Very cool idea! I like all the attacks and the animations were cool. The MegaLaser was quite epic.

I wish either boss moved faster or there were many more enemies. The crawling was very atmospheric, but a bit frustrating to wait until the next section for stuff to do.

With a little tuning, this would be a lot of fun!

Wow amazing game!
Always love when someone makes everything by himself, expecially at this quality level. I liked expecially the interactivity of the environment, like the skyscrapers that get destroyed if I shoot them down. My only broblem with the game is that it is a bit too slow, but as someone already said it enphasizes the dimensions of the player.
Veery good job, would like to see more! 👍👍

P.s. I’m a bit low on ratings right now, I would really appreciate it if you could try my game as well and give me your feedback (if you haven’t already). Thanks in advance and sorry to ask! 🙂

Woah, i really like the art and it was really fun to play as an enormous monster. The fact that u move slowly enphasizes the dimensions of the player. Good job, keep it up!

I love Stratosphere: Conquest of the Skies this game reminded me that , and I like this one too. My main issue was controls. Not able to move with WASD  and not having an option to auto attack or selection of weapons using keyboard was a little frustrating .

Woah never heard of stratosphere. Looks awesome. Ill definitely add some kb controls into the post jam build

I loved your game

Is that type of game that you just relax and destroy things.

It fits very well in the theme, congrats on your submission!!

Developer

thank you so much!

Hi, I'm Acuristic. The developer of "DeathWish". Here's my feedback:

Things which are good:

  • Visuals: The game's chaotic art style is really nicely draw, I myself went from a mech centered game to an alien centrered game because drawing mechs was very hard, but you nailed the zoxyob's design, it perfectly captures the complex look of giant mechs.
  • Audio: The bg music makes me feel like the mech is gonna destroy the planet with ease, it also makes me feel like some climatic battle is going to go down.

Things that need Improvement:

  • The attacks: The turrets by themselves are almost useless as its extremely hard to aim at the jets (might be because of my bad aim), so I used the brain sync to target all the turrets at the jet, which made it easier to destroy the jets you can also fix this by decreasing the jet's speed by a little.
  • Story: The game had no story, and this made the game feel kinda pointless, you can just add a brief story on the game's page to counter this.
  • Art: The art looks good, but it still needs some polish, because the zoxyob looks like its floating in air (completely ok if that was intentional, but you can still add some thrusters/fire to indicate that its flying) adding legs will fix this, you can even add wheels since its a robot!
  • Map: aditionally you can also add a mini-map to let the player know where to go.

Despite the chaotic, and even slightly cluttered nature of the game, it is still very fun, good job!!!👍👍

thanks for the feedback!  It's definitely a flying guy.  I figured floating down from space would communicate that, but maybe it needs more.  I wanted to start integrating particle FX, but i ran out of time. I think "chaotic and cluttered" is kinda the vibe!

The game is very nicely done but am not sure what is the point of eating people and destroy building .
I really like the pull me thing it make me feel powerful having tutorial would be nice.

Developer (1 edit)

thanks rackood! honestly the point of eating people and destroying buildings, is to eat people and destroy buildings.  They do provide health/healing as you go.  I had a tutorial in at one point, but it was not good, and too distracting from the aesthetic, so i tried to just make a guide on the site.  Could definitely use something more if i continue the proj.

Graphically, this game is very impressive. Not sure what I was doing the entire game tho.

I think theres too much things thrown at you at the start without a tutorial to understand how to play the game its supposed to be played.

Those shaders are very nice.

I completely agree with you that sleep is good. I to had a lot of problems finishing my little game.

By the way, this reverse R-type is fun, i am just puzzled on all the different options and things i can do. Everywhere i click something new happens and i am never sure on how good i was. Also, no matter how many times i tried, i wasn't able to collect any scraps, i will try again because the idea is really interesting, just a bit chaotic, in my limited experience.
