Fan of this game, it feels polished and also fun!

I enjoyed this a lot. The ship felt a bit sluggish though. I really want to upgrade the thrust speed and turning speed by the end. First run i got stuck on a small asteroid which I couldn't see behind the swarm and died. Second run I finished the game but cheesed it a bit. Farmed upgrades in the early levels and attached them all rear facing and just ran from everything, did the trick.

Developer(+1)

Hey, thanks for the comments and feedback. There was a lot we left on the cutting room floor in order to get a nicely polished game up in time for the jam and ship upgrades was definitely on that list.

I've seen and gotten stuck on some of those small asteroids. We might have to make those a bit bigger.

The strategy of loading up the rear early and running away definitely seems to be the preferred one according to the feedback. We hope to improve the enemy movement system (or at least randomize it a bit) so they aren't as easy to thwart in such a fashion and add a bit more challenge to the game.

Argh, I made it to the Scurge Queen with only 10% life and then got wiped out :p
I absolutely love this game, it had me hooked straight away. I love the weapon upgrade mechanic which allows the player full control of the strategic placement for the next upgrade, very cool indeed! I will definitely be playing this later but an easy 5 stars from me man! :)

Aw, thank you so much! We're so pleased that people found the game fun. Updates are planned for after the jam too so hopefully it'll be even more fun in the future!

This is one of my favorite games in this jam. I thought it was super fun and polished. Awesome job!

Developer

Thank you so much and congrats on beating the game! 🥳

Really enjoyed playing this and it was great transforming my ship into a pile of weapons! The art style and music were both good too and felt well aligned with the game.
The rotation of the ship felt a little slow, especially at the beginning with just one weapon on the front. Rather than changing it directly though, maybe an engine upgrade as well as weapons could be a nice option for extra customization.

Developer

So glad you enjoyed this and thanks for the feedback and suggestion!

Quite a fun game. Not too punishing, and I managed to get so many weapons (20 or so) that the ship looked ridiculously overarmed. Nothing can stand in my way !!!

Developer

Fun is the experience we were hoping for. So glad you enjoyed our game!

Fun. Applying the vampire survivor concept to a space shooter is a brilliant idea.

Developer(+1)

Thank you! We both enjoy Vampire Survivors so it was a fun genre to tackle.

Nice take on this game genre, I'm curious to see a full buffed ship, I didn't survive long enough :D I think I made it through 5 wormholes.

Good job

Developer

Thank you for taking the time to comment. The ship can grow as big and unruly as the player desires. We definitely want to do more with it after the jam!

Really cool game, was super fun to play.. well done!

Developer

Thanks so much!

Lots of fun to play and feels well-finished for a jam game.

As for potential improvements, I'd like to see some faster rotations so the best course of action isn't just to attach everything to the back, and maybe some RNG protection on the weapons: I only got the last 2 weapons during the final 30s and after the boss battle.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback. We're so happy you enjoyed our game.

We're definitely listening to what people are telling us and will be making improvements once the jam is over.

Really enjoyed the ship customization mechanic! 😄 Attaching new modules and gradually improving your ship feels very satisfying, and it gives the gameplay a nice sense of progression.

Honestly, someone should suggest this system to EVE Online — it would be a lot more fun than their limited module slots 😆

Thank you so much!

Hello, fellow 2D spaceship game maker who also uses a lot of shaders! I like your game, I like your shaders and particles. Fun, difficult, and doesn't take itself seriously. Nice!

Developer

Thank you so much! Your game was fun and pretty, even though I sucked at it :P

At first glance this game might seem simple, but there's absolutely an excellent amount of depth to the weapons system. Unfortunately I did run into an issue after entering a wormhole where the game wouldn't proceed, but ultimately I felt like this was clearly made by people who like a good ramp-up depth type of game.

Developer

Hey there, thanks for the wonderful comments and feedback. We're sorry to hear about the game malfunctioning...for all our testing we never saw an issue like the one you described but we'll be looking into it post-jam. Was it happening frequently or just once?

Really Damn Fun Game!! If i hadn't killed the boss first play through, i definitely would have played it multiple times! im tempted to keep playing just to see how many ION WHIPS i can get!  I have to say, it felt good to be able to tank abit of damage and have REAL FUN playing and upgrading my ship, rather than exploding in 1 hit like most devs do to make their game seem challenging. Felt like a fully realised experience playing through mission maps to the end! Upgrades on upgrades, made it very addicting! Hope it does well!!

Developer

Thank you so much! It's high praise coming from you with the game you put together for this jam!

We're so glad you had fun playing Weaponect! Be sure to follow waijee because we'll be making updates after the jam and we're taking everyone's feedback into consideration!

Congrats guys. I can tell you had a lot of fun making this one.

Being able to add weapons to my weapons never ceased to amuse me :D I attached 25 in the end.

Also my boomer Star Control II tactics of sticking all the weapons on my aft worked a treat. Was worried the queen was going to ruin my cowardly party.

Also appreciate the kindness of allowing the player to soak up a lot of damage. Lots of fun, well done.

Developer

Thanks for the wonderful comments. We really wanted people to have fun with the game and we hope to expand upon it after the jam!

Yay I was victorious :) Nice little game, I am  a coward, so my behind was FULL of weapons xD

Developer

lol...that seems to be the popular strategy amongst our players.

I love this game! This concept with connecting weapons is crazy, but so fun! My favourite weapon was the whip, in the end I got like 5 of them. I had to play to win, there are no higher stakes than saving humanity.

Developer

Aw, thanks so much for the awesome comment!

Fun concept!

Developer

Thank you!

Nice polish on the UI and in-between game elements. The controls felt a bit to sluggish for my taste but that is highly subjective. Nice variation on the levels, building on a solid foundation and nice weapons upgrade and power-ups!

Developer

Thank you for playing and the feedback! We're so glad you enjoyed it!
