One thing I've admired ever since I saw your games in previous jams is your creativity, and as always, you've come up with a fantastic idea. The way you integrated the theme into the gameplay is simply brilliant. Without a doubt, it's one of the most creative concepts I've seen in this jam so far.
The gameplay is excellent. I'd say the difficulty is just right because I could genuinely feel myself improving with each attempt. I have to admit that things were a little confusing at first when I was trying to understand how everything worked, so your gameplay video ended up being extremely helpful.
The visuals and visual effects are great. They contribute beautifully to the game's aesthetic in a very cohesive and polished way. Everything felt readable and fair, and having opportunities to recover health during the battle made the combat feel much more balanced.
My only suggestion would be to have the player restart directly in the boss fight after losing, without having to collect the item that awakens the boss at the end of the snake each time. That small change would make the gameplay feel much more dynamic since players wouldn't need to sit through the cutscene over and over again. It's a simple detail, but I think it would definitely make the experience feel more fast-paced.
It was great to see another incredible project from you. Your work is always inspiring when it comes to creative game design ideas for future projects. Congratulations on the game, and I wish you the best of luck in the jam!
Beautiful game!
This was a polished experience that wonderfully fits the theme, i have very little to criticize.
Two suggestions I care to give are to maybe add an easier difficulty and adding a volume slider.
Amazing work!
P.S. Iām a bit short on ratings, if you havenāt already, Iād really appreciate it if you could rate my game (sorry to ask and thanks in advance)š
I had a great experience overall. The intro is beautiful and very cinematic! For a while I thought the game itself would be going a bit more and then at some time we would get into the boss fight haha. Overall it's a round experience and a solid submission, with potential of going further! Congrats!
You did a nice job with the theme interpretation and this kind of boss fight round the planet gave me super mario galaxy vibes :))
The idea of a Butt Boss is pretty funny lol and the ending is cool!
Cool audio/visuals and fun, but Iām still not entirely sure what I was supposed to do. I get that you pick up the orbs and try to kill the tail, but the lines nor the comets seemed to do much and the big bouncy ball just bounced off the back.
Eventually I got a cutscene where the tail dissolved.
Music and sound was great, movement felt good and gameplay was fun, I just wish I better understood my progress toward the goal.
Good job making it to the end!
You get the cutscene of the boss getting damaged when you hit it with the ball for the first time so I thought it was clear enough that this is the way to beat it. I wanted it to be simple: only one way to damage the boss and it's the same during the whole fight. The orb is not supposed to be bouncy. Not sure how you could see bounce off of the tail!
Thank you for the feedback :)
Went back for hard mode :) I know realize what I thought was ābouncingā is just the orb firing!
Hard mode got real tricky by the end, no victory for me there. Everything made a lot more sense on my second + third play through.
Also now noticing how cleanly you telegraphed the snake grows by eating the balls at the beginning. Very slick!
Great game, I really loved the initial transition.
You did a great job here.
Great game, I was actually pretty invested in the little intro you had, and thought it might've been some interesting gravity puzzle type game, but the arcadey worm game you had was still lots of fun. Clear and easy to understand game, lots of polish on the little things (sounds, UI, cutscenes etc.,), and a well executed/unique take on snake. I very much enjoyed and think this is an excellent game. Ooo just read your part about the mario galaxy games and this game totally reminded me of that, I thought it was coincidence but clearly very intentional (I also very much enjoyed those games). Great job!
I like the concept — itās very original. Itās a really interesting challenge, and the music complements it very well. Great work!
