't easy. Plus, the sound effects are perfect, especially the voice acting!

Unfortunately, I encountered a lot of bugs, like being able to reload while shooting, falling off the map, and enemies often getting stuck.

But all in all, it's a very interesting entry and perfectly suited to the theme. Nice team work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing our game! I didn't know you could still fall of the map, I thought I fixed that😅 but thank you for letting us know of all the bugs.

I really liked the golem mechanic, and honestly, the player AI is quite a challenge. Great work!

Thank you for playing my game! I'm glad you enjoyed it

Love the idea that having an golem as an assist it was fun to play i wish there was headshot too this will give a bit more challenge on speedrun and the game just randomly move the screen on it own without moving an mouse i don't know why . But anyway it was fun to play :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing my game! I think the randomly moving screen might be because it loaded a music track in or some lag spike probably😅, so it might be an optimization issue.

The idea to have a boss/golem as an helper is fun and  cool! I just wish i wasn't so bad in this kind of game :D

I had some difficulties understanding what the golem can do in the different spots and if there is a cooldown time, most of the time i was just running away from the enemy while shooting.
