Nice little game, especially considering it's your first one.

The main character is somewhat mismatched with the rest of the 3D props, but it's a pretty minor thing.

I liked the scene switching mechanics, but I have to say I really didn't enjoy the static noise transitions. It feels really jarring and fatiguing to me, both visually and audibly, especially since you have to switch between them very often to solve the puzzle. If you could change it to a smoother, much gentler transition, I think it will improve the player experience much better. It would also fits the rest of the game more.

I would also tweak the jumping a bit to make the player not as floaty. I would also add pitch-shifting to the footstep sounds to make it less monotonic.

Overall, still a decent entry. Keep up the good work!

Thank you!

Yessss I am a 2D artist so the 3D models came from the game jam asset bundle they sold prior to the game jam so that would be the reason. I really want to eventually go for a grease pencil style so I can keep my hand-drawn feel in there but make it 3D, but I didn't have time to learn 3D modeling for the jam <3

Ah thank you for that feedback! I grabbed my noise sound effects from my subscription with Envato so I will definitely scout out a different sound effect if I continue down this path or learn to make my own :)

I did add coyote timers for jumping so I could pull the gravity down once you cross the arc of your jump, but I might have to tweak it more to be more dramatic <3 I was playing Rayman Legends while coding this trying to get a feel for their jumping since I absolutely love how that game feels as a platformer!

Thank you SO much for the wonderful feedback!
