Interesting concept, I wasn’t able to sneak past the guys.
I guess I’m not good enough.
Thank you for playing! The game doesn’t really have a tutorial yet, and just throws you into the action. So we plan to make the introduction of stealth mechanics more gradual.
Well, it's a cool idea and I appreciate the elaborate world you created, but I was just not able to sneak past the guys at all. 🤷♂️
I was playing the web version, which worked reasonably well for me.
Thanks for playing! Do you feel that sneaking past the guards felt unfair at all?
Not exactly "unfair". But with multiple guards all looking in different directions, one of them always noticed me moving.
Most other people seemed to be able to play this game with no problem, so I guess I am just bad at it. 🤪
I'm no good at stealth games and the enemies (seemingly) detecting me behind my back didn't really help...
But definitely a clever mechanic to be able to assimilate some object's look in order to hide!
Thanks so much for playing! If you could, can you elaborate on ‘detecting me behind my back’? Im curious to see if we can reproduce the issue.
We tried escaping in the black van with open back first until we read in the comments it is the white one xD
The ability switching was nice and the characters looked cool. Nice submission :)
Thanks so much for playing!
Great game. Would love to see it expanded with more levels and different objects/abilities. Well done!
Thanks for playing! We are absolutely gonna expand this more, so stay tuned!
Really liked the game. However, I could run from people like indefinetely. Loved the special abilities for different morphed objects though.
Thanks for playing! When you ‘run from people indefinitely’, could you be more specific? Were the enemies running to you but never catching up? Were the enemies easy to outrun?
Yes enemies were not able to catch up to me. I am not sure if that was intentional.
Thanks for playing! This is a known bug. But we do not have a 100% reproduction rate yet. Once we do, we should be able to narrow down what part of the pathing logic is causing the issue. Thanks for reporting!
Really neat idea! The flow of the level to the target was very intuitive. Then I spent five minutes trying to find a way to get into the black van parked halfway in a building and not the white van that was the obvious escape vehicle.
The guards were pretty good at detecting me, but not so great at doing anything about it. For the most part they seemed content to shout "Hey!" and immediately give up chasing me to wander back to their patrols. Like they've seen a walking barrel before and only want to point one out if they spot it.
No music, but the rain sounds fit with the rain imagery. The spring noise and that yell when you stab as a knife are perfect.
Thanks so much for playing! That detail about the black van is helpful! Also, this was my first venture into enemy AI programing, so i definitely need to do some research on how to make them more intelligent. Hopefully, they will become more intomidating.
I love the concept, the art style, and the whole Agent Slug vibe. I honestly wanted more. It felt too short because I was having fun.
The mission setup is great, too. Contract 01 being active, the target Slimy Jim, and the S.L.I.M.E. organization all give the game a funny but cool stealth-action identity.
The main thing I would watch is collision and cover behavior. I tried hiding beside one enemy, but he walked by and destroyed my cover, so I thought I was caught, but somehow escaped. I also managed to clip through the green door behind the big truck while exploring.
Overall, I had fun. The game has a strong concept, a fun tone, and I would definitely play more missions.
Thanks for the feedback! We definitely wanted to have more in the demo, but we spent most of the time working on the core loop and aesthetics. The good thing is, we think this is very scalable and plan to start expanding into more levels, more characters, more morphing, and all sorts of things!
game looks so much fun. sound effects, art style is 10/10. it lags on browser to the point that it becomes unplayable. i would love to try the windows build sometime, but i’m on linux right now. good game.
This is really interesting feedback. It honestly never occurred to me to make a Linux build. I know Unity makes the process pretty straightforward, but I don’t personally run Linux, so I have no way to properly test it myself.
That said, I’ll put together a Linux build and send it over to you. If you’re interested, feel free to try it out and let me know how it runs and how it feels on your system.
Ok, I have uploaded a Linux build on the main page. I was not able to test it on my end, because I do not have a Linux distro setup. But please feel free to give it a go!
Thanks for uploading. linux build works much smoother than the web build. there is some stuttering at times i guess due to the rain. game is well built. it was fun 2x the fun once i got hold of the knife XD.
Great! Glad you enjoyed it!
Fun game, I could not figure out how to shoot though. Exploring around the map, going around the corners was fun ! I really wish the controls for jumping would be more visible, I really wanted to morph into spring and jump. A very entertaining experience overall.
Thank you for playing! We would love more specific feedback: what exactly was challenging about being able to morph into the spring? Were you unable to find it? Did the prompt for morphing not appear?
I mean the jumping as seen in the GIF on main game page. I was able to morph into the spring without any problems by pressing 'F' near it. The prompt appeared near it, it wasn't a problem.
