I have no idea how you managed to finish all this in 10 days but I am sure it wasn't easy. The most important thing is that you managed to make a very beautiful and engaging management game. I hope you continue working on it until it reaches a commercial level because I would love to play this game. Congratulations!
Thanks for playing and thank you for your kind words ❤️
I am here to argue in the comments on itch.io. I think the menu opening and closing is fine, but maybe the room creator could be a 'paintbrush'. I think the rituals are fine - even though I couldn't get the first triangle one to work. I think the research room being at 1 is fine and in fact I think you should keep it limited to 1 room per game.
Also, I came back to rate this game slightly higher because I'm still thinking about it.
Hah noted! I appreciate your arguments. I was thinking about testing a ritual room that applies to adjacent rooms so not per room but you can create clusters. I think overall research will stay at one room, but may have some form of room that can boost research speeds (with research getting more expensive and a little slower, as you can unlock a lot in a row and loose track). Rooms may be tested with excavations and a build menu to limit the amount of UI you are clicking on with machine upgrades being removed in favour of global machine tier upgrades. so its more about your factory layout and rooms rather than machine micro.
But just a few ideas I have swirling around my head
This is done very well. I am impressed that you achieved so much in a 10-day jam period along with all the balancing and polished visuals. I have some feedback regarding the gameplay which would increase the overall experience of the game.
First when you select a room to add buildings to it, it goes away after placing one building. what you could do with that is, since the order doesn't matter, you can have the menu open and allow user to keep adding buildings until they run out of resources or room.
Second we have rituals which kind of seem pointless considering the amount of grind in the game. My opinion is to tweak the rituals where you can cast rituals for buildings instead of rooms, you can decrease the ritual time but it would have a very huge impact and will satisfy the players more upon using the ritual.
Third, you should allow more than 1 research buildings as well as summoning buildings if you plan to add more stuff later in the game.
Other than that you have done a great job, especially balancing the grind and gameplay both for the sweet experience which is not frustrating as well as repetitive.
Thanks for playing and providing such detailed feedback I really appreciate it, Rituals are currently being reworked, building is being streamlined and research and summoning is also seeing some love.
Again thanks ❤️
Nice game, I suggest to add some sfx and music, the rest of the part is nicely done.
Yeah, Plan on adding that as a post jam update.
Thanks for playing!
Well, what can I say. You have the formula down.
Great job! Thanks for playing
Well done on this. You managed to get a lot done for the time, so its not surprising that you ran out. Visuals are looking good. The mechanics seem to work well enough and you've obviously put a ton of thought into them.
I like the pretty colours and the BONESSSSSSS!!!!!!
Game looks awesome... well done!
Thanks for playing
Plenty of content and nice aesthetics. Would be awesome to see a polished version at some point :D
Thanks for playing! yeh I am tempted
Wow, looks like you've put in a lot of work here! I feel like you could expand on this game plenty after the jam and turn it into a decent game on steam :) It took me a moment to figure out what to do, reading the tutorial tips helped me along though...
Thanks - sorry about the lack of tutorial, lost track of time towards the end and came together a little rushed! Thanks for playing!
Awesome job, love upgrade type games and it looks so cool!
Great job on your submission!
Thanks for playing!
Nice work, there's a lot of content here! A solid foundation for a big game. I'd love to see where you take it after the jam!
Wow, really beautiful game! Not sure if there was supposed to be audio, I did not hear any? Crazy amount of work for a jam, great job!
No, no audio currently, Ran out of time - got carried away with models, rooms and content - thanks for playing!
This game is such a pleasure to look at, and I could definitely lose myself in it for much longer. It’s beautiful, has exactly the kind of atmosphere I love, and really knows what it wants to be. A fantastic piece of work — a truly charming title.
Thank you so much for your kind words!
My pleasure! ^^
I enjoyed building my skeleton workers lol
Nice, it's cleary getting somewhere, and it's a lot of content for the time we had! I hope you'll continue and polished it but it's a good job so far!
Beautiful game. I'm usually not into automation games, but if you give it a creepy darker vibe, I'm all about it! This was definitely incredible for the little time we had for the game jam. Great job!
That is looking great. God job :)
That's a lot of content and some amazing graphics for time time. Awesome game!
For the biggest changes I'd enjoy, it's actually just the really small things of an "upgrade all" button and camera rotation.
Yea I agree with you, the upgrade all is sorely needed - thanks for playing!
I like the art style and the gameplay
Thanks for playing