That’s actually great feedback. Right now, abilities are tied to left click, so with the spring, left click becomes jump. But most people are so used to spacebar being jump that it can feel a bit confusing at first.
We could probably fix that by letting both left click and spacebar activate abilities, so it still keeps the system consistent while feeling more natural to players.
Do you think the main issue was expecting jump to be on spacebar? Or was left click not activating the jump?
I was expecting space bar to be the jump button.
Perfect! We will iron that out in the next patch!
I played the game again and figured I had to jump on the top of the house, morph into the knife and eliminate the target. It was fun. nice work on the game overall.
Excellent!
Definitely a fun game! I wasn't skillful enough to suceed in my assassination by myself, but then I found an exploit by multiple pressing 'F' while in despair of being hit, and then I was able to survive, check the map & the props and what needed to be done
Good work!
Thank You for playing! And thank you for pointing out the exploit!
Curious, when you say you weren’t skillful enough, do you think the game felt unfair at all?
Not unfair at all! I was in a rush and didn't had the properly time to learn the patterns and play it through
A very charming game with a simple and effective mechanic! It reminds me of the first 3D PC games — such great memories! Congratulations on the result!
Thank you! I’m curious, what specific games come to mind when you say ‘first 3D PC games’?
I made it!! I killed the guy and the wilhelm scream popped up, hahaha!
Super Metal gera solid vibes!! I love how versatile the morphs are!
With a little bit of polish, some hints for the player and some music, this can be a super fun stealh game!! Congrats to the team!✨
We are glad that going in for the kill felt enjoyable to you! And thanks for comparing the game to Metal Gear. That is a huge compliment!
I couldn't figure out how to kill the guy, but it was cool exploring and finding way around the map. I'd like to see more transformations, ones that give me some really cool abilities. Good start!
Thank you for the feedback. Also, your game was excellent!
I like this game I was able to play with my xbox controller 5 stars
Thank you for playing! We leveraged Unity’s Input Actions system, which does all of the leg work with controller integration (but the UI is not updated for controller yet).
Love it when devs go for an ambitions scope and you two pulled it off. Is it perfect, no but you can absolutely tell you two put a ton of work into it and for only 10 days you should be proud. It's fun to play and has a complete game loop. The game page icon is a chef's kiss!
Thank you for appreciating the effort we put into this.
One of the biggest reasons we were able to succeed is because our skill sets complement each other very well. Where one of us is weaker, the other is stronger. I can handle the programming side, while Nikita (Skewed Line) is incredibly efficient at creating and designing art and characters.
That dynamic worked in our favor.
Thank you for the kind words! We will absolutely keep working on it and making it better!
Thanks for laugh i got when reading your comment on my game. Sorry for the delay. Im recovering for surgery.
I could not find the guy i had to get. Will play again to see if i can get more done and then rate the game. Like the game.
We hope your surgery went well and wishing you speedy recovery! <3
Thank you for your feedback! We will work on making the target easier to identify
No need to apologize for anything! We are glad you played the game! And we sincerely hope your recovery goes smoothly.
TARGET ELIMINATED
That’s a nice stealth game & the art direction is great ! It took me a few tries before figuring out how to turn into a deadly assassin, maybe some guidance would help, but the morph ans stealth mechanics works really well !
Good job !
Thank you for playing! We love to hear that you were able to complete the game!
And yes, item discoverability is definitely an area of opportunity for us. In the future, we hope to have several routes and methods of assassination, as opposed to the single one we included in this version.
Feedback like this is what will help us get there!
Great job on the art of this game, and the gameplay is really well done too. Morphing into those 3 objects was fun, and the stealth for the most part was consistent. Found a few times where enemies didn't track me and I clipped through a wall just southwest of the targets room into another room. Otherwise I eliminated the target and had fun getting there. A few more instructions would go a long way here to really bring your game together, perhaps that skills only apply to certain morphs, all in all nicely done.
Thanks so much for playing! Yeah, the enemy detection logic was definitely a challenging aspect of developing this. I leveraged the state machine logic that is taught in GameDev.tv’s Unity combat course. But I still have a lot of bugs to iron out.
I did notice that enemy detection bugs occur more in the web build than in the HD version. I am curious: which one did you play?
I did play the web build, and it only happened on my initial play through.
Thanks! We recommend the HD version! It is much smoother, and is more in the style that our artist intended!
Great stealth game with some stunning 3D models. I couldn’t find the knife though. Good entry though!
Thank you so much for playing! Your feedback is incredibly useful. Curious, were you able to find the Spring? Because finding the spring is the key to finding the knife.
